We've made no secret of the fact that we're rather hopeful about Chase: Cold Case Investigations - Distant Memories, which is out this week in the 3DS eShop. As we've mentioned repeatedly, it's the Nintendo portable return for Taisuke Kanasaki and multiple staff from the now shuttered CiNG studio. They're well known for narrative-driven titles on the DS in particular, including the likes of Trace Memory, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Last Window: The Secret of Cape West.
In any case, Nintendo has released a neat localised trailer that showcases what this one's all about, with crime scene investigation, interviews / interrogations and some moody cutscenes at the fore. At one point Chase lounges back with his feet up across both screens, because he's a maverick detective that follows his own rules (or something).
Ignore the 'out now' part in the video below; this arrives in the standard download update on 13th October, so perhaps Nintendo UK published a little early by accident.
Don't forget that, for a couple of weeks, My Nintendo users in Europe can get this at a discounted price of €4.79 / £4.80 in exchange for 20 Gold Points; its normal cost is €5.99 / £6.00.
Are you interested in picking this one up?

I was hoping to get Last Window first, as I missed it when it was released, but it's pretty hard to find, so I might just go ahead and get this... it's not like there's anything else I want to spend my gold points on at the moment.
I seriously start to wonder where's the catch, this games looks too good for cost so little.
Definitely considering to buy it tomorrow, althought my backlog wouldn't be too happy if I do XD
@BakaKnight Pretty sure the catch is the length of the game.
The 1.20 EUR discount for 20 gold coins is kind of a joke. I'd rather save those 20 coins for something else.
Also this game not having 3D is kind of a deal breaker for me anyway.
Is this coming to the US?
I will be downloading the game but still unsure if I should us my 20 coins.
I wasn't interested untill I saw this trailer, but now I think I'll be getting it.
@SilentHunter382 Someone pointed out on here to me the other day that launch discounts may be preferrable to discounts on older, very popular games that most of us have already. As such, this is a chance to send that message. You'll get 10 coins back on purchase, so unless you're saving for something in particular, may be worth a punt.
This looks fun and I've got the discount ready . Hardly seems much point waiting with the coins as so far my Nintendo has offered very little so this at least holds my interest and you get coins back anyway ! It's a no brainer imo !
@rosemo I believe it's due this week in NA too, it's just that EU download details are given at the start of every week.
@Sakura I agree, and I think it's one of the best My Nintendo rewards we've seen in terms of what it's trying to do; admittedly, it's not had much competition...
I wish NA was getting Last Window too. I have no idea why that didn't come over, and I'm guessing since CiNG as a company is done, NA may never see it released.
I can't wait. I liked both the originals and tried out Trace Memory but haven't finished the opening section.
Doesn't look quite as engaging as Hotel Dusk but I'm still interested.
Really looking forward to this. Hotel Dusk is one of my favourite games ever!
@Sakura May get it considering there is really nothing else that I want to get with my gold points and with the 10 gold coins back makes the deal better.
I even had a quick luck on my 3ds and I have enough in my wallet to get the game after the discount but not enough without.
I have slapped the 20 gold down on this game it looks really good.
I'd buy it but well nothing about it hitting north america so far.
Wish us Americans can spend our gold on this. Ah well, I don't mind paying full price for something like this.
I absolutely love the fact that the characters names stay Japanese and the locations are in Japan and not the crap translation Japamerica style like Gyakuten Saiban turned out in Ace Attourney series.
Will be buying today immediately. Already have the discount enabled.
@MeloMan
I imported the pal version and it played fine on my 3ds xl. Awsome game.
I've been waiting for something like this. I hope it's kind of like JB Harold Murder Club.
@SaKo I read a review saying they finished it in under 2 hours and that it seemed episodic. They liked it though so I guess for the price it may be pretty good.
If it is episodic a part of me kinda wants to wait and see if they release multiple episodes together somewhere down the line though...
