If you're still loving life on your island getaway and want to keep up to date with everything going on in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you'll want to make sure you pick up this latest limited-time item.
Available from Nook Shopping, this brand new seasonal item has appeared to celebrate Tanabata, a special Japanese holiday. As the tweet below says, Tanabata is a festival where people write wishes on pieces of paper and attach them to bamboo grass, which just so happens to be the item you can pick up.
If you've got a good spot for it on your island, it can look particularly lovely as a decoration. Just make sure you go ahead and download it before 31st July as it'll disappear from the store after that date.
If you're stuck, the item can be found by heading to the 'Nook Shopping' section of the Terminal in Resident Services and going over to the 'Seasonal' tab.

You can inspect this item of furniture and get a different message each time, it's quite fun.
Each one is written to sound like it was written by a villager on your island. (Yes, your resident peppy villager wishes to be famous.)
Ooopsie, i still do Time Travel to get specific villagers. 😅
I will return my time back to Normal when i'm ready to get some limited edition Tanabata Matsuri stuffs.
My neighbor Antonio wrote "#BLM" on his
I love japan-themed updates. I’m American, but I love the Japanese culture.
Bought this a few days ago, thanks for explaining what it was, I had no idea.

I'm pretty sure the tree has been available for sale for like at least the last 4 days .
@iNintendo he’s allowed his opinion though.....
What surprises me is that the villager (was it? Or a real secondary player?)wrote that hashtag. I didn’t believe the NPC would get into politics in this game.
I do like that you can inspect it and see everyone’s wishes. How neat ☺️
@iNintendo Sorry, I would just prefer it if Nintendo's "come here and escape from the madness of the real world" vibe in games like AC not remind me of said real world. For real, I don't care how subtle it is, they oughta keep the sociopolitical stuff out of it. And especially out of a game that is as innocent as AC
i already bought the Tanabata item and placed where my Campsite is located.
I've actually purchased about 7 of them. I really love how they look, so they presently dot my island 💕
This has been there since the last big update. I grabbed one right away because it fits perfectly in my Bamboo park.
im glad these event items are international. These look great in my shrine-ish area. In New Leaf you couldn’t celebrate Tanabata unless you were in Japan.
