Teslagrad developer Rain Games is currently hard at work on World to the West, which is already confirmed as coming to Wii U. Rain's Ole Ivar Rudi has been answering questions about the title, and having already shot down hopes of a 3DS edition, he was (perhaps unsurprisingly) quizzed regarding a possible NX version:
Hehe, gotta keep answers straight here. As we mentioned earlier it's very unlikely to come out on 3DS, but it *will* show up on additional platforms. Maybe even another Nintendo platform, but our lips are sealed though.
He also revealed that the game is slated for an early 2017 release:
We will focus on getting the full game itself ready instead as we are aiming for a Q1 2017 release, so it won't be too long before you all get to play it, but as I'm sure you're aware by now, game developers tend to be frightfully optimistic about these things!
The full interview goes into a lot of depth regarding World to the West's relationship with Teslagrad, and is well worth a look.

Did he just drop an NX bomb??!!
Just put NX in every article from now on. It will certainly get over 100 comments guarantee.
@Spoony_Tech BOOOOOOOM!!!!
@Spoony_Tech Don't worry the interview will be censored to remove all recollection of the NX.
@FragRed ... NX isn't mentioned. Not in the quotes in this article at least. Could be talking about the Sleep Sensor or Virtual Boy for all we know...
I refuse to confirm these virtual boy rumors
Don't know if I would prefer this game on Wii U or NX. If the system is what I am hoping it to be I think I would prefer it on that. If not the Wii U version will do just fine.
Ole Ivar Rudi, it was nice knowing you.
Nintendo: "Release the hounds!"
Norwegian developers usually release their games for Wii U, so a NX release is not unlikely at all.
Don't mention those two letters together like that. You might get a Demolition Man violation fine..
World to the West confirmed for NES Mini!
@Spoony_Tech guaranty? And people make fun of my spelling.
Game looks good, I like the theme, sound, music, 3D, though I prefer my top down a let a little less top, a little more down, this angle gives me vertigo.
Wii U keeps getting games. All these indie devs should get together with Playtonic for a big marketing push next winter. "Good games are good reasons to keep your Wii U hooked up". Something like that.
And while it's nice to think a lot of games will make their way to "that which must not be named", the install base will be so small at first, and it better be packed with all the good AAA first party games that Wii U didn't get, that indie devs shouldn't rush over to a new system, finish making good Wii U games first for console owners who are starving. Not all 13 million Wii U owners can upgrade for at least 12 months if they are only making 10 million the first year. That's just math.
@YeshaYahu5417 at least you'll have paper!
@rjejr My stupid phone! 😛

Tomorrows article:
"Teslagrad Developer, Ole Ivar Rudi, mysteriously gunned down!"
The same looks fun i'll check it out on the NX .
@Jaredfrogman lol right
@yuwarite
Nintendo murdered one of their own employees in a staged car accident before, but I doubt they would kill someone who works for another company.
The artstyle is meh, the concept is interesting and the soundtrack is amazing
Sad, that it will never be released due to an untimely death of the developer.
Wrong place, wrong time, wrong system mentioned
great sense of humor lol
Looks fun, i get it if nx get released
World to the west will be a masterpiece as Teslagrad!!!!!
@chardir Hahaha !!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE 8/10 for the gif, needs more flying monkeys 😜
It does look like something that would do well on a Nintendo platform. I love they feature a teslamancer. A nice shared universe thing.
Looking forward to this one. I enjoyed Teslagrad a lot more than I thought I would do this is high on my watch list!
@yuwarite They won't kill him...they will just...rough him up a bit. You can live with broken fingers.
@Ryu_Niiyama creepy avatar dude! I normally giggle at your other ones but that is kinda freaky for some reason o_0
@ULTRA-64 What? How can you call Nocchi creepy?! You take that back! Or she will cry!
LOL all my avatars revolve around the same theme: Perfume. This is just one of the members being funny/silly.
@MrHaggi
Yeah, IF it ever gets released. The NX is to consoles what the "Chinese democracy" album was to music nobody cares about.
@Spoony_Tech
Lol
for petes sake, just show us what the NX looks like fer cryin out loud.
I guess I'll get it on the NX, if the machine ever releases. :---)
@gcunit A Wii U game ported to Virtual Boy?
Now THAT'S sensational news. XD
@ollibald "I refuse to confirm these virtual boy rumors"
Great stuff!
@Ryu_Niiyama well that explains allot. I've always wondered what the recurring theme was!!
I think I'm now sold on perfume. Looked them up, feel like a fan club member already and I havn't had time to actually listen to the music yet either. I'm hoping the song macaroni is as good as its name suggests. My favorite of your Avatar's(that I remember) was the girl walking sassily down the street!
@ULTRA-64 lol yeah the Kashiyuka one was good. She always has the sass expressions. A-chan when not crying (she does this a lot out of gratitude to fans...it is both endearing and a meme) or being adorable has the best unexpected reactions. But Nocchi is the queen of WTF faces. Its like she forgets the camera is on her and her emotions show right through. So glad you are looking to give them a listen! I could gush all day but I'll spare you.
