Chucklefish has finally lifted the lid on its upcoming DLC for Wargroove. It's officially titled Wargroove: Double Trouble and is entirely free. This new content is designed with "co-op play in mind" and adds a new story and three new Outlaw Commanders. They include the mighty Wulfar, the trouble-making twins Errol and Orla (see above), and the maleficent Vesper.
Here's a description to help set the scene:
After an unexpected kidnapping and some severe ransom demands, your group of rogues have no choice but to perform the biggest heist that Aurania has ever seen…
Apart from this, you'll also get access to two new units (Thieves & Riflemen), new arcade missions, a new volcano map theme, updates to the custom editor, Outlaw music tracks and a number of online-related updates:
Competitive online Quick Play maps, including some of the community’s most competitive maps as voted for by the Groove of War team
Public and Private Multiplayer Lobbies – you can now also play custom campaigns online!
For more details bout the new editor tools and balance changes in this update, visit the official Wargroove website.
In addition to all of this, the Wargroove Deluxe Edition physical release is due out later this month on 29th October. It will include the game, a downloadable version of the game's soundtrack, a commander sprite sticker sheet, a poster map of Aurania, a mini strategy manual and a reversible cover sheet.
According to Chucklefish, Double Trouble is currently in the final testing phase, so once it has passed submissions, the release date and an exciting new trailer will be revealed.
Will you be returning to Wargroove to try out this new update? Have you been holding out for the Deluxe Edition physical release? Prepare for battle in the comments below.

I'll be checking it out for sure when I get some free time. Love this game.
Just finished the main campaign, absolutely loved it and looking forward to the DLC.
I love this game and will gladly start playing again after this DLC comes out.
But I don't double dip for the same game on the same console.
Unless you've brainwashed me since childhood to do that. (Pokemon)
I have put hundreds of hours into this game and can't wait to come back! The support that Chucklefish is showing for this game is phenomenal. I am seriously considering double dipping on the physical version just to support them.
I stopped buying indie games a while ago because many of the top games end up with a physical release (which I prefer). I have the Deluxe version per-ordered through Amazon. I am looking forward to checking this out!
For example, I now have Golf Story, Undertale, Celeste (soon), Yooka Laylee, Deadcells, Hollow Knight, and the Messenger physically. A wonderful little Indie collection if I do say so myself!
I’ll probably be double dipping. Oye.
So glad to finally get a promised update, this is a stellar game! I wish it was more popular!
