If you love nothing more than designing homes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons - and happen to be pretty good at it, too - you could find yourself earning up to £40 an hour as part of a new service dreamt up by Olivia's, a luxury homeware brand.
The new service has been designed to hire talented Animal Crossing players who have an eye for interior design and know the game's catalogue of items inside out. Players who are feeling stuck with their own designs can hire these specialists to check out their island and help them get the house of their dreams.
If you want to submit an application, you can do so here. Applicants will be asked to provide a brief description of relevant experience along with their CV, and you'll obviously need a copy of the game on Switch and a good internet connection. Apparently, you "can expect to earn upwards of £40/hour" for your services, but you can choose your own rates.
Alternatively, if you're reading this and thinking that a visit from a talented designer would be good for your island, you can register your interest in hiring a consultant here. You'll be able to discuss desired styles and find practical solutions along with your consultant in real-time.
Is this the eSports competition equivalent for Animal Crossing? Imagine having 'Interior Designer - Animal Crossing' on your CV. Amazing.

Animal Crossing - the social network of the New Twenties.
I'm actually pretty surprised by this even though it shouldn't be that surprising. Wow, lol
People can do what they like with their own money and all but.....wtf?!
Is it April the 1st again?
I might apply - I have a Masters Degree in Feng shui & I'm a qualified auditor for the Happy Home Academy
I have to admit, I'd totally sign up for this if I had New Horizons.
I think I've played enough of Happy Home Academy to build people their dream homes!
The article title read like like one of those irritating adverts earn hundreds of £££ working from home!
Where are the people who bashed Happy Home Designer now?
I like that underwater theme in the article! No way would I pay someone 40 quid to do it for me though..but I admire anyone that can earn money out of nothing, so good luck to the if people are willing to pay for it
Wow! Is that legit do you think or just a very clever way to sign you up to their subscription service??
I would like to get my house properly designed sure but not like this. Seems like a waste of money to me. I wonder who comes up with these kinds of things. And if anyone would even hire these people and if so... how much they'll actually earn.
If people are stupid enough to pay it, hell go for it
People have to be creative with how they can earn a living during these times. I'm surprised more that we're not hearing about this kind of stuff more.
So is this the Animal Crossing version of people paying other people money to play their MMOs for them?
Or something along that line?
Just that this maybe has more involvement than mashing a button for hours at a time.
I'm reminded of a saying about fools and their money.
If you got 40 euros an hr to spend on animal crossing please donate your money to those in need.
I can't believe people are still finding ways to start an actual business making real life currency using ACNH, pretty sure Nintendo never imagined any of this would happen. I wonder how they feel about all of this?
I've been looking for that sea wall since new leaf, lmao This image makes me so jellly...
