Earthlock: Festival of Magic has been in development for what seems like forever, but it's finally coming out next month - on the Xbox One and PC, at least.
However, developer SnowCastle Games has stated that the Wii U eShop release is still happening - alongside a PS4 version - and will take place "as soon as possible" after the initial September 1st launch.
While it's annoying having to wait, the game looks so gorgeous that we're not sure we mind all that much. Is this one still on your radar? Let us know with a comment.

Yes please! Visually I'm getting a Beyond Good and Evil vibe.
The art direction is on point!
Dunno if they're going for the look but it looks like a PS2 JRPG to me.
Hm...interesting...
Let's see the size of the game....
It's not a JRPG.
The developers are from Norway
What the heck are you guys on about?
it's actually depressing how weak the Wii U's line up of RPGs has been. At least the 3DS makes up for it.
Earthlock is that you!?
I didn't even know this game existed. It looks awesome. Hope it plays as well as it looks!
I'm getting it on Xbox One, because its free on release.
Free on 1st september.
Backed this on Kickstarter too.
Just looks excellent. Did then, and even more so now.
Def picking it up on xbox. Will give me a reason to knock the dust off of it
For some reason the environment seems a bit... barren at some points.
Another backer here. Good to see that is coming to Wii U soon.
Looks like an interesting game. Hope they stick to their promise.
@Ventilator just checked games for gold. This game is only game announced so far, but that's awesome because I want it! Remember Kickstart from long ago, and glad see game is actually coming out. I'll still buy wiiu version to support devs.
@polarbear I loooovvvveeee polar bears!
It's definitely a unique design, I'll give it that. Then again, most kickstarter games do, barring a few hiccups this year.
Can't wait to get my backer copy.....I can wait for a little while longer. Hopefully the Wii U version is out before December
All looking good except the battle system which feels a bit dry
Hm, somehow missed this one. Definitely going to get it when it comes to Wii U or PS4 though!
I'm getting an old school final fantasy vibe...and I'm def interested in this over ff15. It just reminded me a lot of ff7/10 watching that.
Nothing there that a Wii U can't handle. Looks great
This game is finally coming out ashame have too wait for the the Wii U version tho.
I may give it play on PC. Doubt I'd get it on Wii U.
@Spoony_Tech For me it looks more like a Tales of game.
Finally? I was wondering if this game got canned. Can't wait
If you have an xbox one and gold you'll be getting this for free on the 1st.
The game looks alright, but... I'm not sure if we should call a game a 'JRPG' when it doesn't have japanese developers and doesn't really look like a japanese game either.
Okay, I'll wait. Strange that the PS4 release has to wait, too. Hopefully it's not any kind of temporary exclusivity contract, I don't want to wait 4-6 months for a completed game...unless it has issues at launch. Which it might have, and a 4-platform simultaneous release wouldn't have helped that. So I can wait. But I'll still be annoyed...
I remember when this game was announced. The internet had just been invented by Al Gore and we didn't even know what a smart phone was.
Oh how the time flies.
Looks pretty nice.
@Thaswizz : Thats nice. I have bought same game 2-4 times myself to support developers too.
I have never heard of this game, so i need to try it first.
@CanisWolfred It does sound like some kind of exclusivity deal doesn't it. Usually when they aren't exclusives they hit PS4 and Xbox One the same day. Only other thing I can guess is its a small team doing it and they can only do a version at a time.
@Tasuki - It's a "Games for Gold" deal, so...yeah. It's probably temporarily exclusive. Since GfG is part of a subscription, though, I doubt it lasts as long as the others. The real problem is that it might get overlooked if they release it towards the end of the year, so if they're savvy businessmen, they'll hold off a release until late-January at the earliest...
I'll look into this game. If it looks fun, I will eventually buy it for my Wii U.
@whitemaskedhero They're a small indie team, you can't expect next-gen or current-gen graphics from them considering the game is such an ambitiously long JRPG.
@Ventilator I have been watching this game for awhile, and I'll pretty much give any NEW Jrpg try. I'll get it for free on one and October for Wii u which has is when is when I read it comes out after 1month exclusivity.
