There have been a number of Nintendo-related rumours flying about recently and now the "prolific" leaker Sabi – who has a respectable track record, we might add – is claiming there'll be a Paper Mario game released this year (presumably for Switch), that goes "back to how it was", along with a 2D Metroid game seemingly "related" to the Game Boy Advance original, Metroid Fusion.
If this rumour does turn out to be something more, it would definitely good news for Nintendo fans. The Paper Mario series has struggled to live up to expectations since the 2004 GameCube release (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door) and Metroid Fusion – released in 2002 – is easily one of the best Metroid games of all time.
As for the individual who posted the tweets, they've got a strong track record and are previously known for leaking a number of major stories last year before E3. They even received a cease and desist from a lawyer representing Nintendo, to prevent any further damage.
What do you make of this rumour, though? Would you like to see Paper Mario return to how it was? How about another adventure with Samus that's tied to Metroid Fusion? As always, share your thoughts below.

Could be fun. There's not a lot to look forward to at the moment
Paper Mario back to how it was, but how far back? Back to before Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam? Before Colour Splash? Before Sticker Star? If they mean back to the original format that was TTYD then I'm excited. If they mean it's going back to more like Sticker Star was, I'm less excited
I'll take Metroid.
I take all rumours with a hefty pinch of salt, but I would love a proper Paper Mario and a sequel to Fusion.
I usually don't give a lot of weight to leaks, but given Nintendo sent this person a letter telling him to knock it off gives me pause. If be happy with either of these.
Excited for both if true. Would love a good Star Fox game as well!
@Baker1000 Yeah, Sticker Star was disappointing.
Give me Donkey Kong!
Super Metroid Maker. Because I can think up leaks and rumours, too.
Can't say I'm falling off my chair with excitement. I'd rather get the rumored Metroid Prime Trilogy Remake. But if we get both, then I'm pleased.
@HeyItsFlapjack Did Nintendo actually do that? Either way I wish this person would knock it off. It kind of ruins the surprise when these titles are eventually officially revealed, and if not true just builds unnecessary excitement leading to disappointment.
for paper mario i’ve only played the original and super. i love both. if they make it like the original i hope they port ttyd beforehand so i can finally play that. if it’s like super i’ll be happy but also surprised because it seems like a lot of ppl hate that one
@Baker1000 Mario&Luigi: Paper Jam wasn't a Paper Mario Title, it was a Mario&Luigi Title which featured Paper Mario
No, he's partially wrong! Nintendo is actually making one game. A game that will be so awesome that not even I can handle the mere thought of it. You see, Nintendo is making Fusion Paper Mario Metriod! Dun dun dunnnnnnn!
WarioWare pleeeeeeaseeeee!!!!!
Both those points if true are cause for excitement. Mind you I still haven't finished TTYD but the first two games were always the most interesting ones (colour splash felt lifeless).
Leaks are legitimately spoilers. Reporting them is bad journalism and a disservice to your readers. At the very least, mark these articles as spoilery, so that we can decide whether to read them or not.
Please be true. Please be true. Please be....
Yeah and the mother trilogy collection will be released on switch this year too! Sources say! (Does my best Dr. Evil impression)
Riiiiiiiiight!
Would love a new paper Mario with a strong story actually
nope don't believe it i'm not getting my hopes up for a new Paper Mario and watching every Direct for no Paper Mario to be shown off
I hope that the new Paper Mario can return to its roots. TTYD is not just the best entry, but one of the best Mario games of all time. Would love to see a HD port too.
Couldn't we just get a sequel to the original Mario RPG? I mean that's what we all really want isn't it? Paper mario hasn't been good since TTYD.
Both of those would be must buys for me. I love paper Mario. Though I prefer Mario & Luigi. And a follow up to fusion 😍
The thing I'm the most hype about from this leak chain is the VB Wario Land remake - one of my favourite platformers of all time!
Another paper Mario along the lines of TTYD would make me a very happy gamer.
A Fusion reboot or sequel or whatever would also be superb. Both day one!
