Prolonged isolation may have sent everyone a little bit crazy, but it's also brought out the best in Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, as they come up with new ways to play. The screenwriter Gary Whitta - who co-developed the story in the Star Wars film Rogue One, has decided to become a late-night talk show host in Nintendo's popular social simulation.
Gary's show is called "Animal Talking" and he live streams regularly on Twitch. He features celebrity guests, comedy acts, musical performances, and has already got Naomi Kyle (former IGN Daily Fix host, YouTuber, and Streamer) and musical guest Raquel Lily to make an appearance. He's now set his sights on the former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé, and Reggie has already responded:
Gary is also open to other Animal Crossing fans appearing on the show like Danny Trejo and Captain Marvel actor, Brie Larson.
In the pilot episode (below), Gary says he's channelling a lot of classics, such as The Tonight Show, The Late Show, and The Larry Sanders Show. Despite this, he shot the first episode at 9:30 am local time. And in case you're wondering, the guy on drums is game developer Adam Nickerson (Ding Dong XL).
What do you think of this concept? Would you tune in to watch Reggie? Leave a comment down below.

I could be very rude here. But I wont. Let's just say I really don't like the new Star Wars, Rogue One included. So seeing "Rogue One writer wants..." Is not remotely a positive for me.
That said, Reggie has a great internet persona and would make for a great host.
One of the writers of the only great Disney era Star Wars movie.
VII - Enjoyable
Rogue One - Great
VIII - Hot trash
Solo - OK
IX - Somehow worse than VIII which is an achievement in itself.
I did enjoy all of the Disney star wars (except solo) but rogue one was my favorite for that Darth Vader scene alone!
@Heavyarms55 to be fair, Gary Whitta is awesome. He's on Kinda Funny Games Daily most Wednesdays, and is by far the best person on there IMO. He was also involved with writing the first season of Telltales' Walking Dead, if you liked that at all. Worth giving a chance to.
Please don’t turn this into a Star Wars flame war. It has nothing to do with the show that’s being presented here.
I’ve been following Animal Talking on Twitch and I must say it’s a lot of fun. I hope this show continues for a while. Gary deserves it very much.
after earth. Whitta was good in the then coined "tested" podcast that's it.
I know people don't like rogue one but this could be cool, or at least be the beginning of something cool in the game, and more exposure is always good
Gary is hilarious. Always look forward to Whitta Wednesdays on the KFGD podcast. I've no interest in animal crossing but this did interest me when he announced it on the show.
Gary Whitta is awesome. As others have said, I watch him most Wednesdays on KFGD and I always look forward to the Wednesday show for that reason.
He’s witty, sharp and has a genuine old school interest in gaming. Plus, he’s a very family value kind of guy.
I’d definitely recommend people watching the show, or maybe watching a few ‘Whitta Wednesdays’ episodes of KFGD first.
@TheFullAndy
JJ had the impossible work of cramming 2 films into one, conclude the Palpatine saga (I am not calling it Skywalker saga) and fix the innumerable mistakes from ep VIII and the complete lack of progress in the story. So while XI isn't great, I blame it 100% on Rian Johnson.
Also Solo is waaaaayyy worse than other Disney SW, probably as bad as the clone wars film
@TheFullAndy,
Nobody ever offers any insight on how they would have made em better though.
@Rhaoulos
Solo was a classic adventure film, didn't feel particulatly Star Warsy but it was decent. Plus it had Donald Glover killing it as Lando.
I know all the issues with IX following VIII, but that doesn't change the fact it was the worst of them for me. IX actually harmed the original trilogy by bringing Palpatine back and therefore negating the impact of the originals story.
As far as I am concerned VII to IX are like Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, they never happened.
@johnvboy
Oh that is simple, they were never made to begin with!
That is my mindset going forward.
@Rhaoulos If by "fix the innumerable mistakes from ep VIII" you mean "closing all the possibilities ep VIII opened to actually tell an interesting story in the SW universe, and reverting the narrative to the kind of rote fanservice that is Disney's stock in trade", then I'll have to agree with you
Oh, and in ep IX, poor JJ had the impossible work of concluding the Palpatine saga... that he started in the preposterous opening crawl of that very same movie, right?
Speaking of which, @johnvboy you want to know how ep. IX would could have been way better? Don't bring Palpatine back! Just removing such a blatant ass pull would make the movie much more coherent with the rest of the saga, it would make it feel less like a retread, and it would let the writers explore a new status quo: the rebels are decimated, but the empire has lost its head. Maybe we could have witnessed a struggle between two factions led by Kylo Ren and Hux, with Rei and the remnants of the rebel forces caught in the middle?
@johnvboy
Don't make Luke Skywalker a b*tch
Interesting, the writer of the best Disney Star Wars movie with an Animal Crossing talk show where Reggie will most likely show up? I might have to give this a look.
I like that Adam Nickerson is the band leader lol. Dong Dong XL is a load of fun. I thought that video was pretty entertaining and I think everyone bringing up Star Wars is missing out on fun ways people are using animal crossing. That was really cool, I’d rather watch that than SNL at Home or Jimmy Fallon from his living room or whatever.
Yo this looks amazing and hilarious, i enjoyed it and i am really into it, i wanna watch more Animal Talking!
@KillerBOB
Wasn't he always though? I love Mark Hamill, but honestly Luke is the weakest character in the original trilogy. I'll pick B̶a̶l̶t̶h̶i̶e̶r̶ Solo over V̶a̶a̶n̶ Luke any day.
@SirKero
No
I found it more surprising that Danny Trejo is an Animal Crossing fan than the Star Wars writer.
this has nothing to do with star wars hes done other things you people are aweful
@Heavyarms55 First off thank you for presenting your comment in a civilized manner, secondly, he also wrote a lot of other things, that is just one of his latest credits. He is an accomplished comic book and novel writer as well. Gary Whitta is an amazing gentleman. One of the best guys on the internet.
Check him out on Animal Talking as well as Kindy Funny Games Daily's Whitta Wednesdays and a multitude of other shows.
He also, in the beginning, came onto Kinda Funny's shows bringing British snacks for them to try. It was a grand old time for sure.
