To say Super Mario Odyssey gives you freedom of movement is quite the understatement, as no doubt anyone who's played the game can attest. We love them so much that we're looking to you for the absolute best jumps possible, be they high, long, or just extremely complex and satisfying.
We'll be featuring the very best clips in an upcoming video compilation that shows off as many as possible. If you want to get involved, all you have to do is record your jump from your Switch by long-pressing the capture button and sharing it with us on Twitter using the hashtag #MarioMegaJump. We're keeping an eye on all submissions using that tag, so as long as you've spelt it correctly you needn't worry about it getting lost.
We look forward to all your submissions!

@crackafreeze Although the quality wildly varies, it's not just Twitter, though. Even to this day, YouTube's video compression is still sub-par and doesn't do gaming videos any favor where it concerns 100% accurately representing what you can expect to see on your own screen at home.
If you just watch the current any% wr by Vallu111, you'll have plenty of cool jumps.
Things like these wouldn't be possible (at least not for Switch owners without a capture card) without the video capture feature.
And a contest like this is exactly the kind of thing (among other uses) that feature should be used for.
So thanks to Nintendo for adding that feature and to NintendoLife for starting that contest. 👍
@crackafreeze You mean this one? https://www.twitch.tv/videos/187364175
@crackafreeze I uploaded to facebook and it looks decent
@crackafreeze Oops, sorry, that question was meant for @EarthboundBenjy (who brought up the speedrun from Vallu111).
I wish you could post recorded gameplay videos to YouTube as the quality of the Twitter videos is awful
How long do we have? There's a great route in the Lake Kingdom, but I'd need to start the game over again.
Mega long jumps are standard in super mario 64
Everyone took my idea for an entry. Darn.
I can’t help on this since I don’t have a switch.
Anyone want to offer me one? https://www.amazon.es/gp/registry/wishlist/3U75V4SIGBAFR
@yeayeanaynay damn. Didnt you make a backup save file
I love that Harmo Knight Inspired Zelda Poster. Who made it?
If anyone is stuck for the long jump combo;
1) Jump -> groundpound -> roll (for speed boost)
2) Jump (during roll for long jump) -> throw cappy -> dive (hold y until you jump up)
3) At the apex of the jump press jump for a twirl (for extra hang time)
4) Throw cappy again and dive.
Hope this helps
@yeayeanaynay Huge bummer, how many moons in were you?
@yeayeanaynay dannnng, that sucks dude. But I already am into my second playthrough (this time with a friend), and sometimes I play co-op with my roommate's save file as well, the replay value of this game is thankfully quite high. If you need to take a break then by all means do it, but you should still enjoy this the second time through... and it's much easier the second time because you end up knowing where a lot of the hidden moons are!
I might enter - If I had Twitter
I might enter - If I had Super Mario Odyssey... :/
Never used twitter, and never will, so ah well
Do 2-player jumps count? I've done some pretty wacky things with a bud of mine.
