Ubisoft has announced that a selection of characters from AMC's The Walking Dead TV series will be joining the roster of playable characters in Brawlhalla.
Michonne, Rick Grimes, and Daryl Dixon will be the chosen few being thrown into the mix, all appearing in-game on 14th October. Their arrival will kick off an event that features a new game mode where players and their friends have to fight off endless waves of walkers for as long as they can.
The in-game event is also said to feature a new map depicting the survivors’ prison from seasons three and four of the show, as well as a new podium and a new KO effect. Michonne will be an Epic Crossover for Koji, Rick Grimes an Epic Crossover for Barraza, and Daryl Dixon an Epic Crossover for Ember.
If you haven't tried Brawlhalla yet, you'll be pleased to know that it's free-to-play, meaning you can give it a go without having to pay a penny. It doesn't quite stand up to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the list of best Switch fighting games, but it's still a solid experience that's definitely worth the non-existent asking price. Feel free to read our full review to learn more.
Previously, other big names like Tomb Raider's Lara Croft and a variety of WWE superstars also made the leap into the game.

I think I am the only one still playing this game even tho I have smack bros. This game has an Excellent Online mode. But about these skins, I don't care.

I tried this game once and if you have or own smash its almost pointless game play wise! Just seems so cheap and crappy. Only thing i got from the 10 mins was a laugh at how poor it was. Not played smash in months so may have a blast! Happy gaming everyone😊😎😁
This game is absolute garbage. If you haven't played it, imagine Smash but exactly two items are forced on and you only have jabs and aerials. It's not even the checkers to Smash's chess, it's equivalent to a paper board game you'd get in an issue of the Beano.
Regardless of game quality, being a fan of the show does make me want to try it now just to play with these three. If it's bad I can always delete it.
I may download it for the third time, and actually start playing it this time... Not because of these three characters, but because it's getting harder an harder to ignore that there is support for this game. What's there to lose? (famous last words before getting addicted to and sinking thousands of hours into a game until you literally FALL asleep)
@Yosher Just saying, most of these 3rd party characters in Brawlhalla are paid skins of normal characters. The only exception is Rayman.

The thing about Brawlhalla that rubs me the wrong way is that skins aside, there's maybe 6-8 actual 'characters' in regards to movesets and what not, and everything else is based on the weapons they can pick up. The game felt really shallow to me after a few tries. That being said, I'm glad people are trying to make a game inspired by Smash and are attempting different ways to make it their own...if people didn't clone Street Fighter, we'd have missed out on Mortal Kombat, Guilty Gear and the like... I'm sure sooner or later a platform fighter will come out that will at least be almost as good as Smash.
But Brawlhalla ain't it.

Out of all of the “smash clones” this one is my least favorite. All of the character play the same, there is no variety. If you want a Smash game that isn’t Smash I highly recommend Rivals of Aether.
