UK chart data is now available for the week ending 13th July. Super Mario Maker 2 has managed to stay in the top spot after three weeks and a 38% drop in sales week-on-week.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has held its position in fourth, and the new entry Dragon Quest Builders 2 has debuted in the fifth spot. Square Enix's Switch and PlayStation 4 title sold the best on Nintendo's system, making up 67% of sales.

Outside of this, Hollow Knight re-entered the charts at No. 34, with 66% of sales courtesy of the Switch version.

Great to see Super Mario Maker 2 and Crash Team Racing both doing so well. They're phenomenal games with loads of content, and I've been playing them nonstop for the past few weeks.
I do wonder, when will GTA 5 leave the top 10?
Oh yeah, when GTA 6 is released.
If it's anything like N.Sane Trilogy, CTR will be placing highly in the charts for months to come yet. Not that that's a bad thing, more sales might mean more games (new ones, even.) I'm also interested to see if Spyro comes back into the charts in September when it launches on Switch.
GTA 5 is madness...
Ah yeah. Sweet sweet Crash Team Racing. Like a harsh but delicious coffee in the morning.
@sanderev Nope, cause that's when it will come to Switch and both games will sit in the top 10 for another 12 years. Strangely though you wont know many people who bought them and will be left wondering.
Nice to see Hollow Knight getting a boost thanks to the physical release. I picked it up yesterday and it seems like a lovely game the little I had time to play.
Just bought Mortal Kombat 11 as it was on offer and I’m really surprised by its quality nice to have it on the go
I haven't picked Super Mario Maker 2 up yet, but I got CTR: Nitro-Fueled last week, and I am loving it. It all looks as beautiful as my young, untrained eyes believed it to look so long ago. I'm so glad they are both doing so well, because they deserve the love
Super Mario Maker 2 UK sales:
Week 1: ~37,000
Week 2: ~20,000
Week 3: ~12,000
Total: ~69,000
They should release GTA V on the switch, it ran on 360 and PS3 so surely it would run on the switch.
More Rockstar games should come to Switch, definitely. They sell games like hotcakes.
At least that GTAV, come on.
@SwitchplayerJohn from what we've seen so far on Switch, I don't think it would run well. GTA5 pushed the PS3 & XBOX360 to their limits.
@nmanifold You should see games like DOOM running on an XBOX 360.
Bottom line: Switch is more powerful than those consoles. The Switch could handle GTA5. Maybe not as good as the X1 / PS4, but better than the X360 / PS3.
But yeah, I don't see it happening. Switch' audience isn't the GTA audience.
@nmanifold
Yes but PS3 and 360 could run it so it would work on Switch. Might take a bit of tweaking as the Switch has occasionally struggled with open world stuff but it will be able to do it. The issue is whether there’s enough of a market to justify the costs of converting it.
@Not_Soos Exactly, the combination of playing Super Mario Maker 2 and Crash Team Racing is great. 3 weeks at number 1 for Mario Maker 2 also......
@electrolite77 Yes it would have to be made from the ground up to get it working decently on Switch, and Rockstar obviously don't see the point in investing in it's development, they're still making a fortune from it. But i would love it on Switch, I've played it to death on XBOX360 and PS4.
@TempOr UK charts are almost as Nintendo heavy as in 2008 at the height of the Wii days, long may it continue....
Mario Maker 2 is a great game! I am thinking it may be my favorite 2d platformer. And I have played a lot of platformers.
I expect GTA 5 will come to Switch next year.
@SwitchplayerJohn I'd finally buy it!
@the_beaver I picked up L.A. Noire when it came to Switch as a kind of offering for them to bring more. But sadly, I don’t think L.A. Noire sold so well on Switch?
@Ryan_Again LA Noire did well on Switch. Vgchartz has it down as nearly half a million only including physical sales so add the downloads plus the numbers stated are now a few months old I would put it at 550 thousand or there abouts...
That's alot better than the Xbox Version, around twice as much for comparasion.
@sanderev I agree Switch audience right now isn’t GTAV territory and I wouldn’t buy it however GTAV switch edition would bring so many new people to switch, vastly expanding the audience. This can only be a good thing, then maybe more big third parties would put more effort into switch. Cough cough EA cough phlegm spit.
Does anyone know what the official sale numbers are for Ninty’s highest selling games in the UK? Like did WiiSport sell over a million? I want be to able to put these MM2 in perspective. Is 69,000 after 3 weeks impressive for the UK?
@westman98 how are you getting these sales estimates?
It's amusing seeing Mario and Crash competing so fiercely again.
@nmanifold
Yeah I’d welcome it very much. They did a good job with LA Noire so fingers crossed for GTA. If they pulled back on the extra niceties in LA Noire (shadows, effects etc) and concentrated on getting it running I’m sure it would work.
Does anyone play CTR online on Switch. I was wondering if you get into matches quickly or not.
@BANJO Oh! That’s good to hear, thanks for correcting my misconception. 👍
If anyone is interested in some fun levels. Maker ID 8B7-CTF-NMG
@PuppyToucher
A bit of insider knowledge and weekly percentage changes in sales.
"...a very quiet week ~ Just 148,107 boxed games were sold, and only needed to sell 2,500 copies to get into the Top Ten... 1,000 to make the Top 40"
Sounds like nothing selling all that well in general.
I guess God Eater 3 didnt even sell 1k on Switch (They had better luck even on PC)... Maybe good news out of japan tomorrow. Bloodstained - vanished.
Usual suspects on top.
@SwitchplayerJohn Ya, 720p @ 30 FPS on 360/ps3. It would be perfect for the switch .
Always impressive when the Switch version of games sell best on the platform considering the Switch still only has a fraction of the install base size of the PS4.
Great for SMM2 hitting #1 for the 3rd straight week!
Mario Maker 2 is going to dominate the charts for a long time and will fall within the top 5 at worst lol. I didn’t have to work today and I EASILY burned through 7 hours of my day just creating levels without realizing the time lol. Nice job Nintendo!
