Following hot on the heels of a sizable balancing update to Splatoon 2 that went live only yesterday, Nintendo has announced today that more notable content will be releasing tomorrow. Goby Arena was revealed along with the Pearl and Marina amiibo figurines earlier this month, and you’ll get to play on this basketball court-turned-turf warzone tomorrow evening.
Nintendo confirmed on its Japanese Twitter account that the map will be available as of the following times:
– 6 PM PT (March 1)
– 9 PM ET (March 1)
– 2 AM in the UK (March 2)
– 3 AM in Europe (March 2)
Here’s a brief summary of the stage, translations courtesy of Nintendo Everything:
As you can see, the details of the sport have been fairly well preserved. The arena is complete with a full-size locker room, polished wooden court, concession stands, jumbotron, VIP seating, and memorabilia shop.
Furthermore, it appears that the arena is converted into an ink-battle stage during the offseason, and this unique location should make for exciting battles indeed. We suspect that the mid-court area, along with the two basketball hoops on each side of the court, will be a focal point for all battle types. Gaining control of the hoop on your side of the stage will give your team the high ground you need to push forward. We’ll continue to closely monitor this new development and will provide updates in due course.
What do you think? Will you be checking in to give this one a shot? Which map is your favorite? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Lets go.
It's goby good.
...puns are hard.
Awesome. Always get excited to try out a good map. Hopefully it's a fun one.
@Aerona Your team needs you. Goby a star.
It's not THAT hard. =P
Can‘t wait!

@SwitchVogel That one was par for the court.

Nice another stage. Can't wait to try this basketball court out
Awesome! Can't wait to try it out.
On a side note, I got destroyed in rainmaker last night by someone named "Team poo".
Yeahh, it's the Splat Jam
You're a kid
You're a squid
In the Splat Jammm
Oh yeah
@Aerona Goby bad at puns somewhere else, leave it to the profreshionals. No need to get inkcited, but when it comes to puns, I don't squid around.
(i have no remorse 😂)
Awesome! I got Splatoon 2 just after Christmas so I’m glad they’re still doing all kinds of updates.
Looks Cool.
@Hikingguy
Yes! Splatzones on Mahi-Mahi Resort was so fun.
@Hikingguy I forgot about Saltspray Rig, loved that level in Splatoon.
Would love it if I could listen to music tracks from the first Splatoon, even if it was an Amiibo unlock. I miss some of the music from the first game, especially the "one minute left" (Now or Never) track.
Oh, totally forgot about that one! It's really time to get back into Splatoon 2...
@Hikingguy @wazlon I agree! We need more maps and music from the first game. Not Saltspray Rig though, it was broken - especially in RM. I loved to play SZ on Saltspray in the early days, but this and Bluefin Depot are the only two maps that definitely shouldn't return IMHO.
But I can't wait for Mahi Mahi and Camp Triggerfish... and Urchin Underpass, Hammerhead Bridge etc.
And when are they finally gonna release the Custom Dual(ie) Squelcher? I'm desperately wainting for that set.
Awesome. More maps are always welcome!
@shani Nooooooo! Not dualie squelchers. I'm always getting splatted by squelchers, a dual set would be my worst nightmare