I first played Fusion on Wii U VC and absolutely loved it. It is a very nice looking gaming too, especially considering it's a GBA game. A sequel would make me very happy. Paper Mario not so much as I didn't like TTYD and that's supposedly the best one.
Imagine if this game is real.
I'm always up for some metroid especially a 2D one.
@Anti-Matter oh man you’re getting me hyped!
Miyamoto. Toads....More stacks of toads...
2d metrìod.. that's good I thought they might have killed that series for 3d.
Eh never got into Paper Mario but a 2D Metroid would do even if I would prefer a Metroid Prime HD Collection
I grew up on Paper Mario, I'd love for a new one with partners. Hated Sticker Star and didnt care for Super Paper Mario, but the first and TTYD are very dear to my heart, and I had a great time with Colour Splash.
I think it's about time we get a new paper mario game. But I hope that if they make a new one, it will be more like The Thousand Year Door. That was one of my favorite GameCube games.
I hope the rumours are true, especially about Metroid.
That would be GLORIOUS!
the nintendo remake factory is going to be where some of the best games ever come from.
the Game Boy and GBA are a TREASURE TROVE of games waiting for a HD remake.
and maybe a Zelda 2 remake
a guy can dream
I thought a Direct would come in January but I doubt it now. Both Pokemon and Smash had their own mini-Directs so I bet Nintendo keeps silent for a while and tries to drum up sales for expansion passes. Both Pokemon and Smash announced DLC so they probably want people buying that for a while. I'm guessing the Direct isn't going to happen until February. There isn't much on the release schedule so I hope a lot of announcements are made.
Everyone needs to shift their perspectives away from "Metroid Fusion 2" and really see this as "Metroid 5" which is a far bigger deal (or at least I feel that way).
The original titles are all a continuous and cohesive story, which haven't progresses in EIGHTEEN YEARS. Fusion leaves off on a very interesting note, and I'd absolutely love to see where they would take it next.
No hate on the Prime series or anything, I just suck at FPS style games.
All that being said, I think a Fusion remake would be far more likely than a Fusion sequel. Especially with Prime 4 coming down the pipeline.
It would be fantastic for me I love Metroid 2d and also the Prime Trilogy I hope will arrive soon, I don't mind even Paper Mario on switch obviously !!
Paper Mario 4 Smash confirmed.
I’m all up for a new paper Mario than a remake. Atyd was great but wouldn’t it be nice to have new one too? Not like wii u
I miss Paper Mario 64 so much I want them to bring the games back to the way they used to be. They way they were supposed to be. Sticker Star and every paper mario game after it was just disappointing.
I'd say Super Paper Mario was the last great Paper Mario, but that might just be me.
Not getting my hopes up, but Paper Mario returning to its N64/GCN quality is one of my pipe dream releases alongside a new Golden Sun. Don't tease me like this, leaker.
What kind of people love to betray the people hiring their family and friends so badly?
Yeah I'd like some paper mario on the switch
If it's true, 2020 is set to be a good year as a Nintendo gamer
Zippo already said both of these on ResetEra about two weeks ago.
Rumors are rumors and obviously expectations need to be kept in check. I will say having no emotional attachment to either series (my attachment to Mario aside), I wouldn't be surprised to see something involving those games happen. That's just speculation based on the fact that Nintendo is clearly going to try to get as much out of the Switch for the next 2, 3 years. So at some point, they're going to have to start digging in their well of IPs to fill in some gaps. Whether they'll be ports or new entries, who knows. But you gotta think at some point, another Metroid (outside of Prime 4) and Paper Mario will make an appearance
Or a 2D Metroid or Paper Mario may never happen for the Switch, lol. Who knows with Nintendo 😄
Mercury Steam created a GREAT game engine for Samus Returns. Using that to build a new Switch game seems like no-brainer.
Ah rumors. After all the Smash rumors that have been proven false, I wouldn't trust anything, not matter how prolific the leakers are
As for the individual behind this rumour
Um, Sabi is not the source of this rumor. Sabi is simply repeating what was said by another confirmed insider at least a week prior, though that confirmed insider does not have a track record. They are confirmed to have legitimate sources though, and from what I was reading of their posts they don’t seem like they’re looking for attention. They never wanted this to be picked up by the media and was only sharing information within their little forum.
