UK chart data is now in for the week ending 22nd August, revealing that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has taken top spot once again.
The Switch exclusive managed to beat this week's major new release PGA Tour 2K21, which launched across both PS4 and Xbox One. Last week's number one, EA Sports UFC 4, also available on Sony and Microsoft's systems, has fallen to third place in its second week in the chart.
A number of other Nintendo titles can be found in the top ten, with familiar names being found across the board.

Nice!
Also nice to see Spider-Man back to top 10!!!
It Printed MONEY...!!!
I hate it when Switch games have a times e-shop release before it comes out physically. Late September in this case and all to familiar
Where did lats of us 2 go?
Will there be a review of PGA tour? It's available now from the eshop but physical Delayed until next month.
Is there a review of PGA for the switch? It says here it’s k my out on PS4 and XB1 but it released digitally last week on Switch as well so surely it has some sales figures?
It’s a game I’m hoping is going to be a good - so review?
I’ve noticed some people on my Switch Friends list have been playing PGA, didn’t realise it was digital only at the minute.
Animal Crossing is a cultural phenomenon.
The best AC I've played and probably in the top ten best games I've ever played.
Surprised PGA golf is so popular. I thought Golf games were quite niche in the UK.
Still hoping for a Mario Golf on Switch. 🤞🙏
Any sign of a PGA Tour review on here? Debating if I should get it and for what platform.
Question to the NL staff: are we getting a review for the PGA Tour 2K21?
Going from 20th to 9th is quite the leap these days, especially for a nearly 2-year-old game. And I just checked, last week it went from 39th to 20th! Guess the upcoming game, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is generating hype.
@jarvismp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIoncrn2CYU. missing the crowds but looks not bad
do not bother with pga, it's buggy as hell
@jarvismp I bought it, it's very buggy, sometimes you have this black shapes on the map bc it fails to load textures
@blockfight
I have it and it's decent enough, visually it's a pretty big downgrade so keep that in mind.
I do have a PS4 and own the first Golf Club, Rory and Everybody's Golf on it so I was also debating about which platform to get it for.
In the end I decided on Switch because the TV is often in use by my kids or wife and being able to grab the switch and play it portable is quite handy. There's also the fact that my PS4 is very loud when playing games and the controllers are crappy, the rubber on the sticks is coming off and damaged.
I'm happy with my purchase because it plays fine but it IS a bit disappointing to see the shadows flickering and to see all the low res textures and low quality assets. The fact that everything is there is great (including course designer) and the actual gameplay is probably on par (pun intended) with the other versions. I also don't like the slow menu's but I also noticed this is a common thing in EA and 2K sports games on any platform for some reason.
So in the end it all comes down to your tolerance for low graphical fidelity and things like flickering low quality shadows. I've also noticed some very strange and unnatural looking clouds.
ACNH is great. I still can't wait to boot it up every morning.
I think its amazing how well Nintendo is doing in the UK these days especially considering how historically it has not always been a strong area for them. Great to see.
@Xiovanni
Yes the third best selling Sony exclusive of all time 🤦♂️🙄 Get outta here
@Snesionetty
@Xiovanni
Last of Us 2 is living in both your heads rent free apparently. Let me guess you watched a few youtube videos and listened to your youtube overlords and became convinced you hate the game based on what other losers say as you can't form a single opinion of your own?
Have either of you actually played the game?!
Get a life.
@noutBr that kinda stuff doesn't bother me. For me it's all about portability as I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to access to the tv.
Only thing to decide now is if i go with Switch or Stadia. Both give me a different way to play without relying on TV.
@blockfight
Stadia?!
Just get it on Switch, Stadia will not be around much longer.
@Anti-Matter,
And will continue to print money until it's the top selling game on the Switch.
@TheFullAndy So most people who have never tried it say. I'm hoping they're wrong as it's giving me access to big games on the go that I normally wouldn't have time to play. I'm over 20 hours in to Assassins Creed Odyssey, if I bought on XBOX I'd probably be an hour in.
