Ryan Reynolds and everyone else involved in the production of the live-action Pokémon movie Detective Pikachu have done a tremendous job promoting the film in the lead-up to its release. Unfortunately, though, it looks like someone on the internet might have leaked the entire movie already. Yep, even the voice of Pikachu has spotted this "leak" online:

Done? If you made it past the minute mark, you've probably realised by now this is simply a joke and perhaps the best marketing stunt so far for this movie. As you can see, the "leak" tricks you into thinking it's the real deal and before you know it, Detective Pikachu is doing a cheery dance workout for nearly two hours straight.

I clicked on the link, I copied it, started downloading on Videoder and just as I was about to come back here and leave a comment saying "I can't believe it hasn't been taken down yet'' the dancing started.

I fear this has set the bar high for the actual movie, I expect twice as much Pikachu Dancing now!

I was kinda hoping the joke would be that it's all the cutscenes of the video game.
The irony is, it inspired pirates to actually leak it since they officially supported it.

I wonder if that dance routine was used as "preparation" for the pikachu model, and if they used that test for marketing, just like the fake "casting" scenes from the trailer.
If so: well done.
The plot was a bit simple.
Reminds me of when Adult Swim was going to air the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie before it hit theaters (On April 1st, of course.) After the first couple minutes, they shrunk it down and moved it to the corner of the screen while they showed their regular programming.
Wow i got so angry when i read it got leaked, like i legit started cursing outloud of the thought that pirates are gonna ruin this movie and cheapskates are gonna pirate instead of properly support the film!
Then Pikachu started dancing right before i was about to close the tab, you all got me real good, holy cow! lmao 😂

Thankfully, it's telling enough that Reynolds himself shared the news. Although for a second I did wonder if you guys dance-stepped upon Equestria Daily's rake yourselves.

Awesome aerobics moves. Seeing what inspired it makes it even better. Hopefully this makes it onto the Blu-ray (in a less than 1 hr 40 min format).

And yet this official fake leak is probably the best video game movie ever made, despite being an hour and 40 minutes of Detective Pikachu dancing. However, once the real deal releases, this'll be knocked off its throne.
is Detective Pikachu going to start appearing in the game "just dance" because of this or is Detective Pikachu going to become a has been and go back to being a beloved mascot for the pokemon company.
The movie actually looks really good, I actually might take the kids and wife to see it! It looks better than Endgame anyway, that one, I watched it on Facebook hehehehe.

I want to say that my 1-year-old loved this but I think it was mostly me who loved it because it was an excuse for me to spend 40 minutes or so dancing in order to entertain him. Too bad I didn't watch the whole thing... I bet it only gets better.
Not seeing this, but I have to admit that was a good joke.
