Over it’s multi-decade run, the Kirby series has accrued quite a collection of memorable tunes, many of which get revisited time and again in latter releases. Indeed, there’s a certain kind of wondrous playfulness to much of Kirby’s music; there’s nothing else out there quite like it. In celebration of this long musical history, and as a follow up to the Japanese symphony orchestra that was celebrating the series’ 25th anniversary, HAL has opted to put not one, not two, but three Kirby soundtracks live on music services around the globe.
Head on over to iTunes, Google Play, or Spotify and you’ll see that Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert, Kirby Memorial Arrangement, and Kirby: Planet Robobot Original Soundtrack are up for purchase. That first one features tracks from the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra that put on the 25th Anniversary concert, the second features new tracks from the same orchestra that didn’t show up at the concert, and the third one features the complete soundtrack of Kirby’s last major 3DS release. If this sounds like something that interests you, be sure to give the music a listen. Who knows, maybe if there’s enough interest, that orchestra might come overseas…
What do you think? Would you go to a Kirby concert? What’s your favorite Kirby track? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

That's a nice way to celebrate! I'd love to see a rerelease of the Dream Collection for Switch with the GBA games on board as well, but I know that's a pipe dream at this point.
Kirby is definitely up there in my top series. Nostalgia is so strong with it; I remember playing the original Gameboy release on that huge hunk of plastic. It just felt... right.
@link3710 I'd say chances of Nintendo making franchise-based collections are more likely now that they won't detract from VC sales. It's working really well for Capcom so far. I'd love a Zelda collection, a Metroid collection... maybe an EarthBound collection, featuring Beginnings, 1 and 2? Okay, now that's a pipe dream.
I’ve heard samples of the orchestral soundtrack and it’s phenomenal. I’ll be downloading that for sure.
Cool! My personal favorite Kirby track is City Trial from Air Ride. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW0NiufrMsQ
EDIT: Wow...and then today smash bros site uploads remix of this song. My prediction powers are on point!
...I haven't played Robobot yet for some reason. But yeah, Nintendo in general needs to put out more soundtracks for us. Japan always gets them in disc form, yet we rarely get anything. At least Pokemon gives us the music. lol
Oh I hope its available on google music in my country (had to move over from spotify due to their new dumb family sharing requirements).
Edit: yep they're there. Added them orchestra and arrangements albums to my playlist~
That’s pretty neat
I bought the first Kirby gameboy game when it came out and loved the soundtrack. The game had a sound test 'cheat' code so you could listen to all the music tracks separately.
But orchestral game music just sounds corny to me. And I've been to a live video game orchestra. To me, the tracks lose their mojo and sound...flaccid. The style just doesn't suit original chiptune/electronic tracks.
Not to switch tracks or franchises for that matter. I would love for the Splatoon soundtracks to become available for streaming as well
Odd. On Google Play the Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra only sells the songs individually, but doesn't list a price for the entire album.
Great. I hope other Nintendo franchises follow. I've listened to the 25th Anniversary Concert before and was going to buy the CD from Japan sooner or later but now I can just add the songs to my Spotify playlist.
I spent YEARS saying "Whispy Woods Land" from Kirby's Pinball Land (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeUgEWXx_lo) should be rearranged/remixed for another game. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse passed with its unlockable tunes and I was still disappointed by the missed opportunity. Who'd have thought it would finally get its rearrangement in a live orchestra to celebrate the series?
Also, the Kirby Mass Attack medley is pretty great! Wish it had one more track to sweeten the deal and that it sounded a smidge more different from the game counterparts, but I'm definitely downloading it.
All good stuff. The title song from Kirby's Adventure (NES) is still one of my favorites.
Does anybody know if this is also on deezer?
Robobots soundtrack is phenomenal, especially some of the remixes of returning tracks
Great!
I'm new to Spotify, anyone know how to search this and be sure it's this? Search results for "Kirby" leads to an artist named "Kirby's dream band" and I assume it's not this.
Also, anyone knows whatever happened to the Xenoblade 2 OST for Spotify? Or how to search it? I get a lot of Xenoblade 1 songs uploaded from random users.
Memorial arrangement. Confirmed canon, Kirby is DEAD
Awesome, will check it out.
@KayFiOS Well, the one thing that worries me is are there official emulators for then to use with no VC? We know there's a Wii one and an NES one, but that's it so far.
@KayFiOS @link3710 I think Nintendo's just going to lock their retro library behind the paid online service. Year 1 of the paid online service be NES, year 2 be SNES, etc.
Hopefully this is a sign of them opening up to these services. Would be great to get more Official Nintendo OSTs on Spotify!
@RandomLeo00 Search for the full album name. It also came up when I searched for kirby 25th, and Kirby robobot. Although Robobot alone did not come up with anything which is interesting.
Kirby's dream band is a band that has some great arrangements of Kirby stuff. Worth checking them out as well
Ooh! Do they have the one Kirby song that goes "BA DA-DA DA DA-DA DA, DA-DA DA-DA DA-DA DA DAAA, DA-DA DA-DA DA-DA DAAA, DA DA DA DA DA!" over and over?
@DrJiggle Are you referring to the boss music from Kirby 64?
@WreckItRyan I haven't played Kirby Air Ride, is it any good?
@wazlon yeah! That's the one!
Nice! I'll definitely give the 25th Anniversary orchestra a listen on Apple Music.
But is it on Amazon..?
Sweet, it is!
And I'm glad they're putting up more official music on digital stores, it's about time! Nintendo classics music is fantastic, and I'm surprised they haven't capitalized more on it until more recent years (similar to the long wait for Mega Man music to be released at an affordable price, digitally). Similar to amiibo and Nintendo bringing their IP to a quality toy form, but I'm glad amiibo's success has encouraged them to release more official Nintendo toys/apparel/merch
