Nintendo, it seems, has been missing the trick for years. With clone systems everywhere, and SEGA giving rights to people working out of sheds to produce ROM-filled Mega Drive / Genesis systems (or so it seems based on their quality), Nintendo releases one and the world goes crazy. Naturally Nintendo has struggled to make enough of them, but let's not go there.

The Media Create chart results are out in Japan and contain good news for the Famicom Mini - or Nintendo Classic Mini Family Computer, if you prefer. But first let's get the software out of the way. The first 3DS game is a newcomer in third place, PriPara Mezameyo! Megami no Dress Design; we're sure it's awesome. Beyblade Burst also arrived this week on 3DS, but didn't have quite as much appeal as designing dresses, which publisher FuRyu may take as a particularly brutal snub.

Moving on to hardware, it's the Famicom Mini destroying all in its path with over a quarter of a million sales; it is worth noting that it costs about the same as a full price game, however. Apparently the PS4 Pro shifted 65,194 units, according to Famitsu; Media Create just bundles the different forms of PS4 together.

Happy times for Nintendo. Retro sells, so no doubt the Super Famicom Mini is already in development.
