Who else is picking up Hypnospace Outlaw! I’ve been so excited for this for a while😂.
Hypnospace Outlaw and Moon for me. I’ve been waiting for both of these for a good long time.
Maybe Windbound but I need to see some reviews first.
Nothing for me. I'll probably wait for a physical release for Moon.
I’ll wait for the review on Best Friends, but a virtual pet would be a cool. Moon, I need to go back and read about it, it was on my list for while - just don’t remember why
@KIRO @Ralizah @imgrowinglegs why are so many people interested in Moon? It looks ok but I don’t understand what so cool or special about it.
Actually a lot here for once I want: Jump Force, Captain Tsubasa, Nexomon, Moon, and Vampire Wars. Just going with Nexomon for now
I love how people would consider this a slow week. We're pretty spoiled with the Switch, imo.
@Ralizah you may have to wait a long time for that, unless you plan to buy the Japanese physical edition.
Onion Games could really use the digital sales, that way they can both bring more games and maybe work on a western retail edition. It's fairly priced too, at £15.
@RazumikhinPG
Nah. I fully expect to see a LRG physical go live before the end of the year. This publisher has worked with them at least as recently as a couple of months ago.
@Blooper987
Overall, if you're a JRPG fan, it seems like a fascinating release.
@Blooper987 It’s always been one of those Japan-exclusive games that people hype up as being amazing. Since it’s over 20 years old now, I just kind of figured it wouldn’t get a US release.
When Tim Rogers (YouTuber/former Kotaku staff) talked at length about how he was one of the guys translating it for an English release, I was sold. Tim understands how a localization should work, so I believe he’s going to make this release shine.
@Ralizah Even if LRG releases this, it will be many months before you can get it. I'm still waiting for my copy of Panzer Dragoon that I pre-order when the pandemic began lol
Furthermore, OnionGames have already said they don't have any plans for a western physical release (and encouraged people to buy the digital copy).
Don't get me wrong, I do think LRG WILL release this game, it's just going to take ages.
Also, this game has absolutely no JRPG elements. It would be great if people stopped labeling it as an RPG at all.
@RazumikhinPG The game is listed on Nintendo's website as a "role playing" game. The developers were RPG developers. The original release was literally named "Moon: Remix RPG Adventure."
Of course it's not a traditional RPG. That's the entire purpose of the game.
Anyway, as I said, this company has already worked with LRG in the past. If you think they're not going to make a Western physical of this, I have a bridge to sell you. They're probably just trying to juice the enthusiast crowd with their Japanese physical edition first.
And yeah, I've ordered multiple LRG releases, and have received every one of them. They're definitely not snappy with their releases (which is why I passed on the physical for Shantae and the Seven Sirens), but they are reliable.
another passing week with no purchases. I think the last game I purchased was Paper mario 🤔
@Ralizah oh boy...
Ok, first of all, you're speaking with someone who has played the PS1 game, so if I'm telling you there are no RPG elements, maybe consider it true. Otherwise you can Google it yourself.
I'm just trying to avoid people being disappointed and negatively reviewing this game because they don't find any RPG elements.
Second of all, I did say LRG is very likely going to release this in physical format. Maybe re-read what I wrote? You may have missed something.
And finally, I never said LRG doesn't deliver the games. I said it will take a while for you to get it (aka at least next year).
@RazumikhinPG The game's elevator pitch seems to be about subverting and deconstructing tropes and design elements associated with the RPG genre, so I doubt anyone is going in expecting Final Fantasy.
Anyway, the game's publisher refers to it as an RPG. RPG is in the title. Wikipedia calls it an RPG. Nintendo lists it as a role-playing game. And so on.
So I'm going to keep calling it an RPG.
I'm not in any rush to play this, so waiting for the LRG release suits me just fine.
Windbound has my interest, hopefully it'll get a review. Although the line "just the will and skill to survive" is a straight rip from Eye of the Tiger by Survivor that I found hugely entertaining.
Moon is one I'm interested in, just for the novelty.
Switch’s worst year continues.
