One of the many promising games on the horizon for the Switch eShop is that of Cat Quest, an open world RPG adventure that stars a whole lot of cats. It was announced for the Switch way back in May, with a promised release date of sometime in 2017, and now it seems that the developers are zeroing in on launch day.
The development team, The Gentlebros, showed the game off recently at a convention in Singapore, where they talked with Cat Illusions about the upcoming game. The team is aiming to release Cat Quest sometime in November, and said that it’ll cost $12.99. The game will take anywhere from 10-15 hours to beat, with even more for those who want to see everything. There’ll be some new content for the Switch, too, by way of the “Mew Game Mode” which will include a customizable difficulty mode and new items.
What do you think? Will you be picking this up? How do you think it’ll perform on the eShop? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Aw, man...and here I was hoping for Aardvark Adventure. I guess this will do.
Makes sense from the developer's standpoint. The move from mobile to Switch = better profit margins. Why charge $5 when you can charge $13, amirite?
Edit: Turns out it was a Steam game before a mobile game. Hmm, maybe worth checking out.
Not sure about the gameplay but I like the presentation.
I like the uncommon approach of having a full cast of cats as your protagonists. I do however worry about potential bugs i.e. Fleas, Ticks and Mites. I will have to wait on a review to see if this one scratches the itch.
I‘m not a fan of cats mostly for their bird-hunting ways (and also allergies) but this looks catptivating enough for me to consider a buy if the reviews are pawesome. Also cat puns galore!
It looks Catatonic.
Nope... sounds like utter rubbish. Not even worth a pun!
A mew game mode? Is this actually pokemon? Lol
Kinda annoyed about the inflationary use of "promising", "hype" etc. for every Indy-title...
Looks interesting and the price is right. Seems like it has good reviews everywhere else it's been released so I might give it a try.
A very polished mobile game. Have it on my Android phone. It's fun.
One of the rare mobile games today, that cost 5-7$ upfront, and doesn't contain any micro transactions or commercials.
The game is therefore not designed to take all you money, but only to give you a great gameplay experience. Like it always should be.
I can only recommend people to support this. It would be a great game to have on the switch.
@SteveF
Yea. This promotional language is not helpful.
Kawaii
Looks like a cruddy duddy mobile game, pass.
@bolt05
A great game is a great game, no matter platform. And this is a solid Game!
It's also out on Steam, and was definitely developed with many different control-inputs in mind. Will work great on Switch.
@Reignmaker Was actually released on Steam first (for $13) then a little later on mobile and now coming to switch/PS4.
Definitely grabbing this. Seen coverage of the steam version and it looks pretty damn good. Almost grabbed the mobile version but heard they had to cut some controls, like the ability to dodge roll and decided to wait on the switch version.
Looks like a purr-fect fit for the Switch.
This looks like a port of a cell phone game... Maybe there is more to it but it looks, in this short video, really really basic.
@Loserkid41 Ah, No kidding? Hmm. Thanks fo clarifying.
@dres I don't think this game will offer me the experience I want on my switch.
So, so much potential to be unique and have a lot of memes in an rpg.
Fight with Grumpy Cat to defeat the LOL Cat clan!
Looks like a 7 out of 10 game.
