Famitsu's Japanese chart figures are now in for 6th - 12th January, revealing that Nintendo has once again managed to snag all top ten positions.
Pokémon Sword and Shield are still sitting comfortably at number one, making this the ninth consecutive week in a row the two titles have held the position. It was a relatively quiet week elsewhere, allowing Ring Fit Adventure to launch itself back up the chart into second place.

Jeez, for a moment I thought they'd sold 400k switches in a week.
Go Ring Fit Adventure!
More ring con games!
@Seananigans
It is two weeks of sales combined as there were no hardware figures last week.
Still very impressive.
its crazy to me how Minecraft sells. I can't imagine how much Microsoft makes off that game in a continuous stream
Sword and Shield are selling so well right now, they're totally going to pass up Smash Ultimate.
PS4: Oh, you're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?
Switch: I can't outsell the **** out of you without coming closer.
PS4: ...Nope, nope, nope, so much nope.
(PS4 has left the chat)
Man Sword and Shield have got legs. They're gonna run right pass smash bros
Nintendo is the best baby. So sexy.
wow, ring fit adventure has almost sold as many total copies as luigi's mansion 3 there. I'm happy it's so popular, also hope for more ring-con games.
Fourty odd thousand X-box lifetime sales. Do you even get servers for those numbers? Either way discussing Forza with mates in the playground is going to be hard.
Amazing how much the Switch is selling compared to the PS4 and Xbox. Granted at this point probably everyone has one of those already but still. Japan really loves their handhelds.
What's impressive is how long some of Nintendo's evergreen titles are holding on in the charts. That goes to show that quality can leave a lasting impression.
Wow and PS4 hasn't made to 10 million units yet even when you combine lifetime sales of both systems there.
@SmileMan64 I can appreciate a good Jojo reference
you have my respect, good sir
Switch Lite which came out like yesterday is catching PS4 Pro already which is mad. Still I’m very happy that the OG Switch is out selling it’s gimped younger sibling
Pokemon Sword/Shield will outsell Splatoon 2 by the time next week's numbers are reported.
Will take another 2 months or so to outsell Smash Bros Ultimate.
What's going on Falcom? You told me the core gamers in Japan were on PS4.
These sales must all be from dirty casuls.
@Seananigans That's for the last two weeks because they didn't report console sales last week. They only average 200k over the last 2 weeks, which while still utterly outrageous is less so.
Go Go switch!
I'll be honest, although I'm a fan, it's gotten kind of boring and predictable seeing Nintendo and Pokémon curb stomping the competition for several weeks. Hopefully PS4 and its games will put up a real fight this year.
@peanutbuttercup
No way! But I'll be happy for it if it did.
Oh, Wow ! 😀😀😀
Switch sales madness !!
Btw, where is PS VITA sales ?
@Anti-Matter wow you must have haters they gave you a thumbs down. Oh buy the way thumbs downer Sony by their own admission "KILLed" the Vita. So you should go blaming Sony not Nintendo.
@SwitchForce
Don't care with the haters toward me.
I think PS VITA has been extincted from Japan after they have been sold to empty the stocks.
@SwitchForce @Anti-Matter seems to get a few thumbs down 👎 no matter WHAT he says... so I give every comment I see a thumbs up 👍
We as Nintendo fans are basically reliving the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Generation all over again and I am very happy. The Nintendo switch has been dominating ever since release and I don't see that train slowing down anytime soon.
Very clear why MS decided to release Minecraft on the Switch in Japan.
@Ralizah Falcom at some point a few months ago, they release some statement saying were more willing to support Stadia than the freaking Switch
What a ridiculous company
@Amin_Parker I felt that way about the switch the first day I played it on launch.this feels like the super Nintendo era again.im glad to be apart of both
@cool_boy_mew
Stadia doesn't have a planned Japanese release yet. How does a company that makes most of its money from Japan expect that to go down? Especially since the reason they're not supporting the Switch are "low Japanese sales numbers" for YS VIII despite it doing well in the West.
I
After my sarcastic comment last week ticked a lot of people off I'm just gonna say that it's awesome how well Nintendo is doing!
Stadia has gone stale.......
Here's the thing:
13. [NSW] The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Limited Edition Included) (Nintendo, 03/03/17) – 5,103 (1,498,038)
It's still selling after March 2017 release. And that is only in Japan.
All that controversy was exactly as I expected it to be; a very few number of crybabies. They're part of every Pokémon launch though. Sw/Sh aren't perfect, in fact each Pokémon game has something undesirable about it, but it's still a damn good Pokémon game and it's great to see this beat the likes of CoD, GTA, RDR, or Destiny any day.
Looks like Pokemon is on track to be the biggest selling Switch title in Japan soon, it’s going to catch and pass Splatoon 2 and Smash...
Killing it indeed! Killing it even more than this serial killer fantasy book site I just found in my search https://medieval-fantasy-serial-killer-books.weebly.com/
I wish there was an MMO rpg like Wow for Pokemon!
