Materia Collective and game developer Team Cherry have announced that an official Hollow Knight Piano Collections album is set to be released later this week.
You likely don't need us to tell you that Hollow Knight is one of the most popular and adored indies to arrive in the gaming scenes in recent years. This new release features music by Christopher Larkin arranged in "intimate" piano form by David Peacock and performed by Augustine Mayuga Gonzales. At the time of writing, you can listen to one track below, with the whole album being released on 28th November.
As well being available to stream on Bandcamp and Apple Music, it'll also be available digitally, and on CD and vinyl formats with sheet music being made available to anyone who grabs a copy. You'll find pre-order links here.
The game's sound design was just one of the many features we praised in our full Hollow Knight Switch review last year.
Will you be picking this up? Are you a huge fan of the game? Tell us below.

It sounds nice, though the violins are the best part imo, especially when doing path of pain. Really sets the mood.
I have Amazon Music Unlimited I think, but not sure if that only gets me access to one track (as currently listed) or whether I'll get access to the full album come 28th Nov. Cool though.
@Expa0 The music is decent. There's some moody stuff for sure and the fight against Grimm has a fun track.
Amazing!
Have Hollow Knight Original Soundtrack on my Spotify collection. Hope this makes it also.
I got the Okami Album from Data Disc shipped to me from the UK. Center stage in my Vinyl collection.
These are all great!
The album art is fantastic. They should sell prints of that.
Well I’m getting this on vinyl for sure. I still need to get the original soundtrack though, it’s one of the best indie soundtracks in recent years alongside Celeste. Those saying that it’s not a great soundtrack clearly don’t have an appreciation for more understated pieces, and likely are the reason so many AAA games have horrific metalcore soundtracks
Beautiful music for a beautiful game.
@Expa0 I think that's mostly just because it blends in so well with the environments and various boss encounters that it just fades into background and becomes part of the game's atmosphere.
Fantastic game with great music. I can't wait for Silksong
@Syndiciate Hmm, I guess I can see how someone might just let it be affecting on a subconscious level because it is so well integrated, but I find it to be a huge part of what makes the tone of the game so thickly felt and there are parts where the music is just stunning, to me at least. A couple tracks from the original are in regular rotation for me, as a result.
I will say, it's not just simple swells and non-melodic noise, though, but full on compositions that are often memorable. I'll definitely give this album a full listen as I'm curious how it will translate.
Great that they have Apple Music as well. Interestingly, on Bandcamp you can currently listen to Greenpath and HK theme, while on Apple Music it's Dirtmouth and HK Theme.
