Last weekend, Nintendo gave us our first glimpse of Banjo-Kazooie, Byleth (Fire Emblem: Three Houses) and Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury) in amiibo form. All of them look absolutely stunning and are currently scheduled to arrive at some point in 2021.
When exactly might we get our hands on them, though? Apparently, it could be around "Fall" next year - which is admittedly a longer wait than we expected. Here's the new image that the official Nintendo of America Twitter account shared yesterday:
While normally this would be more than enough information to run with - Nintendo has now deleted the tweet. Was it a mistake? Did it reveal the date too early? It's hard to say at this point, but if "Fall 2021" is the target, we're guessing the wait time could be tied to production issues related to the global pandemic.
Back in July, Nintendo mentioned how its production, shipping, and product supply may be impacted if COVID-19 is prolonged or becomes more severe.

The Fall 2021 might just be a release holder date. I hope they come out sooner then later.
Part of me hopes that they simply made a mistake and just had the current season in mind when making this and went 'oops, that shouldn't be fall'.
Now if only they'd add B Orchid and Sabrewulf.
I hope they mean early 2021 .... so we can get the third character of the DLC while they announce the Min-Min and Steve amiibo.... then the third amiibo with the fourth character... and so on.

Winter amiibo are cat mario and peach
Summer amiibo are monhan stories 2
Fall amiibo are these 3 Smash fighters
What will be the Spring amiibo? Zelda?

That's way too late, the delay in relation to the availability of the characters themselves in-game didn't make sense as it was, but having to wait one more year? That's ridiculous.

A mistake to publish the image, but unlikely the date is a mistake as the text is within the image. September 2021 the earliest it seems.
Whatever. I pretty much stopped buying Smash amiibo these days (especially since Custom Specials are no more, unfortunately), though I would like to get that Banjo-Kazooie amiibo.

Byleth's hair is too blue. But good that they're only releasing male version, because who cares if you don't get female or male.
why does it take a full year to produce 3 figures, after only producing 2 previously?
and not releasing two Byleths is just low-effort and disappointing. Why does Cloud and Bayo get an alt pose, but actual alts like Hero or fem Byleth get ignored?
