Word on the street is Yacht Club Games will be publishing a new title alongside Shovel Knight: King of Cards and Shovel Knight Showdown. Better yet, this new game will also be making an appearance later this month at PAX East 2019.
So, what is this mysterious title? Right now, there's absolutely no information about it, other than the following line and GIF:
But… wait… from the shadows… there’s something completely different in store:
From what we can establish, it appears to be a ninja looking out at a ruined city. Just to make it clear, this is part of the Yacht Club Games publisher catalog, which previously handled the release of the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack.
Are you looking forward to this reveal? How about the upcoming Shovel Knight expansions? Tell us below.

They keep announcing new things but I'm still waiting for King of Cards + the amiibo to come out...
I'm just joking around, take your time to make an awesome game!
Absolutely loved Shovel Knight. I think I actually managed to beat it a while ago too.
Where ever Yacht Club Games goes, I support.
Awesome! Really waiting for next Shovel Knight game related releases and any New game is also welcome.
I know that Yacht Club isn't actually developing it, but if they put their name on anything I'm automatically excited for it.
So something similar to the old school Ninja Gaiden NES title?
Finally a new title
No clue what it is. Still an instabuy.
They make such great games I'd pre-order this puppy with nothing to go on but their involvement
I say it's probably Cyber Shadow, an awesome game that has been in development for a while now!
Oh I was super excited but if it is not develop by them I probably would not care anymore. But let's wait and see
@radicalnetwork That's what I was going to say!
Post-apocalyptic 8-bit Ninjas? SIGN ME UP!!
Will buy if whenever on sale.
Looks like a post apocalyptic The Messenger.
But if it is on the level of Shovel Knight, and they bring out a physical, will definately buy it
Well, looks like another take on Ninja Gaiden. At least that's the first impression for me.
@TossedLlama
And that's AWESOME!
Exciting news. Perhaps their next big project is an homage to the 16-32 bit era of gaming? (SNES) can’t wait for the unveiling.
they rock... i had a blast with shovel knight! I struggle to decide the best between shovel knight, hollow knight or celeste! def ill pick their new game!
So they aren't actually making the game then. Well I hope when the game's revealed that the real developers can get some recognition rather than just whoever's publishing the game.
The title is misleading. It's like saying: "Yact Clubs games has a new game coming out, actually it's not Yact Club games, but thanks for reading the article"
Can only be awesome !
@proof21 Actually it isn't. The title literally states "Shovel Knight Developer Yacht Club Games is PUBLISHING A New Title".
PUBLISHING. Not DEVELOPING.
Simplified: "The developers of Shovel Knight are publishing a game that has not previously been released elsewhere."
The title is to the point.
Yacht Club? Check. Ninja? Check. 8 bit style? Check. Interested Meter 98% and stable.
@Blizzia opps...yep you're right
I'm excited! Shovel Knight was awesome!
Yacht club games themselves are a one trick pony. The only game they know how to make and rehash again and again is shovel knight. This game is being published by them not developed. I guess it would be to much trouble for them to try something new.
Shovel Knight is one of my most played games. In fact, I own it on all three major Nintendo platforms. Looking forward to this announcement.
I love me some pixel art but can't play games that are too much on the homage side of things. I never played 8 or 16 bit games as a kid and I find them awkward to play as an adult. Dead Cells, Hyper Light Drifter, Celeste, The Messenger, and Stardew Valley on Switch are what got me back into gaming after the great game drought I experienced post The Witcher 3. Shovel Knight I wanted to love but it was just too clunky for me. I'm still looking forward to this but I hope it's a little more modern in its implementation than the last.
Well thank god. I love shovel Knight as much as the next guy, but I must admit I'm happy to see a fresh new title from Yacht Club. I'm anxious to see if its any good!
@GameOtaku Super harsh! The reason Yacht Club have only focused on Shovel Knight campaigns is because they painted themselves into a corner by promising all this extra content on the original Kickstarter. I think they’ve come out and said they can’t wait to work on something new, even though they still love Shovel Knight (which is fantastic anyway, and not IMHO a stick to beat them with).
@proof21 I must admit I'm surprised. It's a 1 in a million chance someone ever admits they're wrong on the internet.
Respect to you man. Keep it up
@Krull
It may be harsh but it's accurate. It's the same game over and over with only minor changes so the extra characters can show off. Maybe start on Shovel Knight 2 or a new IP.
Sure. I love Shovel Knight and I've been sayin that if Yacht Club starts branching out more with new games then they could someday make a name for themselves.
If whatever this is, is as tightly controlled, challenging but fair, charming and aesthetically pleasing as SK, we should be in for a good time.
That's great. I do love Shovel Knight.
Love for all things YCG.
The image definitely looks interesting. I am kind of curious now. By the headline of the article, I showed no interest. After that though, I kind of want to see what it is. I don't have super high hopes but I am still curious.
Awww, pixels look again, bummer...
... Shinobi?! I wish lol
Well it be better than the Messenger? Just one favor though Yacht Club Game, please don't be 8-Bit. The Messenger surprise me when it begin as an 8-Bit action platformer but then explode into a 16-Bit extravaganza mid way through, this game better not be another 8-Bit pixel game. I love Shovel Knight but I believe it's time to move away from the 8-Bit territory.
I am intrigued.
