The Nintendo Switch may not have been out for very long, but already we're seeing a wealth of games supporting co-op play thanks most likely to the flexibility and appeal of the Joy-Con controllers.
Make sure you check out the video above where we look at the top five of these games that are out there for you to purchase should you so desire.

Are any of those online multiplayer too?
Snipperclips is pure fun with friends, bomberman isn't too bad either.
@Xaessya nope.
1 Snipperclips
2 Snipperclips
3 Snipperclips
4 Something
5 Something else
MKDELUXE will be the first multiplayer worth having that will be a huge success, all before it will have to bow and call it master
Was there any switch retail games on the list. Metal slug 3 would be a good co op but that's a neogeo game
@Hotfusion *5 Snipperclips
I found that Metal Slug 3 is a great classic co-op game, the switch was perfect for it's port
For those of you who don't want to sit through an 11-minute video for a 5-game list, spoilers:
5) Little Inferno
4) Blaster Master Zero
3) World of Goo
2) Shovel Knight
1) Snipperclips
@FNL thanks
Frankly, I'm a little surprised that Bomberman isn't on the list. Sure, Bomberman isn't too strong as a single-player offering, but as a multi-player game, I'd say it definitely deserves to be on the list.
Besides that, I mostly agree, especially for the Top 3.
@FNL an 11 minute video where a simple list with a paragraph of text for each would do? Wow, thanks for enduring and giving us the list.
Also… their list includes a game they thought didn't have a great co-op mode? When there are the Neo Geo titles as well? And as someone said, yeah Bomberman's single player/ Co-Op isn't the main focus, but it's still reasonable surely?
Freedom is a lonely road. Im sure the switch is and will be an even better coop system.
I was in a bad mood and tried to play the snipperclips demo. It still managed to elevate my mood. I can only imagine how fun this would be coop.
@jswhitfield8 IGN has a video series based on that idea! It's called Linked Together I think
No list? Only a video?
@jswhitfield8 thanks for the drinking game, brilliant idea
Candidate for Co-Op play games for Switch in the future = Overcooked.
Don't get me wrong, I like all the games on this list, but I have a hard time believing that Little Inferno has a better co-op mode than Super Bomberman R. Having played both, I can assure you that playing Little Inferno co-op adds nothing fundamental to the experience, while Bomberman becomes exponentially more fun with more people.
Top 5 co-op games from a selection of 6.
Snipperclips was a suprise Co OP experience. We had a blast with it. Wish they would add more to it.
Little Inferno is a great game, but the coop is a little lame. I haven't tried World of Goo coop, I could see where that might be fun.
If I had to guess, I would think the biggest strike against Bomberman is the price. I don't know how they picked the games they chose, we have had a lot of fun with Bomberman, but it does feel like it should have been a $20 title.
@AlexOlney
Aw nice I was wondering when we would see Sasha again, she's adorable
@DCorp Because the list is Co-Op, not Vs Multiplayer.
@Zeargo Doesn't the main campaign support Co-Op?
Shock Troopers.
Love your hair Sasha
@DCorp Seeing that Bomberman didn't make the list, and Little Inferno has, I'm not even interested in watching the vid honestly. How the heck...?
I was passing though Virginia on a road trip today, and in Blacksburg there was a Best Buy that had two Switches in Stock, a wal mart that had two in Stock near the Roanoke/Blacksburg regional Airport, and an employee at gamestop claimed there was a shop near the area that had 10. Sorry my directions aren't very specific, i'm not familiar with the area and was only there for about an hour. If you're near Roanoke or Blacksburg tomorrow, might be worth checking out.
@Lalivero @DCorp I don't own Bomberman R, so I can't say much about it. But it's clearly a Vs Multiplayer game. If there is Team Vs Team option in the game, that's not Co-Op if your calling it so. Co-Op is typically 2 Players assisting each other. And that's not Bomberman R, which is why it's not on the list.
@Zeargo Just as @Captain_Gonru pointed out, co-op does exist in the game, for the story mode/campaign, even if that's not the main focus of the game.
@ACK Came here to say the same thing. Surprised it's not on the list really.
@Lalivero @Captain_Gonru Like I said, don't own it. I had no idea about that games Co-Op. I don't know why it's not on the list. Could just well be an Indies Co-Op List.
@FNL thank you. I really hate video only articles will never watch that.
@Zeargo The Co-Op in Bomberman R is definitely not as good as the Battle Mode, and I can understand that you may not have heard of it, but it's still extremely fun. Frankly, I didn't enjoy the Co-Op of Blaster Master Zero very much. It's a nice addition, but it's not really anything special.
Also, Snipperclips is not entirely an indie game, since it was published by Nintendo.
A nice little selection of games there. I'm definitely a fan of both local co-op and local multi-player. This is one of the things I think the Switch is going to really shine at, much like the N64 absolutely did back in the day.
@FNL christ that's a sad list.
@DCorp i think more than anything it speaks to how mediocre of a game Super Bomberman R really is. It's not a good game. On any system, let alone one as devoid of actual games like the Switch.
@gatorboi352 Super Bomberman R isn't a bad game, by any means. It just doesn't strive to be innovative in any way, and it's not really different than any other games in the series. However, it's not a bad game.
@DCorp Super Bomberman R is a pretty good game actually, it's just a little light on content especially when compared to past Bomberman entries, Given how safe the game plays it, it should have done all it could to make the most out of the classic Bomberman gameplay, hopefully Konami continues adding to the game beyond the upcoming DLC, the potential is certainly there.
Btw I'm one of those weirdos who really likes having story modes in Bomberman games, hated that the last few north american titles were Vs only, and despite what people say, Live and Ultra felt shoddy and cheap compared to most entries in the series, it was competent and justified by it's price, but I'd rather pay at least 40 bucks for Bomberman R, gameplay is tighter, and it's more visually appealing doesn't come off as "soulless" like Live and Ultra do.