It’s possible Sabi got separate information. I won’t discount that possibility. But it does seem to me like they’re just reiterating what the other person said.
If we get Metroid 5 and a real Paper Mario game both in 2020, I'm gonna lose it
My ass is a prolific leaker too. I thought it was my age but perhaps I have inside info on upcoming games. Who knew?!
As long as hey make it buyers will be there.
Not sure if this is a legit second confirmation or just piggybacking on some already existing rumours started by another insider
Anyway I'm looking forward to it
Not sure if both games would be announced in the same direct, they're both worth of being the last announcement of it
@JaxonH I've reworded this.
We're all jumping at the rumours because the big N just won't straight out tell us in a direct. Hopefully we get something before Feb, because the pokemon stuff was good but I really want to know about more then 1 upcoming franchise.
Not gonna get my hopes up too high, I think I'll wait until Big N says something about them. A new 2D Metroid is always welcome in my eyes, but I would be especially excited if the next Paper Mario is more along the lines of 64 and TTYD. I really don't want another Sticker Star rehash...
Intriguing rumors indeed, though as usual we won't really know until Nintendo reveals whether or not these exist. Not gonna get my hopes up too much.
We're due for another Metroid entry IMO. I recently played Metroid: Samus Returns and would love another 2D game in that style. The newest Metroid Prime entry is clearly still a ways out.
As for Paper Mario, I'd welcome trying another game in the series. I've only played two (Super Paper Mario and Color Splash) and enjoyed both. I plan to play the first two eventually, though Thousand Year Door likely won't happen until it's ported to something other than the GameCube. XD
Now THIS would be a sweet duo to have this year! I really want to try out the paper mario series and I loved fusion. PLEASE.BE.TRUE.
Please stop spoiling stuff in the article names. Even if its just a stupid untrustworthy "leak" its not appreciated to have the surprise ruined
@Liam_Doolan
Oh, that’s fine. I didn’t mean to sound accusatory toward you. But I appreciate you going the extra mile to keep the record straight.
Was more just chiming in for the sake of readers on the fact Zippo originally leaked this a week ago, but they tried to keep it on the DL so it wouldn’t get reported on (since that draws attention and ya, that’s what drove King Zell away). Once Sabi got ahold of it though it got shouted from the rooftops.
But, Sabi has proven to be reliable of late, so I do think them vouching for this lends more credibility, whether they’re repeating Zippo or sourcing from somewhere else..
Now we’re talking. A brand new good Paper Mario (rather than a port of the lousy one that came out on Wii U) and Metroid 5 (yes, there’s really only been four standard 2D Metroid games). Hope it’s true.
Insert the “don’t give me hope” avengers meme here.
What if we are seeing Paper Geno?! Maybe even Mallow and some other SMRPG cameos?! Oh, very excited. And for Pete's sake, it's about time we learned how Human / Chozo / Metroid DNA Samus is doing.
This would be awesome if true!🤯 Please be a true Paper Mario, not color splash.
Hopefully, that is how I like my Metroid games. Never really got into Paper Mario games, but I'd give this one a chance.
@JaxonH Sabi piggybacks of other rumours and backpeddles a lot.
So good on you to question this particular "insider".
“The person I know is legitimate mentioned it being a sequel I believe”
I believe? Can’t he just double check? And wouldn’t he remember? A sequel to Fusion would be a megaton announcement. “I believe” is covering his butt when this turns out to be false.
Metroid Fusion 2.......yes
Not getting my hopes up as it’s all Rumours but both would be very welcome indeed
@antonio2244 We can never have enough Donkey Kong in our lives. The lore is quite unexplored too. Give me Donkey Kong!
@Silly_G Land first, and then Ware.
Ah yes, another “leaker”. Totally trustworthy.
I would love for a true Paper Mario to happen. Please #MakeItHappenNintendo
Although now that I see it, seeing as how AlphaDream released Bowser's Inside Story on the 3DS and it didn't sell well, having them go into bankruptcy, possibly having the Mario & Luigi series be just a flap in the wind (no pun intended) how do the sales of Sticker Star and Color Splash end up being? Intelligent Systems better not go bankrupt. They are popular for releasing Fire Emblem and Paper Mario.
