With two new Monster Hunter games coming to Switch next year, it's a pretty exciting time for fans of the series, and a brand new wave of amiibo make the deal even sweeter.
As you may already know, we're being treated to new figures for Palamute, Magnamalo, and Palico, all of which unlock different special layered armour sets in-game and are set to launch alongside Monster Hunter Rise. As it turns out, these three amiibo will all be available at just one store per region, so your buying options will be rather limited.
Make sure to keep an eye out at these stores to secure your pre-orders:
- US
- GameStop
- Canada
- EB Games
- Europe
- My Nintendo Store
One of the three amiibo might be slightly easier to get hold of than the others, however, as a Collector's Edition will also be available including a physical copy of the game, a Deluxe Kit DLC Pack download code, a “Kamura Mark” pin badge, a sticker pack, and the Magnamalo amiibo.
Monster Hunter Rise launches on 26th March 2021, with Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin launching in "summer 2021".

I miss when all the various gear was available with the base game without having to buy additional DLC, amiibo, etc. to access them. Oh well, that's just how the industry is these days I guess. At least you only need a few blank NFC chips to get all the amiibo stuff.
Ah great, therefore as My Nintendo "doesn't not deliver to your region" I would be unable to get them (to be fair I dont want them but if I did i would be screwed)
Well done Nintendo
Amiibo designs sure have gotten gorgeous lately.
Anyone remember the Palutena one having almost no face features?
I just want the physical deluxe edition. Amiibos don't interest me. They do look good though
Why the My Nintendo store? Placing orders through that site is a pain.
It could've just been regular Nintendo UK Store, but then I guess that doesn't cover Europe.
@Collette I don’t think they’ve died down, not a single bit.
I’m waiting for Joker and Hero... then we are getting Cat Mario and Peach ... then Montster hunter
That leaves us with 7 amiibos in the foreseeable future... plus the restock of the 4 Zelda Champions.... plus whatever they come up with the 35th Zelda Anniversary .... and the rest of the first Smash DLC wave ... then the second.
There’s no sign of them slowing down... and I love it.
But why?!
Why isn't available though amazon and local businesses?! (as example)
And just like that I'll no longer be getting these.
Already got two collector editions, one to keep sealed as I have every MH special edition ever released on display.
But that includes the Magdamalo amiibo, which means I only need the Palamute and Palico amiibos. Hopefully the Hunter gets added to Smash and we get a Hunter amiibo too. That would be rad.
So will they be available in Australia?
Oh cool, more things I can't order because I cannot use the Paypal account linked to my Nintendo account to pay for them and none of the very few credit cards I have access to work on the site.
I just don't expect amiibo to be available any more, and Nintendo more often than not meet my expectations. Nintendo need to take the content they lock behind these things and make it available as premium dlc as an alternative for the many people who play the games but can't get the amiibo. Thankfully it's not as bad now as in the Wii U days where amiibo could lock whole levels and game modes (Splatoon and Mario Party 10 spring to mind) as now it's largely cosmetic extras and in the case of games like Mario Odyssey they added nothing that couldn't be earned through normal progression.
I don't really understand the German nintendo store tbh. I tried to purchase something once from it and kept getting error messages. And when it comes to amiibo, when you click on it it shows all amiibo that have been released and the date they released in, but there is no shopping option as far as I can tell? like it doesn't seem to say out of stock or anyhting, but it seems more like a list of amiibo rather than a shop type situation.
Europe: My Nintendo Store
I can not begin to describe what a painful experience using this site is. It's embarrassing, but it's been like this since I ordered my NES joycons and Nintendo hasn't done anything to fix it since, so I guess they don't care.
Seriously Nintendo really needs to change their company name to Nintendo Limited cause they keep limiting craps over and over again.
What's with all this "limited" stuff? Even if they don't limit things they can't supply according to demand. And My Nintendo Store? I believe I tried using it once. Tried.
Well, as long as the actual in game use of these is limited too... I don't like Nintendo's current way of doing business. Not at all.
Limited regional amiibo? Say hello to their amiibo cards from etsy or ebay.
