Darril Arts and Stormind Games have today announced that Remothered: Tormented Fathers has secured a release date on Switch. Get your favourite pillow to hide behind at the ready because it'll be spooking a Switch near you from 26th July.
The game has you taking on the role of Rosemary Reed, a woman investigating the disappearance of a girl called Celeste. She heads to the home of Celeste’s adoptive father, Richard, to search for clues but is turned away; she sneaks back in the evening and finds herself fighting for her life in a waking nightmare.
As you can see in the trailer above, Remothered: Tormented Fathers has received an impressive amount of praise since launching on PC, PS4 and Xbox One last year. It has an all-star soundtrack composed by Nobuko Toda (Metal Gear Solid, Kingdom Hearts, Halo) and Luca Balboni (Mine, Watch Them Fall), and the Switch edition is said to feature "full support for the console’s signature portability and control schemes".
We've got a full list of its key features for you below.
Remothered: Tormented Fathers Key features
- Many ways to survive - Misguide your stalkers with the endless combinations of game dynamics: stealth, action, strategy, hide & run. Use your skills to block them in another area of the house. Attack your enemy and make your items more powerful by spiking them. Carefully study the behavior of your stalker and his path. Don’t get too close to your enemy, and when they are getting close to you, if possible hide.
- Psychological plot - Characters in the story are everyday people who turn into scary monsters.
- Movie-like cutscenes - Thanks to his impressive direction, Chris Darril created a story rich of complex life-like characters.
- Audio clues - Use the 3D audio sound effects to understand when your stalkers are getting closer.
- No health bars - Your body is the only way to understand how you are doing.
- Realistic puzzles - Environments and characters have been conceived to be realistic and believable.
- Real-time loading - Explore the mansion without worrying about empty moments or boring loading times.
Chris Darril, Author and Creative Director of Remothered has also shared the following statement in a press release:
“I really want to thank our loyal community for making it possible for us to bring our story to the Nintendo Switch so that even more people can experience it. We want fans of serious horror games on every platform to know that developers like us will always be there to create powerful narratives for them.”

About damn time I've been waiting for this since i messaged their team about the Switch and they told me keep my eyes peeled for a release date... That was a year ago!
Remothered: Revengeance.
That old, tired "BWOOommm" sound should be considered a crime and banned from videos effective immediately.
Other than that, great game.
Ooh, interesting. Love a good horror so definitely keeping an eye on this.
Reminds me of "Rule of Rose" for the PS2. That's a good thing as that game was pretty freaky, at least back in 2006.
Looking forward to this.
I wonder if Jodie Foster was their baseline for the protagonist's model. She looks like a none-too-subtle recreation of Clarice Starling.
Excited for this as long as the port goes well....especially those “seamless” load times.
@VN1X
Surely you're talking about Remothered: Revengeange - Remastered.
And the award for Worst Game Title Anyone Could Possibly Conceive goes to....
opening... RESIDENT EVIL... i mean Remothered (in a scary voice of course) Whenever I see a new horror game with scary music i'm automaticly saying RESIDENT EVIL
Oh man that title. Sounds like your kid left to go to college... and then came back!
Uhm, why does she look like Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs?
Isn't this already out on the Japanese eshop?
I'd get this on Switch but it is 14.99 on PS4 right now... so I might as well avoid the Switch tax and get it immediately.
Can’t wait!! Gonna big day one it looks so spooky!
What even is that title?
How are they getting away with a character that so closely resembles Jodie Foster?
I've been looking forward to this since way before I knew it was going to happen! I love the PS2 generation horror games, when visual and audio design and writing and gameplay were all getting better, or weren't at the depth they are now (generally, I know there are gems out there).