I mean, Nintendo needs to announce SOMETHING for 2020.
As for the legitimacy of the leak: a new Metroid was hinted at the end of Samus Returns, and as far as I know Mercury Steam has been quiet about what they're working on. New Paper Mario seems reasonable, too. It'd be a fan-pleaser and not too expensive to make.
Both day one purchases for me. Is the leaker accepting pre-buys?
A sequel to Metroid 4 (Fusion) and a new Paper Mario RPG that goes back to its series root starting with the original and The Thousand Year Door would be excellent. Just as long as they don't screw up the graphics too much like Samus Return I would buy it day one.
Could this be? The fabled Metroid 5?
I grew up on 2D Metroid, so I've been dying for a sequel to Metroid Fusion for ages! I was heartbroken that Metroid Dread never panned out.
Although I have reservations about 2D Metroid using computer graphics moving forward. I missed out on Samus Returns on 3DS, but my experience with DS and 3DS titles with computer graphics always seemed to lack snappy and granular game design: just sort of weightless and lacking that palpable feeling.
Computer graphics also tend to lack good art styles and in my opinion generally come across as bland. Samus Returns' in-game footage just didn't look as interesting to me as Fusion and Zero Mission. Fusion especially really nailed the colorful, vibrant look while still featuring grotesque monsters and suspenseful atmosphere.
@HeyItsFlapjack Well, the cease and desist he received was last year, for the leaks concerning E3 2019, so the current leaks aren't under scrutiny (yet). Nintendo might also choose to ignore them, seeing as it isn't as big as an E3 presentation, and taking action also more or less confirms the leaks, so I guess we'll find out soon enough, assuming that a Direct is coming somewhere in the next couple of weeks.
@Tyranexx Concerning TTYD, you don't necessarily need a GameCube for that: there's always that Wii that you still need to kidnap back from your parents' house...
I loved Paper Mario 64, wouldn't mind more of that... Fusion was also great but being chased stressed me out a bit
I do love a good Paper Mario game! I hope the series continues.
If this is true it is BIG. Two of the favourite series of mine
I don't want to make any bet we WILL get such titles but on the other hand the timing would be good for it. All the biggest core franchises of the current era got their titles(even pokemon and Fire Emblem got their latest title last year) so the timing could be perfect to reintroduce franchise such as Paper Mario and others since the Switch is very much well established now.
@Baker1000 I think it's important for you to read this
https://askagamedev.tumblr.com/post/149984430220/so-with-the-release-of-metroid-federation-force
https://askagamedev.tumblr.com/post/149466049419/80-20-5
The remakes Nintendo are making are simply outstanding.
The demo of pokemon mystery dungeon is amazing the artwork and music and playing the game is so wonderful.
MercurySteam is being given a second chance at another mediocre Metroid remake?
It only received praise because people were desperate for a new 2D Metroid. Metroid Zero Mission is proof that Nintendo should keep remakes internal.
That Metroid game will do a good job of slaking the fans' thirst until the 4th Prime game comes out. Nice.
I'd kill for a new 2D Metroid in HD. I just hope it does something a bit fresh and interesting. I don't want to collect the same ten or so powerups we've been picking up since the 90s. New arsenal and mechanics please! 😍
A new Paper Mario sounds great too!
With gues star Byleth, I am sure.
Isnt this the girl who said we wouldnt get a nintendo character as a fifth reveal for smash bros?
I would gladly add both games to my collection.
I take both. Dont believe the rumour though
If even one of these is real, I'll take it.
If its a new Paper Mario, I'm ecstatic. If its a Thousand Year Door Remake, I'm very happy. But if its Paper Mario 64, then I will be hyped beyond comprehension. Please, Paper Mario 64. I want the Paper Mario 64 remake leak to be real. I need a wario land VB remake in my life. And FE 6/7. Please, Nintendo. Paper Mario 64.