@noutBr I saw a video of it and thought they’ve just phoned it in with the Switch version. Looks like it needed a bit more tlc. I mean I’ll happily play NES Open or Arnold Palmer Golf on the MD, but this just looks like they hit low settings without optimisation and signed it off. Who knows maybe they’ll patch it.
@noutBr Nah at that price I'd b looking for more than just fine, but the way u have explained it sounds about right 2me as it just didn't "feel" like a game suited for the Switch...processing power is just not there...
@TheFullAndy Pretty difficult 2 compare the two, Stadia yes it's a messy situation and nobody really knows where it's heading...oh well suppose somebody had 2 give it a shot...but they've got the money 2 burn...
@Sim1 As a port it is just fine.
The game is basically The Golf Club 2020 as it runs on the same engine and is made by HB Studios. When it comes to the actual gameplay it is one of the best reaslistic golf games ever made.
It may not have the biggest budget and may not be optimised for Switch but it really is a great game if you can look past the presentation/graphics on Switch.
I can't believe it's that popular, it's just an updated codebase of the golf club 2019...
@noutBr I think people might have not looked it up and thought 2k made it from scratch or something
@jarvismp I have been loving pga tour. It fill the tiger woods golf game niche on switch quite well
@Snesionetty To the incinerator where it belongs
@TheFullAndy you're complaining about people being brainwashed by others to not like the last of us but I would say you are absolutely totally and utterly brainwashed to be against Google Stadia. Just because people tell you that its bad doesn't mean that it's bad just like your getting upset that people feel as though The Last of Us is bad when you think it's not bad. It's all about preferences and people have their own opinion about things. I agree with the guy, Google stadia is a good option for playing games portable, just because you think it's not good doesn't mean that it is not good, to a lot of us it's a good platform.
@blockfight you have very good taste. I also love the Nintendo switch and Google Stadia. No matter which route you go I don't think you can go wrong. I like being able to play 3rd party games through stadia on my Samsung smartphone. And anything from Nintendo first-party I obviously buy it on the Switch.
@Amin_Parker
"totally and utterly brainwashed to be against Google Stadia."
You got that from me saying it will not be around much longer?
I have nothing against Stadia but it has hardly been a rip roaring success and Google have a history of abandoning things that are not immediately successful. That's what I was talking about.
You sound brainwashed yourself bud.
@Amin_Parker I'm making full use of all aspects of Stadia at the minute. Play on chrome browser at work during break, play on TV when the other half ain't around and use Samsung phone when she wants the TV. Compliments the Switch perfectly.
@TheFullAndy If Stadia does end up being binned by Google, so be it. But i will be on the lookout for something that offers similar services. I don't want xCloud streaming because i don't want to get locked in to a subscription to stream. The next gen of consoles don't interest me so streaming for now is where I'm looking. Along with Switch.
@blockfight
Fair enough, I just see Stadia going the way of Onlive.
I have zero interest in streaming games, if it isn't running natively on hardware then I won't have anything to do with it.
@TheFullAndy the beauty of modern gaming. Loads of options to suit different people.
I enjoy PGA TOUR a lot. In handheld it looks fine. In docked the shadows and water are pretty horrible.
Gameplay is smooth as hell. Good flow. No regrets.
I know there are plenty of people who do really enjoy sports games, and I wish them all the fun they seek. But I am glad to see a game like ACNH which got so much hard work put into it, at the top of the list. And not a sports game where they only thing they did was change the label on the box and update the names of the players before calling it a "new" game and selling it for full price with DLC and microtransactions.
are we getting a pga golf 2k21 review though, interested if it is good
I'm just surprised that a PGA game did so well. Though I imagine the Switch has some nice control options for it.
@TheFullAndy what a hostile reaction to a normal question. and what is rent free?
@Snesionetty
Obvious answer to the "normal" question: It went down the charts, no 19 to be exact.
"Living in your head rent free" means something that has wound someone up so much they mention it when it isn't even part of the discussion.
@Heavyarms55 Precisely, that pricing is completely insane...
@noutBr Thanks brother I completely understand...the price will drop and I'll probably buy it lol, our currency in South Africa has been decimated so any new AAA game is extremely pricey now.
