A "prestigious triple-A title" is on the way from the studio behind the wonderful Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a new job listing has revealed.
Ubisoft Milan is currently hiring for a full-time 3D animator, noting that a successful applicant would be working on the production of this mystery AAA game. The listing, spotted by VGC, doesn't give away too many details, but it does discuss the inclusion of bipeds and quadrupeds. Humans and animals confirmed!
"Ubisoft Milan is looking for talented 3D Animator to be involved in the production of a prestigious triple-A title.
He/She will give life to our beloved characters creating high quality keyframe animations for bipeds and quadrupeds.
He/she will also work closely with Game Designers, Artists and 3D Animators to integrate the work into the game and verifying that all the elements interact properly."
So, is this a sequel to Mario + Rabbids, or something else entirely? Well, before that game and its Donkey Kong Adventure DLC, Ubisoft Milan also worked on the likes of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, and a number of Just Dance titles, which could all potentially be classed as 'AAA'.
Last year, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was asked about the likelihood of a Mario + Rabbids sequel but remained tight-lipped, saying, "We can't say much today, but we had a good relationship, so let's see what will come".
Looks like we'll have to wait and see.

Recently played through the DK DLC, what an amazing game! Was definitely one of the biggest surprises in the first months of the switch, can't wait for a sequel!
Mario + Rabbids 2, pls.
Just Dance: Mario + Rabbids Edition!
I would love to see a sequel, I picked the first up purely out of curiosity as it’s not my normal preference in terms of gameplay but I loved it.
Would one describe the anthropomorphic rabbits as bipeds or quadrupeds?
I enjoy turn-based strategy games and thought the first one was a breath of fresh air.
Great game! I would pick up the sequel day one.
This article is is pointless , because Mario Rabbids were just a side project.
Same team made Ghost Recon Wildlands, a game not possible to run on Switch.
This hiring is most likely for a huge fat UBI Game again, impossible to run on Switch.
If the hiring is for Wildlands 2, you can just forget any Switch release.
Ubisoft needs to revive Petz, Imagine brands like on Wii, NDS & 3DS on Nintendo Switch.
I don't need Just Dance, typical rated Mature AAA Western games from Ubisoft.
I just want Cute & Girlie games from Ubisoft.
Petz and Imagine on Nintendo Switch, i will be excited to play them.
@Ventilator considering how boring that first game was who cares about a 2nd title. Game sucked! For the record I am talking about ghost recon people!
@kobashi100 You are correct.
Ghost Recon used to be good, now it is another Call of Honor: Medal of Duty clone.
Mario v Rabbids was way better, and I say this as a huge classic Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon fan. Those games have totally lost their way.
I soo want a ghost recon title on the switch. (Player coop)
One of the best games i have played from ubisoft.
I'd like a sequel. But one with more content. Or just more routes or ways to play. I really liked the game, but it really felt like there was really only one way to play it and it left me with little to no interest in replaying it anytime soon.
Like even just an alternative path in the campaign or a different character unlock order that then changes the levels a bit. Also more Mario characters less Rabbids dressed as the same characters. We don't need Mario and Rabid Mario. How about Mario and Rabid Wario? And more characters in general. How about Rosalina and Waluigi and heck, find a way to make Bowser playable!
Title sorted
Mario and Rabbids 2: Rabbid Fire
“...which could all potentially be classed as 'AAA”
If I get hired at Ubi for a “AAA title” and get stuck in the Just Dance team I would get upset 😂
Nintendo Switch sales for Ubi are still sub 5%. So they need something new and big. Anything is better than another old Assassin’s Creed rehash.
@Ventilator Every sentence of yours is a negative point of how something that will be made will not be available on Switch. Having seen so many beautiful AAA games coming to the Switch I wonder where all this negativity of yours comes from.
After the surprising success of Mario & Rabbids (one of my personal favorite early Switch games), upping the ante would be an obvious and suitable call for a potential sequel (if that is in fact what Ubisoft is hiring for here). What would a Nintendo & Rabbids look like, for instance? Link using his Master Sword at close range and his bow or boomerang and long range? Samus utilizing her "ball" mechanic to some sort of special advantage? Bowser, Ganon, and other Big Bads joining forces? A Super Mario RPG-level of epicness?
Yeah, all of this is probably WAY too much to hope for, but it's worth throwing out (and hey, you never know who might be reading this, cough).
Great game. If you dont own it. Get it.
Would love a sequel.
If it is for us, I hope Davide Soliani is at the helm.
The prestigious is what piques my curiosity.
Hope it has wireless play this time.
I might like this RPG, if it weren't for the Mega Busters and Rabbids.
Zelda + Rabbids confirmed.
@kobashi100 The first one is one of the most sold third party games this gen, because it's one of the best freeroam co-op games online.
@Cosats If you read my post before replying, you would know their main games is open world AAA games. Not Mario Rabbits which is a side project.
Besides that, UBI cared alot more about Wii U than they ever did on Switch. Switch is almost dead to UBI and is why they don't port games anymore.
If you are lucky they make Mario Rabbids 2. Don't expect much more from UBI anymore except for more ports of very old games.
Bethesda and 2K Games is the major third parties for Nintendo nowadays. UBI lost interrest after Wii U.
UBI did more for Wii U in 6 months than they did for 3 years on Switch.
It doesen't hurt to look at the reality sometimes.
@ventilator you're wrong. Ghost recon is Ubisoft Paris. Milan just help.
Milan work on just dance principally.
Persona 5 + Rabbids: Palace Battle
watch it happen
@ToonStuff nah it will be all games + rabbids = oh no lol
Don’t you mean a “prestigious BWAAA title?”
Absolutely loved Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battles. I'm actually doing a second play these days. The DK DLC was fantastic as well. I'm curious where that would lead if it was indeed a sequel. New characters added? Could it become a little bit like SSB where more Nintendo characters join the fight?
Mario + Rabbids 2 would be nice and all but I would rather see something completely different
These not the guys that would work on a new 3D Rayman?
game breaking glitch randomly happens
@redd214 yeah me too. I thought the. DK DLC was done really well...
@KBuckley27 i'd rather have mario + rayman.
rabbids where the worst thing to happen to rayman franchise and you cannot change my mind on that. i loath those things.
Wow. That's the most accurate and respectful description of such a position I've seen in a while.
@Shadowmoon522 I'm not a fan of them ether but I enjoyed Mario + Rabbids somehow it worked
MARIO + RAYMAN! MARIO + RAYMAN! PLEASE!