I would want both, but I just hope that the next 2D Metroid is better handled than Samus Returns. Samus Returns at best is better than the Metroid and Metroid II. It's an average traditional Metroid game that had the benefit of releasing when Metroid fans were desperate for anything traditional from Metroid after Federation Force's release the year prior. I'll give Samus Returns credit for looking the part on the 3DS, because I thought it was graphically solid on the system. I want a better playing/designed game though if Mercury Steam is behind what's next for the series on Switch.
Yeah yeah whatever, give us actual proof instead of claims, those other claims that were true that this guys said could easily be guesses, make better leaks
@Yosher Not only that, it means more headaches for the Direct crews since now they have to do even more work to keep word from getting out, companies get pissed at Nintendo for letting that happen, and they're having to deal with constant reminders not to spoil the Directs despite it likely being someone they already told to knock it off repeatedly.
"A New Paper Mario game going back to it's Roots..."
please be true... please be true....
i haven't tried color splash yet, so i can 't say for sure if i like that one. however, i did tried sticker star and i was not a fan of it. happy for the people that are though.
I’d be all over a new Paper Mario like 64 or TTYD... hell, even Super was better than SS or CS.
No time for a hold your hand paper Mario.
But I’ll take Metroid fusion and shamus returns on the switch anyday!
@ThanosReXXX Good point, though I'm not sure when I'd be able to secure a physical copy of the game for a price I'd feel comfortable with. XD I'm one of those who has it on their "Port 2 Switch" wishlist.
"The Paper Mario series has struggled to live up to expectations since the 2004 GameCube release"
Think you meant since the 2007 Wii release Super Paper Mario. Right?
@Ulysses what about bloodstained ritual of the night. Computer graphics were great. Just not so great on the switch.
This is an exciting rumor. I am actually playing through all the Mario & Luigi games right now, most recently having beat Dream Team (amazing) and also finally finishing Paper Jam (also amazing; I’m mad I haven’t beaten it sooner!) and then on to Superstar Saga and Bowser’s Inside Story. So what I’m getting at is that whether this new Paper Mario is like any of the previous titles or like Mario and Luigi, I’ll be very happy. Sticker Star is definitely good, I love collecting stickers and sparkle stickers (and I love how they incorporated the accelerometer so you can make the stickers shine as you tilt the system), but I’d be a bit disappointed if they did that kind of thing again. Keep it like Mario and Luigi or previous titles and you’ve got a sale from me.
Now as far as Metroid, that is some great news. I’d love it if they like... bundled together a Switch version of Metroid: Samus Returns and this new Fusion whatever together and charged 60 because... we’ll just because. It’d be one epic arc to play through.
We shall see what happens! Exciting times!
Well, we are due a new paper Mario game, it will be four years since the last one this year. Is this rumour true? Dunno. Hope so, but I won’t get on the hype train just yet. I’ll check the hype train timetable instead.
Sabi is nothing but a loser ..I trust nothing he says..Plus the guy blocked me on twitter for asking a question..coward!
@Alpha008 I like your profile pic
@Baker1000 n64 the first paper mario game
I don’t see what y’all are complaining about with Sticker Star and Color Splash, those were really good. Super Paper Mario was meh though.
I’m most excited for the 2D Metroid, though. Ever sense beating Samus Returns I’ve wanted a Super Metroid remake, but Fusion would work better as I haven’t played the original.
As far as Paper Mario goes, I'll just say it: I actually liked all five games in the series (Paper Jam is a Mario & Luigi game. No exceptions...) and even my least favorite game Super Paper Mario is great at worst for me. Something about these games just always makes me warm within. However, I am hoping the rumor turns out to be true. SPM, once again, is a great game mainly for its story and characters, but the gameplay and RPG elements left a lot to be said for being too barebones (even for Mario standards), so if Intelligent Systems has any plans to return to that formula those two things need to have noticeable amount of meat to them. Sticker Star and Color Splash were fun for me for its unique ideas and I actually liked its resource-based attacks feature for one bit, but I don't how and where else the formula could go from there.
As for Metroid Fusion, I wasn't a big fan of that game on GBA due to its linear nature, but I did have fun with it for what it was. Then again, Super Metroid raised the bar high for me, leading to Fusion being a step down in many ways on my stage.
