Open-world sandbox title TerraTech is constructing a release on Nintendo Switch later this month, it has been confirmed. Players will be able to get their hands on it from 29th May.
The game allows players to design and build their own creations through a mix of crafting, combat and discovery. You'll be exploring, building, and battling across alien worlds, designing your very own cars, tanks, and planes from a huge library of blocks.
It might be an obvious comparison to make, but the whole thing reminds us of what it was like to play with LEGO as a kid, imagining the world around your creations. We've got some Switch screenshots for you below, as well as info on the game's single-player modes.
- Fight enemies, complete missions & work your way up the ranks in Campaign.
- Explore and build with or without the threat of enemies in Creative.
- Build the fastest Tech you can and beat your previous race times in Gauntlet.
The game is already available to pre-purchase on the Switch eShop for £19.99 / $24.99, although North American buyers should find a 10% discount waiting for them on the store should they pick it up before launch.
Is this your kind of time sink? Are you already dreaming up creations? Let us know if you're interested in this one with a comment below.

Where is the human ?
Is that Cars (Disney Pixar) world, with only cars live there ?
Like the concept, look forward to the reviews.
Looks great. Should be fun
Looks boring
I feel like me as a kid would love this. Unfortunately I'm not a kid anymore.
@Anti-Matter I believe the concept is that YOU are the "human" and create rovers and drones for combat. That's just me thinking though.
Also, first day buy for me, but honestly, Lego worlds pretty much has I'm looking for in a builder game. A huge universe to explore. Many vehicles and ecosystems. This kinda seems bare bones.
I probably would have liked it when I was younger, but now I think I would just see it as a Lego knock off and lose interest quick.
Need to see some gameplay to decide.
@Dakotastomp I love LEGO Worlds but the glitches are numerous and I find that they sometimes inhibit the game play.
That's two items shaved off my Steam wishlist practically at once (the other being Heroine Anthem Zero, although I nominally had it bookmarked on Humble Store). At this rate, even if I do find myself on a tangible GPD spree this summer again, it will probably be but the most unlikely porting candidates like FEAR and Half Life. XD
I really tought that was "scrap machanics"...
No idea this was coming to Switch. My son has been playing since his birthday. I'll have to ask him about it. He loves the engineering style games. The trailer completely skips the best part, which is BUILDING the vehicles. It's very, very customizable. I feel like this is missing the guns, too. What little I've seen involved vehicles being built and trying to destroy each other. Maybe the Switch version is more focused or something.
LEGO was physical so why isn't this one physical.
@nintendork64 True. I got crashes it multiple times. but they're pretty rare.
@aaronsullivan I hope the Switch version doesn't get rid of or nerf any of the customization options. I wanna build my dream Akira motorcycle!
I like that you can design the vehicles and machines. But man, those worlds sure look empty. At least lego worlds was densely packed full of stuff to see and discover.
Its meant to come out today but does anyone know the time?
