Until a new Advance Wars appears, Chucklefish's superb Wargroove is here to scratch your tactical itch on Switch – and it does that brilliantly.
Previously a digital release, a physical 'deluxe' version is now available – courtesy of Sold Out – which packs in some neat bonus items, and Chucklefish was kind enough to send us a sample to show off you lovely people. It's the first in-house game the company has made to get the physical release treatment, so you can forgive them for feeling a little bit chuffed.
The package includes:
- Cartridge copy of the game
- Downloadable version of the Wargroove Soundtrack by Phonetic Hero and Boss Battle Records
- Commander sprite sticker sheet
- Poster map of Aurania
- Mini Strategy Manual with stats & tips on all units (available in English, French, Italian, German & Spanish)
- A reversible coversheet

I got this deluxe edition recently and it's a nice bit of kit.
The soundtrack download code is not working for me however, when I go to the Bandcamp page to redeem it, it tells me that my eight digit code is invalid despite it matching the format.
@RupeeClock I bought this and had no problem with my code. Try posting on the forums at their website. Someone should be able to help you there.

That's a nice little piece of kit, but I can't bring myself to pay $40 for a $20 game. Added it to my Amazon cart just in case they don't sell and Amazon decides to put them on sale. Or maybe get it for my son at Christmas for $40, that I could do.
Yeah, this reminds me to not buy a good indie game digital immediately, but wait for a year, in case a physical version comes out within that timeframe...
@Friendly Yep, which is why I haven't purchased Blasphemous yet. Would have loved to own a physical copy of Hollow Knights and Wargroove, but I'm not buying the same product twice.
@ShaiHulud
Are you aware that Limited Run Games have open pre-orders for Blasphemous right now?

Pre-orders close on the 29th of November.
@RupeeClock Most if on twitter knows this but the CE is gone unless you go through eBay Scalpers.
@SwitchForce
That's typical of most collector's editions on Limited Run Games. They sell out within an hour, if not minutes of the pre-order window opening.
A standard physical copy of their Switch games however, are open pre-order for at least two weeks.
@RupeeClock I am, but thanks anyway. 50 dollar including shipping is a bit much though. I realise I sound like I'm never satisfied Hollow Knight is around 25 quid on the other hand, which I'd happily pay if I didn't already have it digitally.
@Friendly That’s what I’ve been doing ever since Steamworld Dig 2 got a physical release. I had every intention of getting Wargroove when it came out on cartridge, but my interest has waned over the course of the year.
@RupeeClock some recent one has a longer time frame.
We all have to remember Digital is only good as long as they don't pull it from eShop as one game in the past don't recall had done. So Digital is only good as long as they don't pull it from eShop or if you like wasting precious microSD space. This is where a Physical options is better in long run term and also it's not tied to the eShop account that downloaded it you can give it away or play on another Console.
it can't be overstated how small a Nintendo Switch Catridge* is
I picked this up on launch day. With all the little extras, it was definitely worth it.
@SwitchForce physical games still need patches. Physical costs more and if it's not a regular shop item, you're looking at a long wait.
Good stuff, glad I held off on this game thus far.
@spirit_flame "if it's not a regular shop item, you're looking at a long wait." If your talking about release most that buy the Physical already factor that in their decision so waiting isn't going to kill one.
Physical cost more for the physical cart and production. Why would one think that is cheaper. And if you just look online now games that were eShop that sold well are becoming Physical so that should tell something. At least one only has to download the updates not the whole game with Physical you can play without the updates as well. Also you forgot Digital is tied to the account - no giveaway or if you loose your NIN account or get Banned will you get your games back. With the Physical you can play no Switch or Switch Lite or uses different family Switch units to play the game-something Digital can't do. You can only use one account on one Switch that is where the problem starts.
This is one of the few locations that actually mentions the cart in the physical version Most ads don't mention it and you can't assume with so many calling themselves physical and having DL codes and a BOX as physical only.
@SwitchForce Unfortunately, in this case, the extensive DLC (free) isn't on the cart.