Rumors are rumors, but I hope this comes true.
"Paper Mario going back to how it was, in 2020"
Oh man! I've always wanted the series to go back to the style they had in 2007!
I love classic Paper Mario and 2D Metroid. I'm taking this with a grain of salt, but it'll be very cool if it's true. Any Nintendo Direct that presents both of these will become the best direct in my book.
Metroid Dread confirmed!?
@Sandro89
Why the downvotes? This year does look rather barren for the Switch.
@Tyranexx Yeah, shop prices are rather insane for this particular title. However, eBay prices aren't too shabby:
https://www.ebay.com/b/Paper-Mario-Thousand-Year-Door/139973/bn_7023476976
And of course, once you get that Wii back safely where it belongs, we're going to discuss enriching it with all kinds of stuff, so then any price won't even be an issue whatsoever...
I like 2D Metroid more than Metroid Prime, so I'd take that.
@Kang81 We are only 18 days into 2020. It's way too early to make judgements.
@kingbk
Yeah, it’s still early, but I’m not interested in a single thing on the Switch release calendar so far, so that’s worrisome for my personal use of the Switch.
Outside of Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Luigi’s Mansion, and possibly Metroid, I don’t care about any other Nintendo IP.
I’m not saying the Switch is in trouble, but for a lot of Switch users that don’t eat up every single Nintendo IP, yeah, 2020 looks barren.
It would make sense if Paper Mario is going back to the old style. With Alpha Dream gone, the Mario and Luigi games might be gone too. Now Nintendo can bring back the old Paper Mario gameplay without feeling like they are stepping on Alpha Dream's toes.
The Paper Mario game on the Wii was awesome!!!
@Baker1000 Given that the recent ones weren't received well, definitely back to what TTYD and 64 were.
@ThanosReXXX Until Nintendo decides to capitalize on TTYD by porting the game, that might not be a bad alternative.
I mean, a Switch (or even 3DS, although this is unlikely) remake of "Metroid: Fusion" makes sense, considering "Metroid: Samus Returns," which was itself a remake of "Metroid II: The Return of Samus," featured a scene at the end of the game of an X-parasite possessing an indigenous monster, almost as if Nintendo was teasing that a remake was in the works.
Now, I am fond of "Metroid: Fusion," but personally, I liked "Metroid: Zero Mission" more, as it was my first ever "Metroid" game, and I have a lot of good memories of that game and the sense of wonder I felt playing this franchise for the first time. I'd love to see a Switch or 3DS (again, unlikely for the latter) remake of that, even though the game itself is already a remake of the original "Metroid" for the NES.
Oh boy please be true. Paper Mario N64 and The Thousand Year Door are two of my favorite games of all-time. Super Paper Mario was pretty good but nothing amazing, and Sticker Star was decent at best. I heard Color Splash was better but never got around to picking it up. Fingers crossed Paper Mario returns to form later this year.
Additionally, getting a true Metroid 5 would be awesome. It’s been nearly TWO DECADES since Metroid 4 (Fusion) and each 2D title has been great. Fingers crossed for this as well.
I also hope a few smaller titles end up being announced, like Mario Golf and Super Mario Party 2. Just gotta keep waiting for the next direct I suppose 🙃
Fans of Mario RPGs need to be thrown a bone now, as recent entries in the Paper Mario series have not amused fans and the Mario and Luigi series is up in the air as the developer is dead, so even if its a TYOD HD Remaster, fans would see some hope at least...
...course, if you gave Square Enix a call.....
Paper Mario and 3D World both coming this year surely means Odyssey 2/new 3D Mario isn't happening this year.
Disappointing to be honest, I was hoping for a similar gap to Galaxy 1 and 2.
Puts a lot of pressure on BotW2 too. That must be the planned Q4 release for this year. Hope it doesn't get delayed...
Hopefully the Metroid one is true. We haven't had an original new 2D Metroid since 2002, and that's crazy! (Samus Returns on 3DS was more a remake)
Oh wow, finally a sequel to Fusion! I’d been wanting to know what comes next for Samus for ages as every game we’ve had since has (AFAIK) been a prequel.
