Goichi 'Suda51' Suda, director of games such as No More Heroes, Killer7, and Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes on Nintendo Switch, has given us the first tease of something new set to appear during E3 next week.
We've known that he's been planning on sharing something during the time of the event for a while - earlier this year he mentioned that he hoped to have "something cool to announce" - but we've absolutely no idea what the reveal might be. The first teaser for this reveal has been shared today and, quite frankly, we're still none the wiser.
The tweet above seems to show a character of some sort, but we - and everyone in the replies to the tweet, it would seem - can't figure out exactly what it is. The very same character has now shown up as Suda51's Twitter header (left, below), and his profile picture has also changed to this never-before-seen art (right, below).
So, is this our very first look at No More Heroes 3? Could this be a brand new IP?
We'll let you mull that one over in the comments.

That's... Something alright.
Can't really tell what's going on.
Love the rainbow background celebrating Pride month
Definitely does NOT look like No More Heroes 3, except possibly for that new profile picture.
Looks like some weird kinda twist on Pokémon. But with Suda 51, nothing is ever too weird, so you'll never really know what he's up to, or what freakish brain farts have escaped his imagination this time.
Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for Killer 7 HD remake...
It could be NMH3 since the male character art looks kind of like Travis without his shades. But, its highly unlikely that it would be that far in development considering NMH:TSA just went gold late last year. My guess would be new IP and probably another Nintendo exclusive.
That thing next to the hairy dude looks like a spaceships, maybe a shmup?
Never played anything by this guy... but after seeing the awful reviews of Travis Strikes Again, I couldn’t care less for what he’s doing at E3. Travis Strikes Again looked like it was made by a 5 year old, with humour of a child to match.
His Twitter profile picture has been that one of Travis for ages
@EmirParkreiner Mabye a shoot em up/ mon collector hybrid?
@RazumikhinPG I doubt that very strongly.
@Kalmaro why is that?
Weird. I don't think it's NMH, but what...
@RazumikhinPG Because smart companies know better than to get woke and divide customers.
@Kalmaro it's his personal twitter account tho and I don't see anything "woke" about celebrating lgbtq pride.
I think the one in the right is Travis son... maybe.
I think its Mario guys. Or possibly Steve for smash
@RazumikhinPG The fact it's on his Twitter doesn't mean much. He's the face of his company.
The fact you don't see anything pandering to the LGBT group as woke doesn't change the fact that most people do.
When companies get woke, they get broke. Never fails.
@ThanosReXXX I was just thinking it would be a twist on Pokemon, Suda-style!
That "thing" reminds me of those furry gumball machine monsters with the jiggly eyes and feet you could stick anywhere lol
@RazumikhinPG rainbows exist outside of the LGBT community you know
Can't stand the stuff this guy puts out. Whatever it is I won't be buying.
@RazumikhinPG The colors seem a bit off to me compared to the Pride rainbow. I don’t know though, I don’t exactly consider myself woke or anything.
On topic: that looks a bit far removed from No More Heroes. Looks more like something that could be in Gungho’s upcoming Ninjala if anything.
@MeloMan Haha, yeah. I remember those. It also kinda reminded me of the Commodore Amiga game Fury of the Furries, which you might also remember, if you're old enough:
@ThanosReXXX I'm old enough, though I didn't play the game. LMAO, that image though!
@RazumikhinPG It's considered woke because the company is making a political statement that will seem morally right. Personally don't have a issue with except for when it seeps into their games.
Also, if that is his intent he certainly would make the colors a lot brighter to show it off so I highly doubt it. But who knows, nothing wrong supporting gays and lesbians.
People are like onions they have layers.
@MeloMan All it lacks, is the glue underneath its feet...
The graphics style is a typical product of its time, especially if you look at other Amiga and Atari ST game boxes from back in those days.
@Zorox88 And some of them make you cry...
Is that a Fry Kid?
It reminds me of those fuzzy pompom things from those old McDonald's commercials.
@ThanosReXXX Your post cracked me up. XD
@Zorox88 And they also make us cry bitter tears.
NMH 3 will be a prequel.
@Tempestryke Thanks. We aim to please...
It's the evil Fluff Cloud, from a gory action game exclusively for the Switch. Rated M for Mature.
@frogopus There is no evidence that splitting your consumer base helps in an significant way.
Chic - file is doing well despite the hate thrown at it because the attackers had nothing to stand on in the first place. They have great chicken, good customer service and thus, they are objectively the best chicken joint in the nation.
That's even with them taken a day off every week.
Target has actually been making less money over the years so I'm not sure why you used them. They got hit hard after a boycott do to their bathroom changes for trans people.
Tl;dr
The vast majority of cases where a company splits consumers in an effort to virtue signal (getting woke) results in financial loss (going broke). I'm not sure why you wouldn't agree with that, when does splitting you consumer base down the middle ever help? The goal should be getting as many customers as possible.
Gillette currently is in hot water because of this.
@frogopus Going to have to disagree hard. Just because people may not care one way or another on some issues does not mean they actually support something. Not sure what data points you're referring to anyway, or why you think I even use Twitter. I don't, unless it's to post silly vids from my switch to show to friends.
Target has been closing big stores lately and fo using on just smaller ones, and for good reason. They aren't as sustainable as they've been in the past.
If anything, what boost they've seen in sales is largely do to the market as a whole improving and not anything on their part. Looking at some reports from November shows them not making as much a profit as they hoped for. Having seen much from anything recently but I could be looking in the wrong spot.
Gillette having to deal with beards being popular is surprisingly. What led you to that conclusion?
@NinChocolate I also thought of the Fry Kids! That was so long ago.
@MagicEmperor @NinChocolate The Fry Kids are what I was thinking of! Thanks you two.
Looks like son of Travis
@frogopus That is a lot of info, way too much to dig into. I will say that stuff like that Gallup poll don't impress me, they don't list a sample size at all, for instance.
But even if public opinion changes on homosexuality/trans/etc and such, that does not change if it's appropriate to mix it with selling a product. No one looks to thier razors for moral guidance, so Gillette taking sides on the transgender issue during a commercial is silly.
I took a look at the first link concerning the beard crisis.... Which sounds hilarious. The report is interesting but they don't provide sources. If you look at the first link it's just 'Gillette says...' and that's it.
If you follow the link to CNN buisness (can't stand CNN) they still don't give you sources. They even give you a graphic saying 'soirce: Nielson' but no links to see how they got the data. It's basically Gillette saying 'sales are down because we said so'.
They very well could be right but I'll never know because they're expecting me to trust them, which I don't.
Lookes at the Target stock links. It seems like they have been finding success by shifting to online and strengthening their presence there. That falls in line with what I heard earlier about them closing stores and focusing on smaller ones. That's a smart move, digital sales have been picking up speed for a while now.
I'm not really interested in how trusted they are, I'm only interested in facts. The polls they used were a mix of full serves and half surveys and that doesn't really impress me much. However, I digress.
The Nielson data I can't confirm myself but that's largely due to a pay wall I guess. So that could all be accurate but I can't verify it. They still don't go into sample sizes or anything so it's just a bunch of numbers with no context.
Even a sample size of 1000 is small. Polls have to be taken with a grain of salt, they can give a good idea but are not 100% accurate. Again though, I think we're getting caught up on non-issues. Even if the majority of people support the LGBT community, that does not mean they want political messages everywhere.
As for the growth, that's good, but then our economy as a whole is doing great right now so that's probably contributing quite a bit.
