In recent years, Netflix has gravitated more and more towards the video game industry. It has got to the point where the streaming service is available on just about every device there is and the company is now acquiring creative rights to any video game series it can get its hands on.
More recently, a Stranger Things video game was announced for multiple platforms including the Nintendo Switch. Now, to top it off, the streaming giant has revealed it will be present at this year’s E3 over on Twitter. Netflix will host a panel titled “Bringing Your Favorite Shows to Life” which apparently focuses on turning original series into video games. Other than Stranger Things, there is more is expected to be revealed.
Unsurprisingly, this announcement has many fans of the streaming service wondering if Netflix will reveal its digital platform for the Nintendo Switch at this year’s E3. Last June, there was an apparent leak suggesting an app was on its way to the Switch, but since then, there’s been no evidence of it.

Yes Netflix on the switch would be a nice option, but it is not essential to a games machine. Plus we all have many other Netflix capable devices.
That's nice, what about putting Netflix on switch first???
I never even downloaded Youtube on my Switch. Maybe if my phone, laptop and TV broke all at the same time it'd be useful but as it stands, I see no reason to. Even less interested in downloading Netflix on my Switch, seeing that I don't use Netflix in the first place.
@BenAV Yeah, same. If I'm not downloading Youtube on my Switch - no chance of me grabbing Netflix. That said - if there were a few games coming to Switch based off the original series' they have going on, I'm interested.
Castlevania: The Netflix Series: The Game
13 reasons why the game.. o dear
I'd rather have games turn into series. I would love Nintendo Anime series. Kid icarus? I'm sold, Zelda? SOLD, Metroid? Sold, heck, smash Tournament (fighting anime aka Naruto style) I would cry haha but yeah I know wishful thinking.
@RupeeClock Deluxe +
Oh god no...
Why not make series or preferably films out of games instead?
I can't even think of one of their series I'd even want a game of
@Multi None of other devices I have on me at all times have a screen with a size close to the Switch. And the argument that we have other devices does not stand if it was released on so many other major consoles so far, including PS Vita - a handheld.
Sweet! I was hoping for a Stranger Things game developed by the same guys behind The Walking Dead--oh wait...
I would be interested in Netflix on Switch, but the only advantage it would have over other devices is a large, portable screen. It'd be great to have on the plane when I go on holiday later this year (if downloading episodes was also an option.)
Is this theirs too or...

NXOnNetflix, eh? So I guess this will be the E3 we finally learn about the NX; at least we know it has a Netflix app.
Alright, I'll stop being facetious for today... maybe.
Was hoping more for developing video games into Netflix series. Zelda, Metroid, a CGI StarFox series, loads of potential there
@Abes3 Nah, CBS All Access but it aired on Netflix in the UK.
Oh boy can't wait for the Castlevania game adaptation
@YessMasster You don't have a phone? The switch display is tiny for its size. Hold your phone over it one time. The bezels are huge, it really detracts from the device.
@YessMasster i did say it would be a nice option to have (so I'm not against the idea), but as I say it's not essential to any gaming machine.
@StevenG Bezel or not, My phone's screen size is 5.2'', while Switch has 1'' more. So there's that, and the fact that I can more easily plug it into hotel TVs. That would make having Netflix on Switch worthwile. Of course, that's only my opinion
@Multi Indeed, not essential. However, since so many other platforms do have it, why not Switch too?
Yeah not interested in this at all
Think this has potential. As their plenty of ips that netflix now owns that could be suited for videogame adaptation.
Also it could be good business the other way round too. As an videogame with an good netflix show will get more attention as well
Isn't E3 about getting stores to buy your electronics for the Christmas season? As awesome as it is, it seems to be the wrong venue.
Of all the companies I expected to have an E3 comfrence, netflix wasn't one of them.
@MysticGengar they gotta fill the Sony void with something. Apparently this was the best they could muster.
Bird Box the game. Where the entire screen is constantly black for a 12 hour campaign.
Being on Switch will just add more choice to how I can watch Netflix but I probably wouldn't use it. I'd opt to have Netflix on TV whilst having the Switch in handheld mode.
I'm more excited about having Netflix originals come to video game. Has anyone seen that Castlevania series? I'd love to see that as a video game!
Ahhh poop my Castlevania game joke was taken already... Several times. Give me time I'll think of something...
please add Netflix to the Nintendo switch. bring amazon video as well...please...
If it's "choose your own adventure" style, I'm not interested, if you're a gamer, that was seen before many, many times.
I don’t know if it’s a quality control issue, but Hulu and YouTube both run so much more efficiently and smoothly on my Switch than on my PS4. I’ve used my PS4’s as “entertainment hubs” for years, but even the PS3 did it better. P.S. I’m not hating on Sony, just an observation. And it isn’t an internet issue.
They're going to show footage of a narcos game
Netflix on switch please
Netflix on Switch with option to use Labo VR would be cool.
Voltron and Altered Carbon would be cool choices... I would also play the hell out of a point and click adventure Bojack Horseman game.
finally NETFLIX is coming to the switch is about time
The bloat of both industries make them insensitive to the others' finesse. I wonder what they'll get out of it.
If they make a castlevania game based on the tv series, maybe itll be as good as the other game that's based on a movie which is based on a game. Street fighter the movie (the game) haha
Cinema into videogames? Sounds like the company Ocean all over again. No thanks. There's no guarantee they will be of quality. Boy... money knows no bounds, I tell ya.
Black Mirror. Love Death Robots. Trollhunters. 3 Below. ArQ. The umbrella academy.
It is criminal of Netflix of removing the user review feature.
Make an FMV game similar to Bandersnatch? I know there's already some on Switch but Bandersnatch was really fun!
Also, PUT NETFLIX ON SWITCH ALREADY!
Could care less about their video game adaptations. If only I could watch Netflix in bed with my trusty Switch, it would be awesome - seriously what's the freaking delay? Until discontinues this year, the lowly Wii had Netflix since, what, 2008? Unacceptable. I mean, Hulu works fine. Whose fault is this? Nintendo's or Netflix?
Give me a hilariously depressing Bojack Horseman game please
I guess one of the games will be that Dragon Prince game the creators talked about ages ago.
