Epic has announced a special Batman 80th anniversary event for Fortnite, and it runs from now until 8th October.
This limited-time crossover event brings Gotham City to Fortnite and will even give you your own Batman cape. You'll also have some "wonderful toys" at your disposal and there are various Batman-themed cosmetics to collect along the way.
A Rift Zone has brought Gotham City to Fortnite. Of course, it wouldn’t be Gotham City if villainy didn’t come along with it. This POI lets you be the hero the citizens of Gotham City need by giving you your own Batman cape and the power of Glider Redeploy!
The Batman Caped Crusader Pack comes with the Batman comic book outfit and the Dark Knight movie outfit. A Catwoman outfit will be available as well, and there are also heroic challenges available until 1st October. Completing these challenges will earn you free rewards from the "Welcome to Gotham City" bundle and there's a Catwing Glider up for grabs.
Jim Lee, DC Comics' COO and co-publisher, made the following comment about the special crossover (via Comicbook.com):
It’s the 80th anniversary of the Dark Knight, and we wanted to do something extra special for fans all around the world for Batman Day. I can’t imagine anything bigger than letting the legions of Fortnite players take on the cowl and enter the world of Gotham City via Tilted Towers! Epic Games has really outdone themselves in bringing the world of Batman to Battle Royale!
You can view the full patch notes for version 10.31 of Fortnite over on the official game site. And below is a trailer promoting the latest event:
Will you be booting up Fortnite to fight crime in Gotham City? Tell us below.

Why just Batman and Catwoman? If they are presumably going all out on this collab why not incorporate most of Batman's revered rogues gallery of villains? I saw leaked game items referencing Joker so he's obviously a no-brainer but Mr. Freeze? Two-Face? Clayface? The Riddler? Harley Quinn? The Penguin? You could even throw in Hugo Strange and Man-Bat!
@BlueBlur101 I guess you can say the same about the marvel event with thanos
The dark nite
Joker would have been cool.
Playing it right now, very temped to get the skin pack, the BatBale skin looks awesome
Honestly, this one's pretty cool. I AM THE NIGHT!!
I like these events, it keeps pulling me back to Fortnite even though I am not hard core fan
I'm not wearing hockey pads.
Well I guess you can fight against batman with your marvel skins now. Looks like there is a newest most ambitious crossover (pretending smash doesn't exist atm)
Batman doesn't use guns. That's a serious defining character trait he has...
They also put in Naruto Run so... there goes my money. I can finally make Batman Naruto run.
...I still don't care, Epic.
@JamesJose7 yeah but that was to specifically promote Infinity War and Endgame
This is just to promote Batman. Not one specific version of Batman in media, just a celebration of the character since it's his 80th anniversary
@Heavyarms55 The work-around for that is that Fornite guns are technically non-lethal. When you get "eliminated" you are just sent back to the island. Batman has used non-lethal guns many times.
@Heavyarms55
We could be the fake batmen like how their was mutiple fake batmen in The Dark Knight (on example at least).
But fornite guns don't kill.... So yeah.
@Heavyarms55 What about his nightmare in Justice League? He dreamed Superman created a global dictatorship and he used guns to fight Darkseid and Superman thugs.
@BlueBlur101 that's true
@Reigestugatensho In a nightmare. Enough said.
Nice post
Thank you for this post it really helped me.
@Heavyarms55 Setting aside his origin, heres a neat article to read on his complicated history with firearms (sorry, bit of a comic geek): https://www.newsarama.com/26211-the-history-of-gun-toting-batman.html
This is super awesome, but not £17 awesome for a couple of skins.
The batman and cat women skins look cool and all but Gotham city isn't even that cool. Gotham city is basically Regular Tilted towers with a few differences.
@Heavyarms55 Does a 'Grapnel Gun' count? What about a 'Kryptonite Canister gun'? I'd say he's used guns plenty of times (even though I'll admit the nightmare was a bit of a stretch).
@Reigestugatensho He uses gun-like tools but Batman doesn't use conventional guns. I get that Fortnite is a game and apparently the guns here don't kill, but it still just doesn't match Batman's character to run around with a shotgun or an assault rifle. I've seen a bunch of TV shows, movies and comics where he clearly refuses to use them and is very serious about it.
@Heavyarms55 It's Fortnite. It's all fun and games. I know Batman doesn't really use guns (although Batman V. Superman he shot some thugs with the Grapnel Gun). Remember this Fortnite Batman isn't the real deal it is more than not a brand logo.
