@vanzan Sorry to intrude, but ziffy wasn't harassing at Sligeach_Eire. He said he was not trying to be mean, and that it was difficult to convey over text. Sligeach_Eire is definitely a fairly negative commenter, I don't think anyone, even he, would disagree with this (and it's perfectly understandable considering the nature of Nintendo at the moment), but ziffy was not saying anything rude to him in regards to this, just that it was remarkably similar to Peach64, who disappeared from this comment section at around the same time Sligeach_Eire appeared. Again, sorry if you think this is butting in, I'm just messaging this in case you weren't entirely clear on the entire situation

@FierceRagnar pretty sure it would be on Amiibo dlc. Shovel knight didn't need it ethier but it was amazing and would not have been created without it.

Shovel Knight looks just like his amiibo. We have the game on 3DS and never got it, but it looked good in stores, maybe they can do another run when the update launches, around during the same time as YL I think.

First note: despite backing this game, I've avoiding most trailers simply to avoid getting TOO hyped but... wow, this feels so Rare I'm getting Nostalgia. It really looks and sounds like a spiritual successor!

Note 2: if we get Shovel Knight 64 it BETTER be N64 level of graphics!

It's cool and all, but why does everyone want Shovel Knight in their game? it's a NPC even, pretty sure people would want to play him instead of just seeing him yoho hooing

I'm amazed at how awesome the game is shaping up to be! Looks beautiful, and soooooo much fun! This is going to be the last WiiU game for sure, either this or Bloodstained. I'm so glad both are releasing, can't wait for 2017! Btw: hope it gives some use to the Shovel Knight amiibo!

Only Rare (not Playtonic, this is Rare) could put "Blimey" in dialogue.
If my memory is correct, "blimey" is quite the swear in British English, although I don't even know what it means.

That aside, this is perfect.

Looking forward to dig him up in the game. Feels unreal that I'll be playing this on Wii U in Q1 2017, though. NX will be the new thing then, and it might feel weird to play this long anticipated new title on an old system.

At this stage I'm actually looking forward to this more then Zelda breath of the wild. Well done Playtonic this seems to be the most original and fresh game I've seen since Splatoon.

@AlexSora89 it's not a swear at all it's an expression of surprise. It's a shortened version of Gorblimey which is apparently from "God blind me", an expression of disbelief at what one has just witnessed.

It's not particularly commonly used these days, mostly when playing up to the accent for international audiences or imitating a cockney geezer (see: Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins). Though due to it's seemingly inherently British nature it is a word that British game devs like use, it's not unique to Playtonic. I mean these guys are great but let's not over credit them.

I had the chance to play Yooka Laylee at EGX yesterday and it was brilliant. Shovel Knight only sweetens the deal further.

The hype for this game just keeps building and after watching that video it literally multiplied. It looks amazing and Grant Kirkhope as well as the lovely team at Playtonic Games have really brought me back to my childhood with the nostalgic soundtrack and whacky characters. I know I'm going to love this game and I really can't wait to play it. So glad I backed it.

And in one character cameo this game went from a 'strong interest' to a 'day one purchase.'

@AlexSora89 not a swear so much as it's an exclamation of shock and surprise. Actually, no one really uses 'blimey' anymore, it's a bit too cockney '60's Carry On movie. British kids use many Americanisms now instead. But this is Rare. They're more British than Bangers 'n Mash. And their inspiration for dialogue stems from old comics like the Beano and Dandy, whose dialogue is much like that.

I'm loving the way the text in this game looks like BK text; the logo is exactly like the BK one. This is the spiritual successor in practically every way!!

It looks pretty fun and all but those voices are going to annoy me real fast..

(Seriously, I feel that Shovel Knight is being pushed too much independent areas. I mean, other than his appearance here, there is also Plague Knight in Creepy Castle. I mean, this would make more sense if Shovel Knight gave results similar to the launch of Super Mario Bros or Pokémon Red/Green/Blue, but I think his impact is overblown here, yet others who like independent releases are getting a little desperate or delusional. I am reminded of the makers of Meat Boy desperately wanting their character to be a playable character in a Super Smash Bros game!)

I saw, somewhere, that this game isn't even coming out until next year some time. If that's so, is it even coming to Wii U, or making a jump to the NX instead, or just 3DS?

That music reminds me so much of Banjo Kazooie, even the talking sequence is just like Banjo Kazooie. This game is almost certain to be a classic!

NOTE: Shovel Knight is also in the Wii U game Armillo. It's not a popular game so not sure if anyone's noticed but I really enjoyed Armillo.

@JLPick If you look at the end of the trailer at 1:47, Wii U is mentioned. I'm not sure whether that counts as confirmation of Yooka Laylee being released on Wii U though, but surely they have already been working on a Wii U version for some time.

I went to EGX this weekend and make sure I gave this a try. To start you will see from previous comments that I have not the same anticipation for this game however I very much enjoyed the game. The game was running on a PC engine and looked very detailed and colourful and the stage shown was reasonable in size. The demo could be finished in various different ways, I collected something which led to another challenge and then another. I watched people playing while in the queue and saw areas I never visited and people doing various challenges I never attempted.
Overall I felt a sense of wanting to explore and try to find new things all from the one area of the game. I can't say I haven't played similar games in the past but this definitely seems to be a good one.

Just a small thing I would say is that I couldn't get my character to run, just walk and it felt a bit weird.
