Cooking simulation game Waku Waku Sweets will bring its delectable delights to Nintendo Switch this week, it has been revealed.
The trailer above gives us a good look at what you can expect to see and do, with players taking on the role of the aptly named Lime to cook up various treats. Using Joy-Con motion controls, players can shake, tilt, and rotate their way through more than 100 different recipes, even facing off against opponents in cook-offs.
That's not all, though, as you can also customise your character's outfit and hairstyles and chat with other characters hanging around in the game's world. A website has launched for the title, letting you explore the different characters and activities present in the game, and you can check that out for yourself right here if you'd like to learn a little more.
Waku Waku Sweets will launch on 22nd November across Europe and North America. You'll be able to grab a copy for €29.99 / $29.99 until 12th December, after which it’ll be bumped up to its usual price of €39.99 / $39.99.

I'm already a cooking master. My frosted flakes are top notch. I've perfected the milk to cereal ratio.
No this looks just like cooking mama. Like a drag... i’d rather make some real stuff. Time for christmas baking soon. Mmm fudge, mmm lussebullar
If it controls well it could be fun but I'm not sure about the price.
I'm getting Wii flashbacks.
There was a Japanese physical version of this (Japanese only, I'm afraid). For the price, it would have been nice for there to have been a physical release in the west, even a very limited one. They could have tapped into the market that exists for games such as Cooking Mama.
Cooking Mama needs to come to Switch FAST to collect this game’s wig...
Why do these even show up in the new, why do you act excited when we all know it'll be crap and it'll get a very low score?
That price tagg yeeshhh
Looks fun, just not $39.99 fun.
Man, I'd love Cooking Mama to make a return on Switch... Trauma Center, too, for that matter.
A bit pricey for a cooking sim??? $14.99??
give me that cake!
I'm interested. Not sure about that price, but I'll be watching for a sale.
Oh no, not another one of the
0w0 I'M AN ANIME GIRL BUY THIS GAME 0w0
games. It is so uninspiring for the millionth game with this same boring art style to release.
Oof... It's fine to be a low budget and/or casual game. But the price and the quality simply do not match up here. $9.99 would be a lot for this, but what they're asking for is flat out robbery.
What is this, some kind of Precure copy paste with Cooking Mama?
@Sabrewing aye I'd be all over a Trauma Centre return.
@Regpuppy Hmm.... gonna disagree with you about $9.99 would be a lot for this.
@Joeynator3000 Assuming eh?
@I_Am_A_Geek But it is about baking sweets (plus their are many different Anime art styles, but then again people are ignorant of the differences....no offence if you think I am offending any one).
@IceEarthGuard I'm open to changing my mind, but nothing about what I'm seeing convinces me otherwise. The gameplay doesn't look terribly engaging, the graphics make it look like a glorified visual novel, and I doubt any story in this can make me overlook everything else.
Maybe It's because good indies have raised the bar, but I've paid less for more. So the current pricetag is a definite no. 9.99 would be the Most I'd pay, and that would be a hard sell for me.
I’m looking forward to seeing how this one is different from the 3ds version (new additions so far include the ability to change clothes)...
Simple but cute and fun... light dating sim elements made for a good time
Niche game for niche people ❤️
@IceEarthGuard ....you do realize this looks like a browser/flash game right? lol
@Joeynator3000 Whatever floats your boat. But a "browser/flash" game does not mean it is bad.
@Regpuppy Alright, just mostly saying that because the Cooking Mama series goes for about this price (well the newer ones). (but then again everyone does value a certain game differently in their mind).
@IceEarthGuard I'd argue that Cooking Mama tends to have a higher level of polish, and more refined gameplay. But yeah, I don't really value Cooking Mama at a full 39.99 or 29.99 either. I'd put it at 14.99 to 19.99, because it has a more appealing art style and is blatantly designed for little girls, like my niece.
@Regpuppy Well I do agree with you on that.
Yay !
The first "Cooking Mama" game on Nintendo Switch.
