A while ago we posted a video on how to make a super-portable Joy-Con grip from a cheap Chinese product that costs only a few of your hard-earned dollars. However we weren't content with just that so we decided to take it all a step further.
Inspired by various ideas from all over the internet we've cracked open the very same kind of cheapo grip and plonked magnets inside allowing it to function as both a comfy, standard grip and the nice, slim-factor one we happily butchered in the past. Make sure you check out the video above to see it all in action.

Looks like a great idea.
Hey, that is a pretty cool idea, thanks for the tip, Alex
I carry my Switch around in a backpack so I just bring the Pro Controller.
They need to make a grip that lets you adjust the angles of the grip handles, and lets you extend their width apart and their length. Then you could have a grip that's perfect for any hand size or controller preference.
Edit: If someone makes this, remember where you heard it first, in a random comment on NintendoLife
I just can't wait to have a yellow and green joycon on the same controller. When I get my Splatoon stuff it'll be quite lovely.
OOOOHH. gonna get some and chop them up to make a wider grip now
Really? Like carrying a few more ounces would make any difference.
Brilliant ingenuity compared to Switch's method of communicating or having social interaction.
permanent magnetism is actually one of the most difficult phenomena to properly explain and one of the last things you learn during physics studies.
cool!
@MisterKorman They made a how-to on taking off the handles of the grip. This is a how-to on making a grip where you can switch between handles and no handles. I think.
