UK chart data is now in for the week ending 18th May, revealing that Mario has managed to secure two top ten positions in another mostly quiet week at retail.
A few Nintendo Switch games are scattered in and around the top twenty (below), and newcomer Sniper Elite V2 Remastered has debuted in 13th spot. The Switch version of that game did sell the least copies overall, however, taking 21% of sales as opposed to PS4's 49% and Xbox One's 30%.
Rage 2 takes over top spot, knocking Days Gone down to second after three weeks in pole position.

Sniper elite is fantastic on switch
Our community will most likely see Mario Maker 2 as the better game given all the features. But I wonder if it will sell as well as New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe?
Mario Kart seems to live at number 6.
I wonder if Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu is getting further boosts from Detective Pikachu
@BigBluePanda It's up to #4 from #9 in the Switch only charts and has been pushed by a lot of retailers here as part of their Pokemon promotions. I'd definitely say it's having a decent impact.
A ton of reviews including this sites' review would disagree with that statement @sandman89.
It's awesome that the DELUXE games are actually selling well, makes me so happy!
Switch version of Sniper Elite did not even chart. And broken SaintRow is done.
If they actually made a profit - would just show how little they invested into these ports
Would be Amazing if Team Sonic charts high on Switch. And shows Publishers what they missing (even in the UK)
Super Mario Maker 2 almost completely invalidates New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, which was already an inferior version of the game (admittedly, the original is pretty good). I'm guessing that once it launches, sales of U Deluxe are going to plummet. Mario Maker 2 is just a better buy; sure, there are more levels between Mario U and Luigi U in NSMBUDX compared to the story mode of Mario Maker 2, but there's also everything that will be on Course World and online multiplayer. U Deluxe still has its merits since not everyone will have Switch Online, but my point still stands.
Rage 2 has the worst launch of any major new Bethesda game released in the last 10 years. Looks like the trend of underperforming single player Bethesda titles not named Fallout or Elder Scrolls will continue.
Looks like we need to wait until Mario Maker 2 for the next big new release.
And where is Banjo Tooie in these numbers?
@BacklogBlues soooo what you saying? It’s still great
Exactly @sandman89.
@Agramonte Saints Row has done very well in the eShop, where the massive profit margins are to be found
@JoeDiddley As of late last April, SMM2 would outsell NSMBU DX even if it only sold as many copies as SMM did on the Wii U.
And multiple Switch games have outsold the Wii U itself, so I think it'll sell quite a bit more.
Does anyone know if there's a story mode on the original Super Mario Maker on Wii U? If there is then I've missed it.
@MJInnocent they loose 30% and still had the expense of making all the retail units. Some retailers that fell for this probably have no rights of return and will need to eat the cost (or fire-sale it to make it back) so a "win" for them I guess.
I have no doubt they squeeze a profit out of this. Their cost management butcher it to lowest score of any of the versions just for that purpose.
@Agramonte I think they manufacture the bare minimum of copies, enough to have a presence on store shelves maybe, and cash in on digital sales.
Good going Nintendo. 😃😃
@MJInnocent I am sure they use every trick in the book to make a profit.
Team Sonic Racing is #6 at Amazon UK right now. Beating every other version. A publisher that just tried a bit harder on Switch and gets rewarded would be nice to see.
