Smooth launches for online services and video games rarely happen nowadays, so it's no surprise to hear Pokémon Home – the new mobile and Nintendo Switch app compatible with Sword and Shield, Let's Go, Pokémon Bank and eventually Pokémon GO – has seemingly encountered some hiccups in its first week.
According to the Pokémon website Serebii.net, when you complete your National Pokédex in Pokémon HOME, you'll receive an "Original Color" Magearna in the mobile version of the game that looks like a Poké Ball. The problem is, it's not showing up for everyone right away, and some trainers who fulfill the requirement supposedly aren't even receiving it:
Serebii.net: At present, the gift isn't being given to all people with a completed Pokédex and appears to be a staggered launch. Due to the strange activity with it, we're currently investigating and are trying to get further details
On top of this, some Pokémon Home users on social media are reporting receiving the "normal colored" version of Magearna, and other "conflicting reports" are claiming users received glitched ones with the wrong moves.
This particular Magearna is Level 50 when you receive it, comes with any nature, and has Soul-Heart as its ability. Its colours are based on its look "hundreds of years ago" and as previously seen in Pokémon the Movie Volcanion & The Mechanical Marvel (as can be seen in the image at the top of the page).

Sad thing is, i'm not even surprised, pokemon home is just a mess (the gts and wondertrade to be precise; transfering and storing pokemon works fine)
I've got a full Dex but on the Pokedex screen it's showing missing Pokemon, but when I go into Home itself they are there. Buggy app is buggy.
I always forget that Magearna is a thing.
@UmbralChaos there are 890 pokemon but the in app dex has 1.250 entries. They include mega’s, Gmax’s and basically everything that has a unique dex description and shiny and model as a seperate entry.

@darkswabber the pokedex is buggy indeed. I have 6 Ekans in my Pokemon Home storage, but Pokedex shows blank for Ekans in the Pokemon Home Pokedex. Same with other pokemon for me like Charmeleon, Glameow, Durant etc.
Would be a nice long term goal if it wasn't limited to the first month.
I completed my National dex on Pokemon Home today. Number shows 890 and there does not appear to be any glitches but no sign of Magearna. 😕
@mariomaster96 GTS and Wonderbox work fine the only thing that doesn't work is free trade room
Nothing about Sword and Shield's local or Wi-Fi connectivity has been remotely smooth, in fact I'd call my experience with trying to trade with friends a nightmare. Big surprise that their app has problems too. Another example of Game Freak pretending there is no problem so they don't have to spend money on fixing it.
Some hiccups including losing all your Pokémon from Bank. Literally the worst case scenario of what could go wrong.
I remember Game Freak delaying Pokemon Bank years ago because it was an absolute unstable nightmare when it first released, why they didn’t do that here as well is beyond me.
People should be getting refunded and compensated for this mess.
i have the full 153 DEX in Let's Go Pikachu but I'm missing some in Home.

Wonderbox takes hours to trade and the gts allows user to request pokemon that cant even be traded (like mysticals) for which reason there are too many nonsense tradeoffers in which reasonable offers get lost
I don't have Pokemon Home, I am waiting for Go capabilities. I don't have 3ds Pokemon to send to Sword. My question is; what is the National Dex for Pokemon Home? Is it the Galar Dex, or 800 some Pokemon to complete the dex?
Missing diancie and some of the mons of ultra sun and moon so I wont be able to complete it. Alsof a special version of a pokemon you can't move to sword and shield....
GTS needs to be fixed. Been trying to get a Zamazenta so I can complete my Dex is Sword, but everyone wants mystical for it that aren’t even available anymore, or that people want mysticals even for other Pokémon that aren’t legendary.
I have a complete Pokédex of 890, but had to revisit some older games to send them across and force them to register to Home's National Dex. Despite this, I still don't have the Pokéball Magearna and I am checking my Mystery Gift every day for it.
The GTS is a mess because everyone only wants Legends, Mythicals, which can't be traded (Phione seems popular for some reason).
Wonder Box takes about 6 hours or so before it actually trades and Room Trades don't tend to work (I've had it work once since launch).

There are trade codes that are used for trading version exclusive Pokémon. There’s a thread on Reddit listing them all. If you’re lucky they might even trade your original back, make sure it’s still holding its item though.
I traded and got mine back from a very nice moderator of a Pokémon stream on Twitch.
Alternatively, there will be downloads of both the legendarys at some point there always is.
@JesWood13 thats not new to home, it's been a problem with the GTS since they banned mythical, event & purified shadow pokemon trading in gen 6 as a measly attempt to stop hacked mons from circulating. not only did it not even remotly work, it also made it easier for trolls to infest it. you would think after 7 years of this they'd have the sense to remove mythical pokemon names from the selection list...
I completed the national dex and it shows 890 but NO reward...kind of irritated that I wasted time on it.
Has anyone gotten their Magearna yet? Finished the national dex yesterday and I still haven’t received anything 👎🏽
