Back in December, The Pokémon Company revealed that a brand new online-exclusive anime would be kicking off this year. It's wasted absolutely no time in getting the first episode up, so make sure to check it out above.
The series, called Pokémon: Twilight Wings, will contain seven episodes in total and is set in Pokémon Sword and Shield's Galar region. Here's a synopsis:
John is a young boy who’s been hospital-bound from an early age. Ever since he saw his first Pokémon battle on TV, he’s been a big fan of Champion Leon—and he’s dreamed of watching one of Leon’s matches in a stadium. Could a visit from Chairman Rose pave the way for his dreams to come true?
What do you think? Looking forward to seeing the next six episodes? Share your thoughts with us below.

Sort of like a spiritual successor to Pokemon Origins. I like it!
Too bad there's no option for japanese audio/english subtitles, always prefer original dub
Not to sound like a weirdo, but Nessa looks so hot when she is animated. Too bad she most likely will not appear in the main anime. Pokémon 2019 seems to "Go" in a different direction.
Lol, as expected but those voice overs....in all these years english voice overs of anime is still terrible. Only exception being a few movies, Slayers the anime series and even Detective Conan.
I'm not crying, just something in my eye.
Love the detail with whenever Corviknight moved around, you could hear metal clattering together, just like a knight's armor.
@RareFan Don't be counting those Pokeballs yet.
@RareFan No no no, you don't sound weird at all.....
Chairman Rose is so awesome. He's just a really great guy that can do no wrong.
These are so much better than the anime
@Samuel-Flutter he can do no wrong...heh.
@RareFan
....huh?
So at long last ash is now done well kinda will miss ash.
@ShinyUmbreon Ash is the best 30 year old in a 10 year old body there is!
@LzWinky True but ash beat the aloan region so I dont see the point.. sadly unless it's ashs dad past time xd
@RareFan That makes no sense at all. I don't see that as a reason she wouldn't be in the main Pokemon Anime.
@TAndvig idk if you're talking about just pokemon shows but personally I like naruto's dub despite its problems. But shows with great dubs are Boku no Hero, One Punch Man, Mob Psycho (I prefer the sub still), Samurai Champloo, 91 Days and Cowboy Bebop. That's plenty of shows with good dubs. Dont know what you're talking about
@RareFan you sound weird. Isnt she like 10?
@PickledKong64 Cowboy Bebop have good dubs sure. But when you take into consideration the amount of shows outt there and amount of shows that have dubs. No, I would absolutely say that in general dubs are terrible for Anime shows. And by this time they should have figured it out.
@RareFan Dude....she looks like she's 15....shame on you...
Now this is pretty neat this series! I wish it had more than 7 episodes though.
Love the artstyle. Wish the episodes were longer, but for what it is, it looks good
Nessa is never 10 years old. With a body like this, she must be at least 18 years old.
Pokemon: Pilotwings confirmed
@bluesdance could actually be a cool spinoff.
@Samuel-Flutter To be fair, Chairman Rose was a guy who did bad things for good reasons. Despite how lacking Sword and Shield are in the story department, Chairman Rose is one of the series' best villains. He has a solid reason for doing what he does, and doesn't do it just because he wants to take over the world or whatever, he just wants to help the people Galar, which is a lot more than most Pokemon antagonists can say.
@SwitchLife I honestly didn't see the big bad guy switch coming with him. I for sure thought it was going to be the secretary.
@ToonStuff I didn't understand his urgency there at the end. Like Leon was on board with the plan if he waited one more day.
idk was it worth it to spend money to make this...hard to say
@Samuel-Flutter I wouldn't call Rose bad he had good intentions just went about everything the wrong way
Rose seemed like a character were much more could have been done with him and wasn't. His sudden turn just seemed poorly done. Like they forgotten they needed an antagonist and tacked on his plan at the last minute. I actually wish those weird brothers were the antagonist all along. They were far more interesting in the little post game than he was the entire game
@UmbreonsPapa i would not be surprised if that was the case, given that the villains have been getting more & more idiotic since x&y.
lusamine was an exception to this in sun & moon, mostly cause she went completely insane and with good reason too do so, but then got watered down in usum.
i'm also still irked that the rainbow rocket grunts where so inept in contrast to the regular rocket grunts. the og grunts where at least competent enough to rebuild & run the organization within a couple years without their leader.
i'm also still irked by the fact that you didn't have to battle your way though a room full of grunts. it was disappointing to me that they messes up and got scattered around rather then it being a round-robin tournament-esce fight with the lot of em.
@TAndvig I dunno. I always thought ADV Film's dubs of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and "Azumanga Daioh" were pretty decent, as well as Funimation's dubs of "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid" and "Rebuild of Evangelion."
But I think we can all agree that DiC did a terrible dub of Sailor Moon, and 4Kids did terrible with everything.
That was very well done. I enjoyed it more than any episode of Pokémon I’ve seen since Origins.
@TAndvig @PickledKong64 Hey ease up guys, it’s not like we know RareFan’s age...maybe he’s 13.
@TAndvig @PickledKong64 I agree about the voice overs in MHA. They are fantastic and really do a great job at capturing emotion. I’ve got goosebumps more than once from the feelings conveyed in some of those scenes.
@Supadav03 true but shes just a drawing. But their is beauty in art I guess
