Love 'em or hate 'em, Funko Pop figures are seemingly here to stay. In its latest reveal, Funko has announced four new additions to the Pokémon line. They might not necessarily be what you expected, either.
There's Pop! Vulpix, Pop! Pichu, Pop! Mewtwo and perhaps the most unexpected of the lot is Pop! Mr. Mime. The official website and social media updates simply say they're "coming soon", so we'll update you when Funko locks in a release date.

Love them or hate them? I wouldn't say I "hate" them, but I certainly don't like them. It still surprises me that these things sell. They're so ugly and the production quality is so low...
But I guess they appeal to the people who like quantity over quality. Personally I'd rather one nice high quality Japanese produced collectible figure on my shelf, rather than a dozen of these ugly things.
Looks like they've done the impossible and created a Mr. Mime whose appearance, just for once, won't give me nightmares.
Make that money Nintendo. More of this.
There's also a new Shantae Pop coming too.
These things are definitely marmite, but I have a theory as to why they sell well.
In the UK these are in all video game stores and toy shops. And they are generally some of the only video game character available.
Kids don’t know that other versions of their favourite characters exist online. They only see what is available in store. And they mix marvel and comic book characters in and other things, so there is wide appeal.
It isn’t that these are the best models, but for some the only way (that they know of) to get their favourite characters from movies and games.
Until an alternative arrives, we’re stuck with them.
@Heavyarms55 i one billion % agree. i also never understood why these things sell.
I think it really boils down to price with these things. They're a lot cheaper and more readily available than most figures.
I'll probably pick up Vulpix and add a small white dot to each eye. The same could be done for Pichu to remove the look of soullessness
I don't mind these things in theory, I just wish they didn't take up quite so much space in shops. Last time I was in Forbidden Planet in Cardiff they were practically an entire aisle.
Oh, good more soul less dead eyes cheaply produced monstrosities.
And these damn things are expensive as well.
I don't even like amibo's and i'd rather have those .
Jesus Christ.
Pop culture was a mistake
I don't necessary like Funko Pop stuff, but I'd probably pick up Mr. Mime, just for the discomfort factor. I do collect Nendoroids, so I can see the allure of the Funko stuff. They're cheaper, easily available (heck, I've seen some in my local supermarket), and they tend to shadow western pop culture more than Nendoroids, making Funko Pops an easier sell. Still, just /sigh.
Pop Mime is what nightmares are made of
Agreed with the above, say what you want about Funko, be it cute or creepy. But Funko Pop Mr. Mime is 100% pure extra virgin nightmare fuel.
I love that Mewtwo
I will totally get Mr. Mime possibly Mewtwo as well. Mr. Mime has and always be my favorite pokemon. Probably why Mr. Rime is kick butt as my lead in Sword.
These things are so ... ugly and cheap looking, I would honest to god not take any of them for free.
I don't understand the vehement hatred people have for these things. If you like them, cool. If you don't, who cares? They're harmless and relatively inexpensive.
Echoing the sentiment of many here, I have never understood the appeal.
I think the figures are alright and kind of cute. I kind of like funko pop figures because they started out near where I live, so I see them in every store I go to. I've never bought one, but I can see why their popular. I think pichu looks the best because the big eyes work for him and pichu is my sister's favorite pokemon. Vulpix also looks good.
