Hamster has confirmed that this week's Neo Geo title heading to Switch is none other than Real Bout Fatal Fury 2.
Yes, this fighting game will be joining Hamsters' ever-growing lineup of faithfully reproduced classic titles, becoming available on Switch this Thursday (16th August). The original game was released by SNK back in 1998, actually becoming the seventh title in the Fatal Fury series, but if you haven't come across the game before, here's a quick overview to get you up to speed:
Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 is a fighting game released by SNK in 1998. It is the 7th title in the Fatal Fury series. New elements have been added on top of refining the previous systems. This entry adds Rick Strowd and Li Xiangfei as playable characters, and Geese Howard makes his return as well!
As mentioned above, the game will be available to download from the Switch's eShop from 16th August, priced at $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.29. It joins Real Bout Fatal Fury and Real Bout Fatal Fury Special on the digital storefront, giving you plenty of fighting action to choose from.
Will you be dishing out some Fatal Fury to your opponents later this week? Let us know if you'll be grabbing this one with a comment below.

Time to get the whole lot.
Finally the best of the Real Bout series but sadly this one is another one of those that doesn't had any story.
Nice! Bring it on!
I just bought the first. I like games with a story.
So in the Real Bout subseries 2 is the dream match one? Does RB Special have a story?
Loved this game & plus I'm buying this one!
One of the best not only in the series, but in the Neo Geo library. Excellent game!
Loved this game so this is the next Neo Geo game I get.
Finally ! One of the best fighting game on Neo Geo, with Last Blade 2, Garou & KOF 98 (as far as I'm concerned ).
@John_Deacon Agreed. RB2 gets overlooked, and while I kind of understand why, it's my personal favorite of the series.
Finally!!!! Now i can complete the entire Fatal Fury Series on my Switch!!!! Still hoping for King of Fighters 2001, 2002 and 2003 so i can have all of those as well!!! The Switch is doubling as my Neo Geo machine and i couldn’t be happier!!!!
Meanwhile on the other side of the pond, XBox is having a Sale on a select few of the Neo Geo games on XBONE (As well as the 360 ports.). Perhaps we could finally see a Sale on the Switch versions soon enough.
Do you guys think there might be a collection of all these fighting neo geo games later?
Racism and apology by the ghost. This is low-sales trashy franchise.
I wuv you Hamster...
Will be mine!
i liked real bout 1 better in real bout 2 they cut alot of the combo abilty from the first game.
getting the RB2 for sure but is Samurai Shodown V special coming ?
@MagicdropIII They were able to bring Samurai Shodown V over so I believe the special version would be able to make it. The only game that may not come is Samurai Shodown VI which is not a NeoGeo game but I'm still hoping for HAMSTER to bring Atomiswave arcade titles to Switch soon too.
Well this completes most of their fighting game series, I guess they could release the last few KOF games after this.
@retro_player_22 Samurai Showdown 6, which is a flat out garbage comparing to the rest of series, I don't give a damn at all ! As long as I have the 4, 2, 5, and 5 special, I am happy !
