Before balloons and eggs took over pretty much everything, Animal Crossing: New Horizons' biggest annoyance was bass. No matter where, when, or how you decided to fish, bass seemed to be everywhere (and still are really), and this new parody video no doubt sums up your feelings perfectly.
The folks at Girlfriend Reviews have shared this alternative version of Billie Eilish's Bad Guy ('Bass Guy', get it?) complete with a montage of familiar bass-catching scenes. It's well worth a watch just for the laughs, but the editing and attention to detail is also spot on.
Ironically, even with all of the Water eggs appearing in the water at the moment, bass remain unaffected and are still roaming the seas and rivers in great quantities. Thankfully, it would appear that Nintendo has somewhat reduced the egg spawns for the time being, so we can go back to catching just bass over and over again in peace.
Brilliant!

That was... pretty freaking amazing.
Girlfriend Reviews was one of those channels that YouTube was constantly suggesting I watch, even though it sounded super cringy. One of them popped up on autoplay and cracked me the hell up, so I watch a couple more. Now I've watched everything on that channel, and always get excited to see something new uploaded.
Their quality of song parodies is good enough that I can easily see this becoming a regular thing. I hope they keep em coming!
Nintendo please patch guy
Awesome video, they did a great job.
This kind of made my day so far. Really well done parody and I liked the original song anyway.
I had to pause twice because I was laughing too hard. The humour in the editing was amazing.
I've never heard the orginal song, but I enjoyed the video. I like her channel. Her review for Breath of the Wild is what hooked me and I can't wait for her full video about Animal Crossing.
I thought it was a great watch! Very well done!
When a parody is better than the original...
I watched this yesterday. I had a feeling it was going to turn up on the Nintendolife front page.
It's a good parody but this type of music has and will always be objectively bad
Girlfriend Reviews is one of the best gaming YT channels these days. This parody, while not a full AC:NH review (certainly forthcoming) is GLORIOUS.
This was so good! Had me chuckling the whole time. Love Billie Eilish and was excited to see Girlfriendreviews do this!
Anything with Billie Eilish isn't worth watching, parody or not. Sorry, I can't hop on the mediocrity train.
I kinda like Billie Eilish music, although her voice often leaves me tears eyed.
At least a C+.
More words needed, to break my joke. Thanks NL.
That's a nice parody.
@PickledKong64 You clearly meant "subjectively", not "objectively". If you want to be objective, you must admit the song is great, seeing how many awards it won.
All about that bass.
@MaciejKuczynski That would be true if winning industry awards were an objective measure of greatness, but anybody who's seen the Oscars or the Grammy's (or the Game Awards) knows it's not.
Not that I personally care what music people like. An opinion can't be "objectively wrong"... but people are allowed to disagree with it.
@monkeydude Of course, people can love or hate whatever they want. But their personal opinion is not objective truth. I also realise that Grammy's etc. are not objective measures and I'm open to hearing about other, more objective ones. The number of albums sold, perhaps?
As far as I know, we can objectively say that "Bad Guy" is a song and "Bass Guy" is its parody. Whether we like them or not, that's opinion, and we're all equally correct in them.
@MaciejKuczynski I am the basis of all opinions.
It's awesome to see girlfriend reviews being mentioned here. They're the best YT channel for casual players like me and my wife.
This parody is trash, and the people that like this have bad taste in music. I’m just joking about that, but it seems like a parody song to drive your enemies crazy?
I never really noticed until now. Thanks a lot bassholes.
I'll take sea bass over more useless eggs. I have enough eggs to craft basically everything more than twice over at this point...
@RPGamer Lol that's what I was thinking when I saw it
