Recently, we reported on the news that Switch was getting a revised edition of the vertically-scrolling shooter Psyvariar, originally created by Success Corporation.
It has now been revealed in Weekly Famitsu that the game will be called Psyvariar Delta, and it launches on Switch and PS4 on August 30th.
Psyvariar Delta is being pitched as an enhanced version of 2000's Psyvariar Revision, boasting high-resolution graphics and new modes.
The game will launch in both digital and physical formats. There's no word on a western release as yet, but we'd imagine it's quite possible - the original game was released on the PS2 in Europe.

I think the title was based solely on the cool, angular letters used... Especially if they spell the name "PSYVARIAR Δ". For someone not used to Roman alphabet this must look ridiculous
August is a good month for grazing. I can't wait!
May have to import me a copy!
Looks like a butt kicker
I'm happy to live in bullet hell 😎
I'll see you on the leader boards guys
Awesome! I hope this will lead to more classic Success shmups coming to the Switch, particularly the Castle of Shikigami trilogy, the Cotton series and my favourite shmup Psyvariar 2.
Physical edition? Hell yeah!
Physical? Shut up and take my money!
Nice. But the fact it's going physical actually has me a bit worried, as in, what price point will it be? With so much awesome shooter business from the likes of Hamster that it's hard for me to get anything that breaks a tenner.
Cool!
@Dethmunk
I just played that with a friend on PS2. Treasure really did an awesome job with that game. I’ve got my eye on the ‘Silpheed’ game they made, also.
@SmaggTheSmug
While that's a funny theory, i think it's sinply because it's the fourt version of the first Psyvariar game.
An absolutely fantastic shooter.
@VinnieMii I love Treasure, Silpheed is their absolute worst hour, slow, weak guns, super boring. The original Silpheed on Sega Cd is amazinbg though.
