Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced a Fire Emblem Expo event, scheduled to take place in Japan next year.
Exact details surrounding this mysterious new Expo are rather few and far between at the moment, but we do know that the live event is set to take place on 4th May 2019 at the Zepp Tokyo venue. Tickets will go on sale to the public on 28th December 2018 at 6pm JST, and these can be found at the Expo's shiny new website.
The website also states that more information will be shared during the next TCG Fire Emblem 0 (Cipher) broadcast - set to take place on 8th December at 8pm JST on YouTube and NicoNico Live (that's 3am PST / 6am EST / 11am GMT / midday CET).
Of course, the upcoming Fire Emblem: Three Houses is still scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch in spring 2019, so it's possible that this Expo will tie into that game's release in some way - we'll have to wait for more details on this to be sure, though.
Will you be tuning in on the 8th December? What delights do you think this Fire Emblem Expo will hold in 2019? Feel free to speculate with us in the comments below.

Damn, I guess it's not coming out til May then.
I know that fire emblem is bigger in Japan but an event just for it appears to be a massive deal in terms of pushing the brand forward
I hope this opens the doors for more Nintendo themed conventions. I would love a Pokémon Expo in particular.
@ReaderRagfish I see what you did there.
Fire Emblem "Expo"? So I imagine it will for sure be a Fire Emblem videogame exposition, but I have a feeling it will also be a congregation for FE cosplay, like a YumaCon of sorts. Stay tuned I guess.
@ReaderRagfish This isn't a furry convention my dude.
If it weren't in Japan, I'd go for sure
I certainly hope that Three Houses is released around that time and that this is more of a release party rather than a release-date-announcement expo. I think we've had to wait long enough for that game at this point!
If it launches in May, it'll still technically make its "Spring 2019" release date. Seems like such a long time, though. Hopefully Nintendo surprises us with something else before then. Nothing would make the early months melt away like a Pikmin or Animal Crossing game.
Yes can't wait for Fire Emblem: The Three Houses. My hope is that this is not an expo for another mobile game ala Diablo Immortal. Please do not announced Fire Emblem Heroes 2 as the main attraction at this event Nintendo, that would really piss everyone off.
Besides Three Houses, it will feature an announcement of Fire Emblem Heroes Switch version.
What? Don't you guys have consoles?
@retro_player_22 I don't know who "everyone" is but since I am already one individual that doesn't mind a Fire Emblem Heroes 2, that means that your "everyone would really be pissed off" sentence does not stand true.
Will likely watch it later since I have to pick up smash bros
I am hoping cipher gets a console game.
And of course a three houses release date.
@nhSnork Three Houses...I’m pretty sure is on Switch?
"8th December at 8pm JST on YouTube and NicoNico Live (that's 3am PST / 6am EST..."
That's actually 6am on the 8th of December, not the 9th. Oops.
They should Blizzard-troll everybody and spent the whole thing talking about FE: Heroes on mobile.
@Cosats Cause if they make Fire Emblem Heroes 2, they will end support of the first game and if you're one of those money throwing peasants that invest in that game. Say farewell to all those contents you recently invested in. Same thing if they ever make part 3, then part 2 and everything in that one will be gone as well. Imagine if you had to replace your phone and attempt to redownload the game again, you will not be able to cause then it will no longer exist.
I guess Three Houses may no longer be Spring 2019 then, makes sense as there's been nothing since E3. Not a problem though as backlog is still massive and Smash appears to have a very strong single player.
@Grumblevolcano
Well, Spring 2019 ends June 21st, so it could still easily make the Spring deadline.
@Ryu_Niiyama I was actually hoping they'd announce they're going to localize the card game until I read the expo is in Japan. Cipher on Switch would be just as awesome.
I guess games that Nintendo announce and then push back and two years later they see the light of day are not worth bothering about. When they are eventually released and the reviews come out then I will consider a purchase.
Life is to short to bother about hype.
@KryptoniteKrunch They could do a Mario Tennis Aces situation but I don't see it being earlier than June now.
So we really not having any big release in the first 4 months of 2019 - again... 🙄
I have Home covered till May 2019, just need 1 or 2 for on the GO
I know the following statement is an exaggeration, but....
Why does Japan get all the nice things?
Sounds foreboding, if a little ominous, about my has-been favorite series after Fates
@retro_player_22 I stopped playing awhile ago, fell behind and lost interest... but I’d regain interest if they released a sequel that started over in terms of content. Clean slate. And I mean, I never threw a dime into that game, you don’t have to, you get enough stuff for free.
I have a bad feeling about the schedule release now. It is almost certain that this game will be postponed
But it is better than a rushed game tbh
@retro_player_22 You do not need to worry so much. Enjoy the Switch and the awesome games that Nintendo and 3rd parties (small ones and big ones) are offering. Be glad that most of the games on offer are of very good quality too.
Even if this results in a gap of quality games for Spring 2019, there are enough games releasing just in December that have great play values.
Huh. And to think that a few years ago, before Awakening, Fire Emblem was this close to becoming a dormant franchise.
@ReaderRagfish “Prepare yourself”
Uhm, no! The international dateline is in the Pacific Ocean, east of Japan, not west of Japan. December 8 20:00 JST (UTC+9) is December 8th everywhere in the world including two time zones in the far east across the international dateline that actually observe UTC+13 and UTC+14.
@mjharper
“That's 6am on the 9th of December, FYI.
“8th December at 8pm JST on YouTube and NicoNico Live (that's 3am PST / 6am EST...””
@BornInNorway81 Hah, you're right. Comment retracted.
@retro_player_22 I don't think that would be comparable considering that the Diablo Immortal fiasco was basically a repeat of the Metroid Prime Federation Force announcement. If anything, more Fates and Awakening recognition would probably be what does it since the fanbase has such a throbbing hate boner for those games and especially 4 characters from them in particular. I'm getting a bag of popcorn ready for when they announce another alt for Camilla and Tharja during the event and everyone there goes nuclear because they aren't from the GBA or Tellius games.
Best timeline to be alive!
