Super Mario Run might not have as many rolling content updates as the likes of Pokemon GO and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, but that doesn't mean Mario's first foray into smartphone gaming is event-free. Take the new Gold Goomba Life Event, which just went live on the premium endless runner/platformer.
A smaller version of the Gold Goomba event, it's essentially a way to make earning statues such as the Captured Goomba Statue, Captured Chain Chomp Statue, Captured Hammer Bro Statue and that all important Sappy Statue. So jump back in and give it a try!
Are you still playing Super Mario Run? If not, are you tempted to jump back once more? We want to hear your thoughts...

Yeah no it won't.
I’m sorry it wont
I played it like any other Super Mario Bros game. Put out some new levels and I’ll go back to playing it.
Played all the levels, collected most of the coins, haven't played it for about a year, this will not tempt me back
You can't be tempted back to where you've never been.
Yeah I'll pass...
I recently started playing SMR again just to earn Daisy. Might as well check this out.
So sad this is a run type of game. A simple platformer would have make it an instant hit. What a waste.
I admit I had to boot up the app to find out what this “Sappy Statue” was. It’s Cappy, for anyone else playing at home.
The title says lite, but the article says life
I'M SO CONFUSED!!!!!!!
I still play that app a lot. My favorite Nintendo app so far, well worth the asking price if I may say so myself
I still play it from time to time, like once a week. Mainly for platinum coins with Toad Rally and events like this.
Nope. Not intrested.
I think I'd rather insert my private parts inside a toaster whilst taking a Bath
Why did you call it an endless runner?
I got it with a 50% discount but still felt expensive. The game is very very short and the vs matches get boring quickly. Not sure about this update. They should have added more stages to the main game instead.
Most underrated Mario game of all-time. Might see what the update has to offer.
Lite or Life? Because the title says Lite and the article says Life.
@bluedogrulez Indeed. It's a shame most "gamers" are so small minded as to completely dismiss this game without ever giving a fair chance. IMO, it's the least expensive Mario game ever made, while still retaining all of the fun of the series. I think I may have put as many hours into it as in Odyssey, and I'm still missing some of the coins in the star level (blame the Switch for that).
Interesting how you don't even mention Nintendo's best mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes.
@nab1: Right on!!
@Marios-love-child That sounds shockingly painful
Haven't tried Super Mario Run. Have Rayman Jungle Run on my phone and near the end but mobile games just don't draw me in, haven't touched it for months.
Only have the free version. I keep it on my tablet becauase my 5 and 3 year old will play it every blue moon. The fact that even at 4 and 2 they could beat the first world was all I needed to see to know there was no way I was dropping $10 on such a simplistic game.
Thank goodness for Fire Emblem heroes, way better mobile offering.
I don't understand all the special events and such, but perhaps I don't play enough games on mobile to know or care.
The game is surprisingly great, it's quite a bit of fun going back to each level for the new set of coins. Still haven't gone through all the coins yet, but that's only because the wifi or data connection is mandatory. That means it mostly gets played at home - the place I'm least likely to play mobile games. I've tried Nintendo's other mobile offerings, don't like them anywhere near as much. Wish they would make some new levels...
