It has been nearly two years since Super Rare Games arrived on the limited print physical scene and in that time it has put out a large number of Switch games on those deliciously bitter little cartridges.
In an upcoming interview with Nintendo Life, company overseer George Perkins reveals that Super Rare - far from slowing down - has plenty more lined up for Nintendo's console beyond its current lineup of 26 games and the upcoming World of Goo physical release, with an impressive 18 physical games currently in different stages of production. Discussing how the company has grown in the past two years, Perkins had this to say:
Our slots have begun filling up quicker and quicker. At the moment we have 18 games lined-up already, which is crazy!
The company is devoted to giving quality indie games a physical release and the team focuses solely on Nintendo's console. Perkins goes on to reveal that Super Rare has other projects in the works besides the physical Switch releases we've seen from them until now:
We have a few secret projects in the works that really could elevate what we are doing to the next level, so hopefully we can share more in the next year about that! This would be something completely separate from what we are doing at the moment and would really diversify what we are trying to achieve as a company.
With the market for physical Switch games looking very healthy, it's only natural that companies are looking to branch out. Exactly what this means is unclear right now, but if the quality of Super Rare's products to date is reflected in whatever these 'secret projects' are, they will certainly be worth keeping an eye on in the coming year.
These quotes are taken from an upcoming interview which will be published here on Nintendo Life later in the week. In the meantime, let us know which indie games you'd like to be included in that list of 18 upcoming physical releases and what you think those secret projects could possibly be below.

All i want is Untitled Goose Game as physical, PLEASE!!!
They've previously stated that they're keen on Nintendo Switch games in particular, so it makes me wonder if they're looking to do something other than gaming, that isn't PS4 games for example.
Maybe they're looking to do other kinds of merch with the graphic design talent they have on board?
Please be physical for these games :
1. A Knight's Quest
2. Farm Together
3. Untitled Goose Game
I know it is not an Indie game, but I would like a physical copy of Okami, but I also assume that would be done by Capcom, or whoever the big player is who owns the rights.
On the Indi front, I would like to see The Touryst, and still waiting on that elusive physical edition of Cuphead. Does anyone know what happened to that?
@Ste
Shop around, there's already a physical release for Okami.

It's a Japanese release, but the game has English language options.
Honestly, if there's a game you want physically for the Switch, try searching. You'll be surprised which may already be available.
I recently learned that titles like Xeodrifter, Ittle Dew, Kero Blaster, and Donut County are getting physical releases, but from places you're probably not familiar with like Redart Games, iam8bit, or 1Print Games.
@Ste I also heard nothing on Cuphead’s release. I think that it will still come when the dlc is done and they will release as a complete package.
@Ste
Oh, yeah. 😃
Touryst should be considered in physical release.
Alien isolation and grid plz
@Anti-Matter I'd read that a Knight's Quest was pretty buggy on release...has it been pretty well patched up?
@Bunkerneath me too. I’ve liked their merch and design so much, I’m sure they could bring out a special edition. Ay was throw in those cool socks they would get cold hard cash thrown at their beaks!
Looking forward to physical releases for Little Inferno and Human Resource Machine, if the rumors are true.
@Ste there is a Japanese Physical release of Okami already, and it’s fully in English, if you’re keen to import.
@RupeeClock xeodrifter, really, from whom?

I haven't been able to pull the trigger as $50 is a little much for Drifter. Loved the game but not that much.
I've gotten 5 or so releases from SRG and so far I've been fairly happy with them. I would say in general their lineup has lacked the quality of LRG but it's still pretty solid.
@wratih9 thank you. I was able to purchase it!
Also
Would love physical for Steamworld Dig 1 (because 2 is already out physically) and Steamworld Heist. LRG still hasn’t released their Blaster Master Zero
Physics yet, either..
@Ste I imported the physical from Play Asia (@RupeeClock provided a link) and it switches automatically to English when inserted into the Switch and plays perfectly.
@wratih9
It's indeed a lot to pay, Xeodrifter is often available digitally for around £1, same issue that Downwell had.
I bought Xeodrifter for €36.74 including shipping, which isn't as severe as $50.
SRG's releases have been pretty good, but some widely vary in appeal. Some are really strong entries like Snake Pass, SteamWorld Quest, and Evoland, but then there's ones like Smoke and Sacrifice which I think they produced too many copies for.
Fingers cross that some of them are these:
Fast RMX
Ori and the Blind Forest
Grandia I & II HD Collection
Cuphead
Untitled Goose Game
Cadence of Hyrule
Earth Wars
Doom Trilogy
I hope more high profile indies choose to go with super rare for their physical editions as they do a stellar job with their games. The super rare games that I’ve gotten have been of great quality. I thought the covers and included materials were of excellent design, and I really love the collectible cards for all their games.
More than I can say for Limited Run, which often has better games but seems to phone it in on some of its case designs and extras. The cover for my edition of Kingdom New Lands was downright ugly and grainy. I can barely even read the font on the back!
@retro_player_22 oh yeah, would love Cadence (in a double pack with Crypt?). Plus I think MDHR already promised a physical for Cuphead, but I believe they are waiting until after the DLC is out.
The thing I always got against these guys is how they always overprice the games, like they expect you to pay over $30 for a game that can be easily bought digitally for $10 or less. Then there's the way they only produce a few copies so everything sells out really quickly. The whole thing is just some overpriced market.
@JayJ
I've heard that there is apparently a minimum RRP for physical Nintendo Switch games. The price is also reflective of the physical publication process, not solely the software itself.
The number of units produced is also in-line with the demand, most consumers are content to get the cheapest and most convenient option.
Super Rare Games have been struggling to sell-through some of their stock as it is.
@retro_player_22
While I like to see these happen as well, I would really be surprised if Super Rare would be able to get their hands on publishing those...
