Original Article (Thu 14th May, 2020 12:15 BST): The Urban Trial series is back for another spin on Switch, as Tate Multimedia reveals Urban Trial Tricky exclusively for Nintendo's platform.
Following in the footsteps of Urban Trial Playground on Switch and Urban Trial Freestyle on 3DS, this new entry brings all the tricks, platforming and racing you've come to expect. It's set in a cartoon-style city and boasts three modes, more than 30 levels, and a "vast" number of customisation options.
It's also said to play in "super-smooth 60fps", as seen in this feature list below:
KEY FEATURES:
1. Exciting light-hearted casual gameplay
2. Crazy mix of tricks, platforming, and racing
3. Killer tricks to combine in countless combos
4. Super-smooth experience in 60 FPS
5. 3 single-player modes
6. Over 30 levels + side challenges
7. Savage customization options
8. Leaderboards to rule
9. Infinite gameplay
10. More freedom, more fun. Riding in both directions.
We don't have an exact release date for this one just yet, but we do know it'll be landing on Switch this summer. We thought the last entry on Switch was pretty enjoyable on the whole, so we'll make sure to keep an eye out for any future announcements.

Well, we couldn't get Tony Hawk, but we got the next best thing. His Aunts Cousins Nephews Acquaintances Brother 3 times removed.
@patbacknitro18 "What does that make you?"
"Absolutely nothing! As you are about to become."
cringy...
"Hmm, is that it? Can you think of someting more to say?"
yes.
I love Urban Trial Freestyle along with Urban Trial Underground, so I am totally interested in this. I didn't really like Steel Rats, so I am glad they are returning to the Trial style. I also couldn't really get into Trials Rising all that much.
Oh this should be good. I loved Urban Trial Playground. There was something about the game that had me coming back at the expense of losing all interest in Trials Rising.
Nothing compared to the ultimate CycloManiacs https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/508422
I approve of the wheelie & nose wheelie functions in the trailler above.
I liked Urban Trials Playground. I liked the nose wheelie mechanic. Note: I played Urban Trials Playground because Trials Rising hadn't released yet, but I still unlocked all of Playground's tracks and completed most objectives. It's fun, just don't expect it to be Trials Rising.
I thought NintendoLife's review of Playground was decent.
OH, Urban Trial Tricky is made by the creators of Urban Trial Playground!? I'm definitely keeping an eye out for Tricky then. Thanks for the heads up, Ryan!
Looks pretty fun. I enjoy these types of games.
Nice art style. It's totally normal looking, and yet seems somehow more appealing. I'll have to get this, but I should probably get my money's worth from Playground and Rising first.
Definitely looks more fun than the last Urban Trial game... a little more "Fortnite" in style than I would prefer.
If it reviews well, I may give it a try while on vacation.
Feels like a cleaner-looking game compared to the muddy visual-noise from their previous Trials Playground game on Switch.
The price is right, but will wait to see how it reviews
The 3ds version is currently $0.70, if you're interested in. Just buy that, no reason to buy it at full price.
@Bunkerneath Is that a SpaceBalls reference?
The Urban Trials series on Nintendo consoles has been highly decent so far. Enjoyed Freestyle and Playground. So I may pre-order this one.
Damn - at a millisecond glance I thought we had a new SSX on our hands.
This just makes me want SSX Tricky.
Joe Danger feels. Now that's a series that would work on Switch...
After watching the trailer again, I'm a little worried about alllll the zany tricks, and what that could mean for the focus of the game.
Edit: The break dancing at end of trailer tries to talk me out of a sale, but I'll wait for nintendolife's review
@ArtiomNLS The reason why Project Cars is not on Switch either. Switch already have Mario Kart.
It’s a 7/10 game. Looks lovely and is great fun. With 30% off and a few points it cost me less than £9 so well pleased with it.
@Ventilator let me know where I can find the project cars developers mention that. Thanks!
@ArtiomNLS I have all the best racing games on PC, Ps4 and Xbox One X, but i think Mario Kart 8 is by far the best one online except for Forza Horizon 4 online.
@kobashi100 It were a joke. Anyway. It were supposed to be released on Wii U, but were cancelled.
