We're big fans of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Ubisoft's impressive strategy title that blends intelligent design with a whole lot of whimsy and humour. Pleasingly the development team continues to make adjustments alongside expansion pass content and free goodies, with a fresh update making some welcome changes.
The patch notes explain the addition of hints on the loading screen, tips in the event of a game over in addition to the simple but welcome ability to jump to Battle HQ before a battle. A couple of levels have also had their difficulty adjusted due to the spikes they represented.
The changelog is below.
While players are getting ready for their next Battle during a Loading Screen, they will now be able to scroll between different Tips providing advice and details about the game based on its current progression.
Players will now have direct access to Battle HQ during the preparation phase. Of course, players can still jump directly to the heat of the Battle. But why not take some time upgrading their heroes to try out some of the Tips read during the Loading?
Every time a Battle is lost, the game will now provide Pro Tips to help Players succeed on the next try. Tips are tailored for battles to offer the most relevant advice when needed.
Two battles are now easier as they represented a difficulty spike in the overall difficulty curve:
- World 2-2 Battle 1: UNDERGARMENT GULCH
- World 2-4 Battle 1: SQUARE ONE
Have you been enjoying Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle this year?

This game kicks my butt, so pro tips are welcome.
Can we make the later half of World 4 a bit easier? I’ve been stuck there for weeks.
It's amazing how great this game turned out. It's on my wishlist along with Mario Kart 8 dx, Splatoon 2, Project Octopath Traveler along with a bunch of other games.
The game didn't really need to get easier. If it's too tough just farm coins and upgrade your weapons
I have already 100% and want to play more, but to be honest, the difficulty annoyed me a little. Should I buy the DLC?
cool, i only just started world 2 so this will be helpful.
Just about to start this game. Can't wait!
But the main question is did they fix the game breaking glitch that crashes the game when I use Luigi, Rabbid Luigi and Mario during the final boss encounter? I will have to see if the issue still persists.
OMG thank you! I’ve already bet the game but almost gave up a few times because of difficulty. I’m glad they made it easier so it won’t put others off.
I just got the game in the big eShop sale, so these updates are just kinda the base game for me, haha.
The games a must have
Such a good game. Now that they've patched the heck out of this, I need to go back and complete all of the extra challenges (unpatched last world was a bit buggy... especially the last boss!)
Did they patch that glitch where just before the Jr border battle l, the pipe maze doesn't allow you to go back once you retrieve the item in the chest in the back of the maze
I love this game, but I’ve already completed the main part of the game. Some of those bonus levels are kicking my but. I don’t think this update will help with those
I do plan to come back to this.
Right now I'm booked though. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 just got a crucial patch so the map screen now opens to your location, the in-game minimap has a new zoomed out option, Tiger Tiger got an easy mode and new DLC items with rare crystals and a legendary.
And after that it's all Monster Hunter.
But sometime in 2018, I will finish Mario Rabbids. It's one heck of a great game.
@JaxonH finish it. The best challenges are near the end.
@Savlep99 I used exactly the same guys and had no problem. Is it a knowed glitch?
@Whopper744
Have you gone back through worlds 1-3 to get a "PERFECT" score yet? Also, do all of the Challenge battles to earn a lot of Power Orbs so you can upgrade your Skill Trees and coins so you can have the best weapons. It takes some time but it is fun and it makes those battles slightly more possible.
Great game. Beat it early on but am excited to replay it sometime with the updates!
@setezerocinco I had contacted Ubisoft about it and they were supposed to be working on fixing the issue. The game would crash during the final boss' first move after I set up both Mario and Luigi with their hero sight power. The game always crashed on Luigi's third shot.
@JaxonH "crucial patch"
Yeah, I'm pretty much waiting on every game from now on. I can't even think of an exception. Between DLC, updates, patches, season passes and price drops sometimes weeks after release - go look up Lego Marvel 2 - there's really just no point in Day 1 anymore.
I think I'm so done w/ Day 1 this is going to be my last post about waiting. Your welcome.
Happy holidays. Time for a week off from everything I think.
One of the top games this year - totally worth a purchase if you haven't already. Target has a great deal on it - 50 percent off when bought with another Switch game.
@rjejr
It's not always like that. Xenoblade X was the same game from the date released until now.
And admittedly, this patch doesn't do anything that changes the game it just makes it a heck of a lot more convenient.
The season pass, we don't even know what it's going to include. I love the game so I bought it day one regardless, because any added content is content I want.
But waiting does ensure you get all the patches and stuff. I don't have the patience for that though. I wait long enough for a game to release as is. There's no possible way on this earth I could wait another year just because the map doesn't open to your current location. The only thing that could possibly make me wait is a game breaking bug that I'm likely to encounter.
YES! Ubisoft is showing us that they are really wanting to give us tje best experience and all of these great patches make the game feel more complete. So glad I got this game (it gets a bit hard sometimes hehe).
@JaxonH I hear ya, waiting was never my strong point either, either I wanted a game enough to get it day 1 or I didn't want it enough to get it at all. Now, well my backlog could probably take me the rest of my life if I never bought another game ever again so...
And besides XCX there was also SMO which so far has released near perfection. But why risk it? I'm risk adverse. Have you seen the price of bitcoin today?
OK now I'm done for the next 7 days.
@rjejr enjoy the holidays hope your boys have fun.
I really did not find the game all that hard. I used Mario (duh) Rabbit Luigi and Rabbit Peach pretty much the whole game. Focused on mobility. Used honey property weapons on all but rabbit Luigi who used vampire. Was a very sturdy team. Lots of defense/healing powers.
Kinda sad that when I reply the game it will be easier, but I guess other combinations of characters were harder. Idk.
@MartyFlanMJFan You too. Going to be a very fun holiday at your house I think, Switch, SMO, Mario + Rabbids. Am I missing anything?
Be safe, stay warm and have fun.
I love Mario+Rabbids KB. It is one of the best strategy games on the market.
@setezerocinco yes. The DLC is worth it.
Played it, beat it, love it. I'll eventually come back to it to play it again.
3 hours in. Great fun so far.
This game is on my Xmas list for "santa"...hopefully my gf picks it up for me😁
@Whopper744
Can I help you somehow? I beat this game and it was really great fun
Must get back to this. Life got busy, but with a few days off, no more waiting. Great strategy game.
By reducing team size to three, limiting weapons to two, greatly reducing specials, and turning all shots to 0%-50%-100% hit chances, they reduced the clutter of strategy games and focused on giving the player challenging strategic choices.
Amazing to see Ubisoft ain't features in a game that's not online focused. Just barely getting into the game, myself but love it so far. The improvements are great to see!
@JaxonH just do what i do. Preorder at e3, forget when it's releasing, get it day 1, inconveniently add it to your growing backlog pile, finish the long rpg(s) you're currently working on, and in a year or two when you pull the new one from what is now the BOTTOM of your back log pile, all the patches and dlc is out by then
@rjejr have fun with the switches! I'll make sure to po thanos for you while you're away . Odyssey, Skyrim and rabbids for me this weekend!
@NEStalgia My kids had more fun with their cousins Wii U than their Switch, spent hours on Christmas trying to register the Lego Marvel 2 Season pass code, but Nintendo Land was enjoyed for hours.
Me, I slid off the road on a snowy unplowed street and spent the day back and forth to the garage for a $480 repair job. That's all I'll ever remember now from this holiday even though the rest of it was good, I'm emotionally scarred for life.
