Wacky advertising crossovers are all the rage in Japan - we've already seen Mario hopping into a Mercedes, for example - and now it's the turn of Capcom's Street Fighter, which features heavily in this commercial for the Toyota C-HR.
The clip uses graphics from the 1991 arcade smash hit Street Fighter II, with Ryu hopping into the aforementioned automobile before driving through the various levels and facing off against lead antagonist M. Bison (or Vega as he is known in Japan - M. Bison was the original name for the boxer Balrog, a name which intentionally sounded like Mike Tyson, but Capcom decided to change the naming of the bosses for the global release to avoid any issues).
We think this is an incredibly well-done commercial - it's a shame we don't get more of this kind of thing in the west. Let us know your thoughts by posting a comment.

That is glorious haha
Lol. Great stuff
I find it interesting how Japan is in the center of that world map, contrary to what you normally see. Is it that way in the actual games?
We need more adverts like this. Capcom, make it happen.
If this was added as a mode in Ultra Street Fighter II....
Hahahaha.... :lol:
Toyota Car confirmed as additional DLC fighter for Ultra SF II Switch. XD
What is it with these car commercials? First, Ford used Metal Gear, Dragon Ball Z, and Sailor Moon in their adverts, now Toyota is using Street Fighter?
Simply amazing.
Ha, very good, shame the car is so ugly
@Retruate
A lot of countries do this.were you live your country is pretty close in the middle right?same for were I live. It's a normal thing
Huge bonus points for including Queen music, especially a lesser-known song. Awesome stuff!
So can that mod be in ultra street fighter 2?
I mean it's a handicap match, but I bet I can beat it to 3000 bonus points.
@Retruate
That's the exact same world map graphic from the original SF2, yes.
Perfect!
This is the greatest car commercial of all time, hands down. The bit with washing the car instead of destroying it is way too funny!
Japanese SFII name conversion:
M. Bison = Vega (JP); Balrog = M. Bison (JP); Vega = Balrog (JP).
Dictator is wrecking it! I wish I could do that to the person that keeps double parking near me at work.
That's what they got for beating on that poor bonus stage car for the last five entries of Street Fighter II.
Great commercial. I still like the Tecmo Super Bowl X KIA Sorento commercial they did with Bo Jackson a little bit better though.
Even better than the Techmo Bowl Commercials we got for the Sorento.
"Oh, my... car?..."
