Super Mario Odyssey's recent update to version 1.2.0 brought with it the wonderful addition of Luigi's Balloon World - a free DLC update which tasks players with hiding and finding balloons from other players across the globe. Alongside this new mini-game of sorts, however, a change has also been made to the reward that players receive when 100% completing the game. If it isn't already obvious, those who do not want to have anything spoiled should stop reading now.
Previously, if you managed to collect every single Power Moon, Regional Coin, and cleared every single stage - including the 'Hard Mode Bowser' stage that unlocks after finding all of the collectibles - you would be presented with a postcard featuring the game's main cast to celebrate your amazing achievement. It looked a little something like this:
Since the update, however, a very small - but also cute and welcoming - change has been made to the postcard. Can you spot the difference?
Yes, now that Luigi plays a part in the game, you can now see him flying through the air above the castle like the true legend that he really is. It's a small change, but we love it.
Anyway, back to tracking down those last couple of Power Moons to see all of this first-hand for ourselves!

Already 100%ed the game. Now I have to to it again to see Luigi?
Challenge Accepted!
Oh nintendo ! They are the master at putting details / Easter Eggs
Up, up and Away.....
It never even dawned on me that Luigi isn't (wasn't) in the game before this patch.
That's pretty cool. Still haven't tried the dlc yet but it seems to be a lot of fun!
I wish the reward for completing the game had been better. At least Mario 64 gave you the wing cap to play around with. You get nothing to toy around with after finishing the game 🙁
Currently I am at 828 moons. I let it rest for a while. Will pick it up again later.
yawn lameo...
That's very sweet of them to add. Unfortunately I already 100%'ed the game before the update. A single day before. sigh
I finished the primary story back in December. I started pursuing my missing moons but on a casual schedule. Once I started playing L.A. Noire, I stopped playing Odyssey altogether until the drop of the Luigi DLC. I'm loving it. It's fun to try and hide the balloons but it's really fun seeking! This hide & seek DLC has resulted in my peeked interest in the game again so I've been working through those moons again....but in all honesty, I can't do the jump rope so I'll probably finish with 998 moons!
After the Luigi DLC, my moon count jumped up from like 882 to 999 in a couple hours. Balloon World is an insane way to grab coins. I only wish they added a digit to the coin counter, so I wouldn't be maxing it out at 9,999 coins every 30 minutes.
I'm rank 41 in Balloon World and all I'm missing are 3 Find It Star Ranks, and the rest are in the Hide it Mode, which is just a waiting game... over 500 people searched for my balloons in the first two days, but now I'm lucky if I get 5 people to searvh for my balloons on any given day...
"You see that, Mario?"
"I'm-a number one."
I quite enjoyed the game, but haven't bothered to 100% it. The Luigi mini game is neat, but I would have rather unlocked Luigi as a playable character. I like all the capture mechanics, they make for fun power-ups. But the one area the game lets down is that Mario is the only playable character. I was spoiled with the variety in 3D World.
It's like the Mario Party 9 boxart all over again.
He's jumping from the rooftop. Poor thing, couldn't take it anymore.
And still no Daisy
I think this is the perfect update. I so far have not got bored of spending 15 minutes a day hunting balloons.
I know it will probably never happen as an update maybe dlc but they need to come up with a 2 player simultaneously co op Mario game where u CNA be Mario and Luigi and go through the world's together maybe needed one another to help one another get to certain areas or some kind of tag team play style idk but somethingb of the matter would be awesome and great change
He looks very shopped in.
I haven't even 100%ed my save file yet, I've been way too focused on speedrunning the game and the newly added Balloon World that's pretty much the most dangerously addicting thing to ever grace planet Earth.
