Can you believe it? Animal Crossing: New Horizons is due out on the Switch next month and we're still waiting for Nintendo to show and tell us more about this anticipated release.
In the latest ad for the game, we get a look at the title screen in New Horizons. Yes, exciting stuff! It shows one of the Nooklings walking around on the screen, and more interestingly has a separate section for the save data settings. As noted by GameXplain, this will presumably be where you go to clear your island or transfer it (if that it does end up being an option).
Below are some more screens from this ad (click/tap to enlarge):

I wish they'd show big, bearded, 30 year old men acting excited about this game with their burly friends. Because that's me, and I want representation.
the ad just wasn't great to begin with. it didn't show anything off except one lady with too much nailpolish goin WOAH THIS THING I DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT IS CUTE!
egh. they need to work on these 'ads'
Mmmmmmmmmmm! Those graphics are so good!
@SpaceboyScreams : No love for us bearded, 30, but skinny blokes?
@SpaceboyScreams *bro-five!
Yeah I am really looking forward to this one actually. Since I wasn't a fan of the 3DS I didn't really play it much on that but I am probably going to play this one a lot more since I love the Switch Lite.
The thing that caught me in this ad was they are apparently supposed to be mother and daughter... I thought they were sisters! The mother doesn't look remotely old enough to have a daughter that age! I'm not trying to be rude about it, but she only looks a couple years older!
Any Animal Crossing news is good news!
@Silly_G
I would love a commercial with someone like this. The true audience (at least a part that never gets represented with this genre of games)
This game will sell a lot amongst women
Yes, exciting stuff indeed...
I think it's time for a Direct.
Come on March 20th
@mother_brain_85 : It seems that the insecure emasculated boys have downvoted you. Have a heart from me.
If it's even half as good as New Leaf was, it'll be one of the best games on the system. Super excited for this!
This game looks so good! March 20 can’t come soon enough!
@SpaceboyScreams goodness I’ll trade you as I’m sick of all the ads geared towards females being pastel colored home/cooking/fashion/cute animal games. Can I get a female only ad playing a fighting game? As I too want representation. Sigh. It’s 2020 y’all.
@oh_no_melon Commercials could easily show older fans (well, I'm 28) interacting with young fans. I love showing games to my coworkers kids at staff events. Like other commenters said, get some representation! That being said, I don't watch commercials....
@oh_no_melon : Good call. No creativity at all. An ad with some of the animals sneaking in and causing havoc however would have been both cool and wickedly adorable.
The ad is called "Nintendo Switch My Way", maybe they're launching a new campaign. With different gamer profiles playing the same game. And maybe Nintendo decided to roll out the "white mother and daughter straight outta wysteria lane" version first. Maybe "elderly gay throuple" is next.
and not a single animal was seen in that trailer!
That side on waterfall tho
Okay, I am getting very excited and I am wondering when I will switch off game media. As we get closer to launch, I really don't want to hear spoilers, minor criticisms, etc. I definitely don't want to hear or know about game reviews and scores.
I am thinking March 1st I will stop game media, oh, it will be hard!
@SpaceboyScreams well it rated e for everyone .
Ads sometimes just need to leave a broad impression. This one aimed at moms and families is, “this is safe fun family play together time”. It’s not CoD or whatever weirdness is going on with the expensive set up in the older brother’s room.
Is it asinine and uncreative? Yes. Does it leave an impression that it’s is a game anyone can p,ay and is fun, cute? Yes. Job done for this particularly group.
For the rest of us, we know the score....this game will be a super fun, relaxing, escapist time sink. I played this as a single young bloke and had a blast and now I will play it with my youngster as a dad. Can’t wait!
How come most American women have such deep voices? I mean the daughter in the advert sounds like Barry White. Is it to do with all the GM food over there plus all the steroids in their beef?
@SpaceboyScreams I'm right there with you.
@oh_no_melon For sure! Way more creative and interesting! I’d imagine the ad company had a brief that mandated emphasis on “real human emotion” etc....sometimes, bad ads aren’t the agency fault but a restrictive brief.
You should definitely get into the ad game though, I’d totally watch the ad you described!
I'd take anything to see more of those fantastic graphics, please!
Does anyone know what the song is on the Christmas advert & who is singing it?