How do you even access the MyNintendo Store physical stuff?
Every link I find ultimately just takes me to the official UK store.
I collect the Amiibo, so I'd rather not miss out on these and have my only option being scalpers.
Gold Mario is still a pipe dream for me atm.
For all the whinners out there about the Amiibos - here's a strategy don't buy them pretty simple enough. As anything limited isn't just limited to Nintendo other does the same to xbox/psx releases so just to crybaby it's just Nintendo is just plain lazy. As to buying cards copied Amiibos that should be made free of charge instead of making people pay for them. People buy the Amiibo for specific reasons from collecting/displaying them and some buy the one they like or want only. That is a choice one makes and to say only because of is just pathetic. Stop making excuses either you buy or don't buy. I think with Nintendo re-releasing Amiibos that should drive Scalpers prices down for those Amiibos and hard to find or rare/no longer produced will always be a choice one makes to buy or wait for used Amiibo to show up to buy. They can't remake every Amiibos but they could they have to weight will they make return if this Amiibo is re-released or not to cover the production cost. I myself had to do this look at eBay for some Amiibo and ads to buy from people but that was when the prices where low but now some are a pain. Take the MH Amiibos for 3DS those if you find them are no longer the 13usd range I bought them for now. As that was the only way that I could find them since they had no NA release. So there are Amiibos that only through Amazon or eBay(last resort for certain things) that your left to go through. That's how I see how this whole saga is playing out.
@Bearzilla823 The fact that they are limiting these in the USA to ONLY Gamestop has me out. I refuse to bow down to GS's near criminal tactics. These figures will be up on Ebay and other sites for 4-5 times their MSRP within minutes of Gamestop and the vicious scalpers getting them in their hands.
Did one consider that was Nintendo decision not something in control of GS. Trying to equate false hood as fact is one reason these kind of posting are labeled Misleading and Falsehood Trolling. And if you have problem with eBay then complain to eBay.
@SwitchForce Come on, don't be this person.
Great.... A company that tried to declare itself a public necessity in order to remain open during the pandemic. Hopefully it goes bankrupt before launch so they're forced to find an alternate solution.
@JaxonH Not sure I'd want a Mary Magdalene amiibo...
Sure limit me too the My Nintendo store so I have to pay £13.40 for bloody shipping.
What happened to just stocking items where retailers will take them?
Eff amiibos... i am sick of them and their exclusivity and limited stock crap... i can't afford them and when i finally can they are sold out everywhere and sold online for 3x the retail price! Plus there's to many of them so I'd be happy if they stopped making them already.
Here it goes the next smash bros dlc fighter
I have interest in the Magnamalo. There is a collector's edition that though gamestop has it but the amiibo is what I'm more interested in. I own a copy of Monster Hunter Rise and soon will get order for Monster Hunter Stories 2 too. Really looking forward to it
@RupeeClock doens't my nintendo store mean it will cost gold or plat points to get?
@Musharna
No, the My Nintendo Store exists as a place to purchase physical items that might be "awards" for redeeming a token number of gold or platinum points.
For example, they sold Splatoon 2 and Super Nintendo poster sets through the store, for some 300 Platinum points and the monetary cost of shipping & handling.
However they also directly sell the NES and SNES controllers used for the Nintendo Switch Online NES/SNES services. The reason for this is that the My Nintendo Store is linked to your My Nintendo account and is used to confirm that you are a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber. They would not sell these controllers to non-subscribers.
@xzacutor I'm actually surprised they were not available to pre order shortly after their announcements, they normally do with the items announced. I asked eb and they said they have no word so far but keep an eye out, I would be surprised if they do list them. I think the regions listed might be the only one listed available outside of Japan. I've pre ordered through outside source for the three individual amiibo's if they come out to Australia, don't mind ordering extra just to open up
@MaXX5000 I ended up pre ordering them from playasia and they were expensive as (~$200 AUD).
I checked the Australian Nintendo site and they reckon they're going to sell the collectors edition with the Magnamalo amiibo, but they don't mention any specific place to get it from.
@RupeeClock never knew that. Only ever got the nes conners. But im from NA