I thought we’d be getting a remake of Fusion as that was suggested by the ending to Samus Returns but a sequel is even better!
Haven't even had the Direct yet, and too many games! My Switch collection is quickly outpacing all my other systems... https://youtu.be/WazQ5-2kN_A
Metroid Fusion sequel means actual progression in the timeline which has not happened since the original Fusion. That would be unexpected but very welcome at this point. I'd love for that to be true.
When there are these huge spans of time between releases and information in a franchise it is unfortunate that so much weight is placed on the next game arriving. I would rather Nintendo get some Metroid games going more regularly, so a misstep here and there is less crucial, and there is more chance for trying new things.
Prime Trilogy remaster and this new 2D game are a great way to tide fans over for the long wait until Metroid Prime 4, but I'll take anything else Metroid Nintendo wants to serve up, too.
@Tyranexx Just let me know whenever. At your service, and all that...
@ThanosReXXX Heh, will do!
Never got into Paper Mario games. Just weren’t my style of interest. Metroid could be fun though. Be interesting to see what is announced. Now if they announced another Wario Land or a new Yoshi’s Island, I WOULD LOSE MY MIND....
@Baker1000 I hope Breath of the Wild 2 goes back to how Zelda was before the Link's Awakening remake. I miss Breath of the Wild gameplay.
sarcasm
Well sabi is a fellow rei fan so I believe them
Simliar rumours have been circulating for quite some time, but this time, it has gained notoriety thanks to the reputation of the leaker.
A sequel to Metroid Fusion you say? I would love to see one...
But wait, I remember something similar happened before, when Emily Rogers suggested in 2016 a new Paper Mario game was in development before Color Splash was announced in March. I've had an idea for a Paper Mario game for Switch since last year that includes Joy-Con co-op and Partners
(If you want to know what makes a good Paper Mario game according to its fans, take a look at this: https://fantendo.fandom.com/wiki/Paper_Mario%3A_Color_Splash_RECUT)
And come on, Super Mario Party brought the series back to its much-beloved roots, I hope the same can be said for this new Paper Mario
The next general Direct can't come soon enough...
i hope this rumors turn up to be true, i would love to play a Paper Mario like the first two games of the series and a 2D Metroid game that could be a sequel of Metroid Fusion in my Nintendo Switch.
I don't trust any rumors that aren't from King Zell.
@nhSnork The fact that you mentioned can only mean that there's some truth to it right? I mean, that's what a rumor is no?
I wish nintendo would bring a new Mario RPG for the switch.
Im noy a big fan of papermario.
I would rather have Other M 2
@Kang81
To be fair, if you only like 5 Nintendo franchises you were never going to get a constant supply of first party software. You’re buying any Nintendo system for a few games. I’m not interested in any of the 4 first Party releases in the first quarter of the year but that’s fine.
Plus they’re bound to have plenty of stuff to announce for this year. The Switch is the exact opposite of ‘in trouble’
@Tyranexx
I wouldn’t normally recommend this kind of thing but if the only choice is paying inflated prices for second hand copies, it’s pretty easy to hack a Wii....
@electrolite77 If I hack a Wii, it'll be a last resort. I'm still holding out hope that TTYD will be ported or remastered at some point and prefer to access a lot of my games by legitimate means. I'm not in a huge hurry anyway; I have more than enough games to play right now.
Unless it's a port or remaster of Paper Mario, Thousand Year Door, or Super Paper Mario, I doubt I'm interested. I'd be down for more 2D Metroid though.
@electrolite77
Oh, I’m not saying the Switch is in trouble, far from it. As it stands, it’s just looking like a barren year of games for me. In all fairness though, it’s pretty much that way with all the systems.
Outside of the Last of Us 2, and CyberPunk, I have nothing to look forward to. I should be thankful though, this means I can finally work on my immense backlog. Ha
Oh man how I'd squeal for a new Paper Mario like the first 3, teeming with original characters with developed personalities and a story full of legitimate twists and emotional ending. Less generic Toads, more Vivian, Bobbery, Count Bleck, etc.
I don't care for Metroid myself, but I'd be down for a new Paper Mario
