XSEED Games has confirmed that it is bringing the action RPG Fate/Extella Link to the west.
The much-anticipated sequel to Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, this new outing will launch on Switch, PlayStation 4 PS Vita and Steam in Q1 2019.
In other good news, Switch owners will be getting the same premium 'Fleeting Glory' special edition (which costs a cool $79.99) as their PS4-owning pals; this fancy box contains a soundtrack CD, a pack of 10 collectable 3” by 5” cards depicting each of the new Servants, a 17” by 24” cloth poster and a 3” by 4.5” acrylic diorama. Yum.
Switch players will also be able to engage in 4-on-4 online battles with up to 7 other players, just like in the PS4 version.
Will you be picking this one up? Tell us with a comment.

I know I shouldn’t be saying this on NintendoLife, but it makes me happy that this is also coming to Vita. I don’t own a Vita, but it feels like those fans have been neglected by developers over the years, just like we were with the Wii U.
Mostly happy it is coming to Switch though.
Umm isn't this basically a Warriors game? I wouldn't call this a JRPG at all
Well good for the fans.
Not my cup of thea
Sounds good to me. :3
@Kienda the only developers that neglected vita is Sony.
The Umbral Star was one of my rare disappointments on the Switch. Warriors-style button-mashing with next to no variety in the enemies, interspersed with reeeeeeeally long bits of unskippable and utterly dire dialogue. I'll definitely give this one a miss, as there are several better Warriors games on the Switch now.
XSEED.. have to ask again. Any confirmation on Europe getting this?
That's good to know, I'll pick this if this come to Europe
Cool, guess I'll pick it up once I am done with all the other Musou style games on the Switch.
Does anybody know if the sequel is two player? I'm pretty certain the first one is not, I haven't unwrapped it yet but I'm pretty sure I remember it saying one player on the back.
@XenoShaun Xseed is US only, you should ask Marvelous EU this question.
And knowing Marvelous EU we get the same or even better LE.
@Rayquaza2510 I know that's why I was asking if there was any EU confirmation as they only mentioned XSEED. "West" and "XSEED" don't mix together unless they think West only means America.
Either way am sure we will get it, considering we got the first.. but didn't we get it later? Just nice if was confirmation.
Right on. Saw this listed for PS4 on Amazon and was like, where's the Switch version? Welp... here it is.
I actually thought Fate Extella was a pretty fun game. Surprisingly so.
@Kienda
Eh.
Most Vita gamers have moved on to Switch for their portable gaming needs by now anyways, myself included. Even at the time of Switch's launch, Vita was on life support. By this point it's just been dead for so long... anyone looking for quality portable gaming has long since migrated to Switch. The few people who at one point would have cared, will now just buy a better looking, better running Switch version that offers full HD portable play, full console play and a full button set. The few stragglers who haven't yet migrated are likely so insignificant by this point, that it's not even worth releasing games on Vita anymore. Even in Japan, which held on much longer than the west.
It's not that I'm necessarily against it (as long as it's coming to Switch, what do I care), it's just that I don't think there's many people left who will care. Even 3DS, which was far more popular than Vita, is nearly irrelevant for portable gaming now that Switch is on the scene.
@JaxonH Still getting it for Persona dancing.
@Kamiyouni
